"Backyard Baseball 2006...Reviewed"

Backyard Baseball 2006 is a relatively new game for the Game Boy Advance that features the pros playing as kids, the game is the second in the series and features new players and power ups as well as some old ones. Is it any good?Is it worth the money?Well check out my review to find out.

Graphics: 6/10
The graphics are very well done. The graphics are basically the same as the last version's which is a shame. It looks like the designers cut and pasted the graphics from the original Backyard Baseball but aren't bad enough to justify a low score.

Sound: 4/10
Definitely not the game's strong point. If you get this game, play with the sound/commentary off. I did and I enjoyed the game a lot better afterwards.

Gameplay: 6/10
With the choices of a quick pick up game, season play, mini-games, and the ability to link up to challenge a friend, this game has some decent depth, not an impressive amount, but more than what you would expect from a Game Boy game. The gameplay is the same as last version's, you have different pitches to choose from, while on defense, and you can change the position of both your infield and outfield. You can earn special pitches by striking out one of the opposing team's players. There may be another way, but I haven't seen it.The same options you have on defense and the type of pitches you throw, you have on offense. You will also be annoyed by your team's constant errors, but they are kids, so what do you expect?Best option is to turn the errors off.

Replayability: 4/10
After a quick 18 or 32 game season, the replayability of this game drops faster than Bush's approval ratings. Sure you can play through another season with another team, but the game is just not good enough to play it again. Play it once and you won't play it again unless you have a huge GBA library.

Rent or Buy: Rent first
Rent this game first. If you like it enough, you should consider buying it,as it is good enough just to occupy your time for at least a little while, if not more.

Final Score:6/10
