"Great, I still love it!"

Okay. I got Atlantis when I was about 10 and I loved it back then. I still love it, but now that I am 14, I have seen that there are some flaws in the game which made me change my mind about it being an excellent game, but it is still a VERY good game deserving lots of recognition!

Graphics 10/10

Okay. These are very good graphics. They were not excellent, but they were very colourful and I just thought they added a nice twist on 8 bit graphics. They pleased me very much, especially the fire. In the newer game, Arc the Lad, the flames in that game were not as good as the fire in Atlantis. This really astonished me, and also the backgrounds had lots of detail and they were colourful. The graphics were a highlight of the game.

Sound 9/10

The sound in this game is very good, you here the very minor details of doors closing and opening, people running, or someone falling from a high height. The only thing I didn't like about the sound was the fact that there were NO voiceovers. There wasn't much space where voiceovers could have gone in, but since the words were exact cuts from the movie, they should have either used clips from the movie, or just cut the voices out of the movie and use the voices there. But, just a minor pitfall. Overall, the sound was crisp, clear, and very good for a 2001 GBA game.

Gameplay 9/10

The gameplay is good. It is crisp and not skippy. The style of platformer was very effective and it was an all-round great gameplay exprience. The only thing I didn't like about the gameplay was the fact that it started out easy, and got EXTREMLEY hard at the end, but to some, that could be a good thing!

Difficulty 8/10

Like I said above, this game gets VERY hard VERY fast. Levels 1 and 2 are easy, 3 and 4 are medium, 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 and 10 are all hard, level 9 I think being hard as hell! But since it delivered a challenge, the game difficulty was good.

Lenght 7/10

The length was alright. It might seem short with only 10 levels, but with the amount of difficulty and crystals to collect, (and perhaps the puzzles...) the game became quite long and it was great to play again!

Control 10/10

Milo was very easy to control and all of the buttons were very easy to remember. I never felt as if the game made me lose because of bad controls (Tomb Raider...) so it made the game MUCH smoother and more fun to play.

Value 9/10

For people above the age 5 and below 15, this game will offer days and weeks of fun, and for a price of $30-$35, this is a good buy, but nowadays, this game is hard toi find but it only costs about $15! So you should definatly buy this game. It is a VERY good value.

Suitability 10/10

This game was rated E. Which means 6 and up. I would rate it probably 8+ just for mild violence, 2 scary parts of the game, scary monsters in the sea and on land, Milo being in constant danger, and 2 mild swear words. Overall, the E rating was great!

Rent or Buy?

RENT this game if you are above 15, or you don't think this game sounds as if it would appeal to you.

BUY this game if those two things don't fit in your category!

So have fun with this game if you get and I hope this review helped!
