Astro Boy: Omega Factor
Review by fronttrigger1
"A really fun experience"
At first glance, this game seems like nothing special, but don't judge this book by it's cover. This game brings me back to such games as Double Dragon and the SNES classic Mega Man X or even Area 88. Don't think that you are going to get through this game is one setting!!
Graphics: The graphics on this game is really good. I like many of the back grounds, and the anime of the characters involved fit the game perfectly. The only thing that I don't like is the sometimes pudgy look of Astro Boy. Other than that, graphics are pretty good.
Control: You have great control of Astro Boy and his movements throughout the game. No complaints here. Basic jump, punch or Omega blast controls.
Music/Sound: The soundtrack to this game is very catchy, and works. Different sounds for different moods of the game. Explosions are great and sound real.
Story: I don't want to spoil anything, but there is a complex story line running throughout this game. I admit that I have not taken the time to work through each page of story, but what I do understand about Astro Boy, it is a good story.
Game play: Here where it counts and where Astro Boy delivers. On one hand, it is good old-fashioned white knuckle action, beating up the bad guys. On the other hand, there is a good amount of strategy involved in this game. There are secret people in almost every scene, and if you can find them, you gain a "skill point". These skill points can increase your punching power, your blaster, the amount of damage you can take, etc. Some bosses can be really tough, I almost stopped trying with some, but I eventually made it through. To add, once you finish the game, you can go back and play through the game again, only everything is harder. A true challenge.
Overall, this is a very good game, and if you are a parent looking for a clean game for junior to play, this is the game to get him. I highly recommend this game to anyone who asks.
