Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Duel Academy
Review by KyuubiNaruto666
"Love it or Hate it. It's Yu-Gi-Oh! GX And it's here to stay."
Welcome to Duel Academy. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy is a another game from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Universe. It's an above average card battle game. Now Yu-Gi-Oh! is really a love it or hate it franchise. So If you like Yu-Gi-Oh! or any other card battle game you'll be right at home. If you hate Yu-Gi-Oh or card battle games stand clear this game isn't for you.
Graphic: 9/10
Though the graphics aren't really pushing the Game Boy Advance to it's limit. It still in spite of that is very solid and nice to look at. It doesn't waste space with the faux RPG style 3d world that you'd have to walk around in. By dropping that RPG style element every thing else is nice to look at, and all the animations are well done.
Sound and Music: 6/10
The sounds and music are nothing too special, or anything to write home about. They are better then a lot of previous Yu-Gi-Oh! Games though. The Sound quality isn't that great on the Game Boy Advance isn't that great any ways so it's really not an issue. The music is there, and it's slightly enjoyable.
Story: 7/10
The story it self is fairly simple. You're a student at Duel Academy, and your working your way to become king of games. The story is fairly weak, but it's good enough to carry the concept of the game, and there is a lot to do in the game.
Gameplay: 7/10
The game plays really well for a card battle game, and it's no surprise because Yu-Gi-Oh! games do tend to play well. The game has Exams, and puzzles called "Timed Duels." These do a good job of breaking up the standard build deck and duel everyone in sight. How ever this is a Yu-Gi-Oh! card battle game, so if you donut like either of those you'll dislike this game too.
Replay Value: 7/10
There are a lot of reasons to play this game again. Collecting every card in the game, finding more of the random events, and even improving your record. But if you didn't like this game the first time though, you won't like it any better a second. Even if you did enjoy the game it might not be incentive to play it a second time.
Overall: 7/10
Because Yu-Gi-Oh! is a love it or hate it series. I can't really recommend this to any one but card battle fans, or Yu-Gi-Oh! fans. If you're not sure you like or hate the Yu-Gi-Oh! series of games, I'd say give this a rent before you decide to buy it or not.
