"A short but sweet platformer"

Blender Bros is a fun and creative game that few people have ever played. It is a platform game, with some cool twists in the game-play.

It takes place in the future, when the evil Zooligans try to take over the solar system. You and your animal-human friends have to—you guessed it—save the solar system. Along the way, you will meet partners called Mini-bros. that have special powers to help you out in different ways.

Graphics:

Simple, yet detailed, the graphics get the job done. There are various backgrounds for each level and planet all of which are very well done. The kart mini-games have the best the graphics. They really give the cities and jungles that you speed through a pseudo-3D effect. Another thing to note is if you use Blender's spin attack and keep spinning, you get those bluish images of speed like you would in some other games. The graphics in the game are very good, better than a lot of game for the Game Boy Advance.
Graphics: 9/10

Sound:

Blender Bros's sound is playful and creative. Everything sounds like it should, if not a little too light-hearted. The music is catchy, but can sound a little primitive at times.
Sound: 8/10

Game-play:

As with any game, the most important aspect is the game-play. As I stated before, Blender Bros is a platformer that forces you to get from point A to point B. The game is actually pretty short. It has about eight planets, most of them with three stages. Most of the stages are very short, but a few of them are slightly long. Blender has a few different abilities at his disposal. He can jump and spin like many other platformer heroes. If you hold the down button when you jump, he uses his long ears as springs to reach higher places. If you hold the button to spin down, Blender charges up and releases a wave of blue energy. As I mentioned early, you collect partners called Mini-bros that help you along the way. There are about fifteen Mini-bros in all. Some powers include extending your range of spin attack, replenishing your health, and lighting dark passages. You can even make your Mini-bros stronger by buying them different types of music for them to hear. Yes, it does not make much sense, but it works. The bosses in Blender Bros are not very difficult. There is usually one per planet. One gripe I have is that some of the bosses' attacks are nearly impossible to dodge. As long as you use the right Mini-bro, you should win easily. The last aspect of game-play that I would like to get into is the mini-games. There are only three, and one of them, the free-fall where you must dodge spike balls, is horrible, but the other two, the kart race and the footrace, are pretty good. By participating in mini-games, you earn crystals that you can use to buy extra health.
Game-play: 7/10

Overall:

Positives
+ Beautiful graphics
+ Nice music
+ Creative game-play

Negatives
-Way too short
-Way too easy

Blender Bros is a great game, and I wish that more people would have actually heard of it. There are better games out there, but if you found it somewhere for a nice price, it is not a bad game to get. I recommend renting it, because it is not too long.

Overall: 8 out of 10
