I dedicate this FAQ to timski. I somehow managed to miscount my requirements
for making it onto the multiple consoles FAQed list, so consider this my
piece de resistance! No more denying my entry now, though the lack of
scanning due to some block might prevent it anyway!

Also, for Cougar, Howler, and Koonce. I miss you, and I hope you are living
it up in the afterlife as you did in this world. You will always be in my
memories, and you will never be forgotten.

-------------------------------Introduction---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) The following is the stories from the game Dragon Warrior I & II, and are
   no way the works of Brian P. Sulpher (though some of the action will be
   paraphrased by me).

                           o------------------o
                           | Dragon Warrior I |
                           o------------------o

Evil forces attack Tatangel Castle, stealing away the Light Orb and the
Princess!

King: Welcome....... In the distant past... The Gods gave Loto the Light
      Orb. With it, he drove away the monsters that lay siege to the land.
      Dracolord, evil incarnate, emerged from nowhere and sealed the sacred
      orb in darkness. Without it, the darkness will swallow the world.
      Extinction will soon befall us. Brave INSERT Hero NAME HERE! We
      implore you to defeat Dracolord and recover the Light Orb. Take what
      you find in the chests. They should help your quest. Speak to those
      in my chamber. They will give you worldly advice. Let us meet again
      brave INSERT Hero NAME HERE!

Well, despite some poor sentence structure by the beloved, aging King, the
Hero is ready to move out into the world to become strong and defeat the
Dracolord! Will you lead him to glorious conquest of evil? or will you be
another dead body strewn about the land by the rule of a cruel and devious
beast?

                           o-------------------o
                           | Dragon Warrior II |
                           o-------------------o

Many years ago... A young descendant of Loto, the brave, hero of legend,
defeated Dracolord and restored light to the world. The young man took a
bride and left on a journey, As they traveled, he founded several new
kingdoms. These countries came to be ruled by the young man's children
from one generation to the next. A hundred years have passed...

Moonbrook... A Kingdom southwest of Lorasia. In the castle's courtyard, the
King and the young Princess engage in a pleasant and peaceful chat. But
then...

King....: Wh-What? What Happened?! Guards! Is no one here?

Guard...: Y-Your Highness! Moonbrook Castle is under attack by Hargon's
          army!

King....: What? Hargon dared to do this?

Guard...: Yes!

King....: Confound that vile Hargon! Hurry! Rally our troops!

Guard...: Yes!  Right away!

*monster destroys the guard*

King....: Listen INSERT Princess Moonbrook's NAME HERE! You stay hiding
          right here! Don't worry about me!

Princess: But, but, Father!

King....: Hurry, go! I must inform the King of Lorasia of this attack!

*The King fights valiantly, but is consumed by fire*

Princess: FATHER!

*Princess disappears down the stairs. While the castle is overrun, one
 Guard escapes and heads for Lorasia while Moonbrook burns.*

*The Guard reaches Lorasia, beginning the journey for Prince Lorasia*

-----------------------Dragon Warrior I Walkthrough-------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) This section will cover the meat of the Dragon Warrior I portion of the
   FAQ, the walkthrough that will guide the player through the game to
   victory!

                        o------------------------o
                        | From Humble Beginnings |
                        o------------------------o

Starting off as a weak, defenseless little runt that is setting off to
rescue both the hallowed Light Orb and the King's daughter, you would figure
that the King would be so gracious to throw a few Items your way, perhaps
bestow a Silver Shield, maybe some Magic Armor, or even a Flame Sword to
greatly increase your chances of survival and success. Sadly, the King
decides that you would be better served to receive a Key (which will be used
to leave the room), a Torch (which is worth all of 8 Gold and does not last
for a long period), and 120 Gold to use to buy equipment from the nearby
town, sending you buck naked in the process! Gee, thanks your royalness!

Anyway, leave the castle (heading straight down) to see a nearby town
(Tatangel) and another castle across the water to the south (which would be
the Dracolord's Castle). Once you have arrived in town, talk to everyone
to learn some very interesting things, also checking out ye olde (oh right,
no Olde English in this port... BOO!) Armour Shop and Item Shop:

 ________ _______ _______      __________ _______ _________________
|  Name  | Price | Power |    |   Name   | Price |   Used Effect   |
|________|_______|_______|    |__________|_______|_________________|
| Bamboo |       |       |    |   Herb   |    10 |Recovers 20-30 HP|
|  Pole  |    10 |    2  |    |__________|_______|_________________|
|________|_______|_______|    |  Torch   |     8 |Lights dungeons  |
|  Club  |    60 |    4  |    |__________|_______|_________________|
|________|_______|_______|    | D-Scale  |    20 |Increases DEF +5 |
| Copper |       |       |    |__________|_______|_________________|
| Sword  |   180 |   10  |
|________|_______|_______|
| Cloth  |       |       |
| Armor  |    20 |    2  |
|________|_______|_______|
|Leather |       |       |
| Armor  |    70 |    4  |
|________|_______|_______|
|Leather |       |       |
| Shield |    90 |    4  |
|________|_______|_______|

Now decision time has arrived for your Hero. He can either:

 i) A Club, Cloth Armor, and a D-Scale. This option gives an extra
    7 Defense and an extra 4 Offense.

ii) A Bamboo Pole, Leather Armor, and a D-Scale. This option give an extra
    9 Defense and an extra 2 Offense.

Which one to choose? Well, option one offers some better strength at the
expense of being a tad more vulnerable to damage, while option two offers
fabulous Defense with little in the way of Offense. Personally, I choose
option two as I am content to stay near the castle killing both types of
Slimes and Drackies, saving all my cash to reach 180 Gold so I can buy a
Copper Sword. Option one allows a more ranging movement of the Hero,
allowing him to attack Spookies and even Magicians (the problem here is that
more trips to the Inn will be necessary).

After gaining two levels to gain the Heal spell, the Hero is ready to go
tackle the monstrous task in front of him. First, he will need to learn
from the past, so a trek to Loto's Tomb is in order.

                       o----------------------------o
                       | Dungeon Crawling Commence! |
                       o----------------------------o

From the castle, head north, bypassing the grey mountains to find a small
desert where an open cave mouth yawns, inviting the Hero inside. Note that
this is the sole place in the game (excluding castle and towns) where
Monsters do not roam, so no fighting will be needed here.

Also note that this exercise is utterly unnecessary to finish the game, so
feel free to skip this portion if you are content to not really know what
is going on in the story (AKA you are following this walkthrough for the
real challenges that lay ahead).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor One ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blaze your one Torch and then don't dawdle, as the time it is lit for your
Hero is rather limited.  Head downwards, turning left briefly before
continuing downward once again.  Next is a right turn, which leads to a turn
back in the down direction, followed by moving right once again.  Cut under
the wall ahead, moving right to go upwards, which turns right and then
downwards one final time to reach the next stairway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor Two ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Upon appearing, follow the path up and then right, taking the down fork to
move left and upwards. Once the path forks again, go up, then follow the
path all the way to Loto's Tomb to learn that three mystical Items guarded
by three sages are the key to reaching the demonic island of the Dracolord!
Now head for the exit to begin the true questing!

                        o-------------------------o
                        | Take Time To Tour Towns |
                        o-------------------------o

After completing this event (and anytime you accomplish anything of note,
even some Experience/Gold gathering) head for Tatangel Castle to talk to the
King to record your deeds. However, before going to visit him, head up the
path in the castle, turning right at the pond to enter a side passage, and
then head down to enter the small room you find to talk to the Wise Man
behind the counter. He will call upon the holy light to bless the Hero,
which will fill his MP for free! use the refreshed MP to use Heal till the
Hero's HP are filled, then talk to the Wise Man again to refill the MP, then
go save. This is a free way for the Hero to get filled up, meaning that he
can save the Inn fee (as low as that is, every little piece of Gold helps
for future purchases).

Now that the Hero is all ready to set out (make sure to have a Copper Sword
so his attack will be able to damage stronger foes that lie ahead), head
north towards Loto's Tomb once again, this time continuing past it to find a
shoreline. Head west along this shoreline, eventually arriving at the town
of Garinham.

Inside are a new Armour Shop as well as an Item Shop:

 ________ _______ _______      __________ _______ _________________

|________|_______|_______|    |__________|_______|_________________|
| Copper |       |       |    |  Torch   |     8 |Lights dungeons  |
| Sword  |   180 |   10  |    |__________|_______|_________________|
|________|_______|_______|    | D-Scale  |    20 |Increases DEF +5 |

|________|_______|_______|
|  Iron  |       |       |
| Shield |   800 |   10  |
|________|_______|_______|

Out of all the new Weapons and Armors, the only one that should be an
immediate concern for purchase is the Iron Shield, as it will be the best
Shield available for the majority of the game (just note that purchasing it
right away is not a requirement)! The Iron Axe and Chain Mail are nice
upgrades, but they are not worth buying as better stuff will soon be
available in other towns. Cruise the town to learn of an eyewitness to the
nabbing of the Princess, stating she was taken east while assuming you are
not good enough to be the one to rescue her.

Since east is where the Princess went, it is time to go east and follow up
on that lead. Go east, seeking a bridge that is almost directly east of
Loto's Tomb. Once this has been done, head southeast along the grassy plain
to find a bridge to cross. However, note that once this threshold is
crossed, the enemies will intensify significantly in strength. Turn north
along the grassy plain, entering the forest on a northeast angle to find the
village of Kol.

|________|_______|_______|

After finding the second most resistant armor in the game (Steel Armor), you
will not be able to afford it for a long time. Otherwise, nothing of
interest is to be found here, though a Warp Wing can be handy for getting
back to Tatangel Castle. Look around town, find out about the town of
Rimuldar and how it has Keys for sale, also taking time to check out the
dressers around the fountain to find Cloth Armor (sell it for cash) and a
STRSeed (which can help out your lowly attack power slightly). Another
thing to keep an eye out for is the PixyFlute, which is found four spaces
below the fountain, though it is not needed for a while, which means it will
take up a spot in your inventory while it waits for the right time (meaning
it is best to leave it where it is for now). Gather up any more info that
remains in this town (including a sighting of a beautiful woman in a cave to
the south), then exit town to prep for the next step in the journey.

                       o--------------------------o
                       | Chase For The Rain Staff |
                       o--------------------------o

Now that the northern towns have been explored, it is time to go after one
of the Mystical Items. Head west from Kol to find a coastline to follow
south to find a small pass leading west along the mountains. Next is a trek
north to find a shrine where a sage guards the Rain Staff, but he requires
proof of your Heroic abilities, needing you to bring the Silver Harp that
can summon monsters.

With this new quest in mind, fight monsters, gaining some extra armor (the
Iron Shield of Garinham is highly recommended) and experience in the process
(which will yield more defense, offensive ability, and possibly a spell or
two), then head south from Kol to find a marsh, which will sap your strength
(1 Hit Point per step) as you move east, finding the Marsh Cave!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor One ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A pretty simple passage south through the Marsh Cave, head down till a wall
appears, then head down along the wall, turning left at the first
opportunity to exit the darkness to set foot onto the southern island!
Move out on a southeast angle, cutting west underneath the first range of
mountains, but above the second range.  Once the range below starts moving
down, follow it back to the east (going along the south side of it),
eventually stumbling onto a small island with a single land bridge leading
to the town of Rimuldar!
Inside the town are a few points of interest, but let's start with the two
shops:
 ________ _______ _______      __________ _______ _________________
|  Name  | Price | Power |    |   Name   | Price |   Used Effect   |
|________|_______|_______|    |__________|_______|_________________|
| Copper |       |       |    |   Herb   |    10 |Recovers 20-30 HP|
| Sword  |   180 |   10  |    |__________|_______|_________________|
|________|_______|_______|    |  Torch   |     8 |Lights dungeons  |
|  Iron  |       |       |    |__________|_______|_________________|
|  Axe   |   560 |   15  |    |Warp Wing |    24 |Fly to Tatangel  |
|________|_______|_______|    |__________|_______|_________________|
| Steel  |       |       |
| Sword  |  1500 |   20  |
|________|_______|_______|
|  Iron  |       |       |
| Armor  |  1000 |   16  |
|________|_______|_______|
| Steel  |       |       |
| Armor  |  3000 |   24  |
|________|_______|_______|
| Magic  |       |       |
| Armor  |  7700 |   24  |
|________|_______|_______|
The Steel Sword is the third best weapon in the game, so purchasing it
should be a priority, though the Steel Armor vs. Magic Armor should be
decided upon how much leveling up you plan to do (if you will be doing a
lot, you should get the Magic Armor, but if you are looking to beat the
Dracolord sooner rather than later, just use the Steel Armor and live
without the regenerative properties of the Magic Armor).  If you need cash
for these great buys, the monsters outside of town are excellent sources, so
hanging around to level-up the Hero is not a bad idea.
Now that the typical aim of a new town is filled, bug the townspeople for
some interesting (and some not os interesting) stories, all the while
looking through things for free Items (A Warp Wing rests in one dresser).
Once the main area of the town has been raided, go back to the entrance to
the town, THIS time, head up along the moat around the town, following it
till the Hero finds a building, which sells Keys!  Buy a full complement
(which means get 6 of them), then look into the two vases for 123 Gold and
a DEFseed, then head back out of town.
Head north, passing through the Marsh Cave to appear on the northern shores
again.  Next up is a trek west to go to Garinham (though stopping off at
Tatangel to save and get a free magic refill from the generous castle wizard
is a good idea).  Once you have arrived, the Hero will be able to make use
of the Keys he bought by going into the large building that dwarfs the town.
Inside are a few people, some treasure to raid from a sarcastic merchant
(630 Gold, Copper Sword, and  a Torch), and a locked door which hold an
elderly woman who will give you a new key for wasting one.  Once the
exploration of this room is done, head to the northern wall, pushing against
it till the Hero is able to pass through, finding an old man guarding the
passage, who will let you past into Garin's Tomb!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor One ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Head up and to the right past the two small square section of walls, going
up through the opening, immediately turning right to follow that passage to
the very end. Once a wall blocks the way, turn upwards to look for a
passage to the left, then head up and left along the wall to find three
treasure chests containing a LifeAcorn, 537 Gold, and a Key. Now backtrack
to the right, going down and right till you can only move downwards,
bypassing some columns to find a locked door. use a key to open the way,
following the twisty passage to the staircase leading downwards.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor Two ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Head up along the wall, then go left, passing the first downward passage,
instead taking the stairs on the other side of the wall.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor Three ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Go left, cutting downwards by the water, following the passage till it
branches, where the passage up will take the Hero to a treasure chest
holding 343 Gold. Move downwards, then turn right to follow the passage all
the way to the end, and then turn upwards to bypass the first passage going
left to find the stairs.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor Two ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now back on the second floor, head left to find stairs that lead downwards.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor Three ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Head off up and to the right, bypassing some pillars on the way up, then
turning to the right to find the stairs leading to the next level.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor Four ~~~

This section is totally optional, and honestly, it does not yield any
particularly useful rewards (aside from Experience/Gold and a few Seeds).
Since a proper Hero (according to some guy in Rimuldar) should wear a Ring,
the Mountain Cave to the southwest of Tatangel Castle is where the War Ring
can be found. What does the War Ring do? Well, if worn on the Hero's
person, it will scare off lesser monsters, saving some fight time, but why
lose some experience? Regardless, if you want to do this, finish off this
section. Otherwise, skip on down to the next section, entitled "Girl In The
East? I Am THERE!".

From Tatangel Castle, go northwest to bypass some water, then head south
across a bridge. Continue south until a mountain range cuts off the Hero,
then follow it west until it ends, then go east along the bottom of it
(bypassing a swamp) to find the entrance to the Mountain Cave.

Move to the left, then go down to enter a new hallway, turning right to move
down the passage. Turn right and move along on an upward angle, reaching a
four way intersection, passing straight through. Move right, then go down
the passage till another intersection appears, this time send the Hero left
towards a lake, then skirt it along a route up and to the left around it,
finding a small room with a treasure chest containing 350 Gold. Now go down
and to the right, turning downward to find the passage leading left and then
up to an intersection. continue upwards to the next intersection, and then
turn left briefly, followed by going down the passage to follow it to a door
(use a Key to open it), which leads to the stairs leading downwards.

Head right through the narrow opening, then move down till the passage
twists to the right (follow it till a passge leading up appears). Follow
the aforementioned passage till the corridor moves left, following it until
a path down leads into a chamber with two treasure chests, one containing a
STRSeed, the other a MysticNut. Now move back into the previous corridor,
walking all the way up to find a wall, then go right till a passage that
heads downwards (take it). Inside is a treasure chest, the one holding the
scarer of monsters, the stylish of stylish in etiquette, the War Ring! Did
I get the message across that this Item is rather useless and has no true
benefit? Oh right, I did. Thanks.

Anyhow, to finish off the treasure crawling, return to the previous pathway,
moving right past the intersection to take the next path leading downwards
to a treasure chest holding an Iron Shield (if you have not bought one yet,
here is a free one, otherwise it will help for saving towards better
weapons/armors). Remember that intersection you just blazed through? Move
back to it, then go down, followed by going right, and then go up the long
path. Turn right, bypassing the first path leading upwards, then check the
next two paths leading upwards to find 670 Gold and a Torch.

Now the quest is done, so exit the cave, then head back to Tatangel Castle
to fill up and save your game.

Unlike the last time that the Hero came here, he will not be running
directly through the tunnel. Instead, head to the right, turning downwards
at the first opportunity. Look for a passage to the right, then follow that
passage downwards, moving along it as it has just one main passage (requires
a key as well, but you already bought a lot at Rimuldar, so no problem). As
the Hero moves along, he will suddenly be attacked by a Dragon!

Tougher than a normal Dragon (though you will not have faced a regular one
yet, so don't fret them in the future as much), come in with full Hit Points.
Attack with your weapon, landing as many blows as possible, while being ready
to use Heal when your Hit points get low. The problem is that the Dragon
likes to use Fire Breath attacks, which remove around 15-20 Hit Points, so
the use of a Sleep spell might be necessary to ensure the survival of the
Hero (just know is not always 100% effective, so it is a gamble in itself).

Go past the spot of the Dragon to find Lora, Princess of Tatangel! Take her
in your arms, then go outside the cave and use Return to go to the castle,
delivering her safely to her Father! Now speak to her, grabbing the LoraLuv
Item (Dost thou love her? But thou mu... DAMNIT! They removed that too!),
then head out of the castle.

The next objective for the Hero is go south, entering into areas he has yet
to traverse. Be sure to have some Keys, full HP/MP, and DO NOT enter the
first town that you see (more on this later).

Anyway, from Tatangel Castle, go northwest to bypass some water, then head
south across a bridge. Continue south until a mountain range cuts off the
Hero, at which point he should skirt them as he continues south. Follow the
shoreline that appears to find a bridge across a river, then turn south once
again to find another mountain range. If you wanted to go east into the
desert, the town of Domdora would appear, but you are not ready for that
place just yet. Instead, move south through the desert to find yet another
mountain range, which should be navigated around to the south side of it,
then move south and look for a bridge leading to the east.

Move northeast along the land, ignoring the first bridge that appears,
instead taking the second bridge that appears, crossing the march as the
Hero turns south. Here is the walled town of Mercado, but a massive monster
is guarding the entrance!

This imposing being can land crippling blows upon the Hero, making this a
rather tough fight to win. HOWEVER, if you are smart enough to have found
the PixyFlute by now (you did grab it from Kol, right?), this fight will be
a breeze. Start the battle by playing the PixyFlute, which will put the
brute to sleep, then attack for every turn that it remains asleep. If it
awakens, simply play the PixyFlute to subdue it again, then resume
attacking. Repeat this pattern as necessary, and soon the lumbering giant
will fall back to the earth from whence it was created!

Mercado is not walled, but it also boasts a bevy of shops, selling every
imaginable thing:

Also note that a key salesmen is by the Armor Shop selling the Flame Sword
and Silver Shield, making Mercado your true, one stop shop location. Move
around town, talking to people to learn of a great treasure buried in
Domdora, the coordinates for a fabulous treasure, and to see first hand the
troubles of a housewife, trying to decide what to make for dinner (you are
trying to save the world, and she bugs you about that... nice work lady).

That buried treasure in Domdora sounds like a good place to start, so
backtrack to the large desert the Hero passed through earlier, going into
the northeastern area of the sandy zone to find the ruins of Domdora. Note
that monsters run amok here, as the Dracolord has already managed to destroy
this town. Start off by going down the path, turning right with it, moving
to the right till some marsh appears. Go above the poisonous area, entering
into a couple ruined shops, and walk towards a patch of grass beyond the
marshy area, where a massively armored foe will attack!

This vicious fellow has one particularly nasty ability that can spell the
end for the Hero, which is his Sleep spell. To counter this, the Hero can
either try his own Sleep spell on the big bully, or he can try to inflict
StopSpell upon the big guy, removing his magical abilities. However, Sleep
is not the only ability of the big lug, as he can hit incredibly hard, so
have the Heal spell on standby to repair any wounds that are inflicted.

After winning the tough battle, step forward one step, search the grass by
the tree, and lay claim to the legendary armor that belonged to Loto! Equip
it immediately to increase the Hero's defense, to make him invulnerable to
damaging portions of the ground (marsh or harmful barrier tiles), and to
gain 1 Hit Point back for every step taken!

Upon exiting the wrecked town, head south once again, crossing the bridge
leading east, then move northeast along the land. Nowm instead of skipping
the first bridge (like you did earlier), go east across the bridge instead,
which will bring the hero upon a massive marsh in short order. Now, this is
the area of the buried treasure mentioned in Mercado, but you will not need
to search blindly. Instead, call upon Lady Lora by using the LoraLuv Item,
which will give the coordinates of Tatangel Castle with respects to the
location of the Hero. How is this helpful? Well, the treasure is
supposedly buried at 70 south, 40 east of Tatangel Castle, so use the
LoraLuv to locate 70 north, 40 west, then search the ground there to find
the Loto Seal!

Cast Return (or walk back if you are feeling energetic) to Tatangel Castle,
but instead of going directly to save, go into the western hallway of the
castle, going up past a locked door (it just hides some crappy treasure,
only grab it if you are desperate for some Gold) and a staircase to turn
right. Open the locked door that appears near some stairs, then go right
through the room to go back outside to find a vendor selling Keys (buy some
if you need them). Now, go along the wall, stepping out one space to the
right of it, and then go down along the wall and the moat to find the
basement, where the Sun Stone rests (the dressers here can also be raided
for a LifeAcorn and an Herb). Now exit, re-enter the castle, refill the
Hero's HP/MP, and go save to record all of your hard work.

With all three of the mythical treasures in hand, the Hero has reached the
time when he can finally visit the southern shrine and actually get treated
like a human being (instead of being banished like a peasant). Head east
from Tatangel Castle, entering the Marsh Cave to move down to the staircase.
Now on the southern continent, head southeast to find the shoreline, then
move south (bypassing the three mountain ranges in the area), eventually
arriving at a bridge. Go across, then go south to find another mountain
range, but this time follow it till a pass appears, allowing the Hero into
the shrine where the old wizard will see the truth via the Loto Seal (that
you are in fact a descendant of the legendary Loto), so he will make use of
the RainStaff and the Sun Stone to make the mesmorizing RainbwDrp!

With the RainbwDrp in hand, it is time to assault the Dracolord's Castle!
Head north to cross the bridge, then, either head north to Rimuldar to do
some shopping/stay at the Inn, or head northwest. Either way, you will
arrive in a desert that leads to a small stretch of water where two small
points of land almost touch. Here is where the Hero will need to pull out
that RainbwDrp, using it to make a bridge! Now head across the bridge,
following the pathway ahead to find the impassive keep of the Dracolord
looming, like an evil fog that will not dissipate!

ignoring all side paths until the Hero reaches a wall with only the right
passage open (go right for great Dracolord hunting!). Keep moving right,
but keep an eye out for the first passage leading down, as this one must be
followed, continuing past all side passages, arriving at a stairway leading
downwards.

If you would like some treasure, then go up and right to find two Treasure
Chests (containing 503 Gold and an Herb), but as you can see it is not
really a necessary side trip to make (but go for it if you need to open
every Treasure Chest in the game). Anyhow, move right from the staircase,
turning upwards when the area opens up, huggin the wall and going up,
followed by moving left (still following the wall) to reach a staircase,
again leading deeper into the Dracolord's Castle).

allowing the hero to go right and up to find a staircase leading back up a

Go down and right to reach another stairway that leads up one floor.

Although you likely did it already, step up once and right once (in any

Walk straight upwards, reaching a Treasure Chest, this one holding the final
piece of equipment of the Legenday Loto, Loto's Sword! Equip this mythical
blade before backtracking through the previous three staircases, arriving
back on the deepest floor reached to this point.

~~~ Floor Five ~~~
Move straight downwards, turning right when the downward path is exhausted,
followed by moving up briefly to find a continuing of the passage leading
right.  Continue along the route until a passage opens up above the hero,
at which point turning upwards will lead to a staircase, carrying the hero
deeper into the lower depths of this crypt of evil.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Walk along the passageways ahead, fighting all the monsters off, eventually
reaching another downwards staircase to descend.

Walk directly to the right here, again brawling with the incredibly strong
beats that populate the area, finding the final staircase that goes deeper
into the castle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor Eight ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The first portion of the floor will deal with the Treasure Chests that can
be raided, but they are more Items that are not really useful to the Hero at
this point (however, it will be covered for those who like to collect all
the Items).  Head straight upwards, ignoring the passage to the left and
moving with the passage, finding a door to open up, revealing nine Treasure
Chests.  Go ahead and raid the Treasure Chests, they contain the following
bounty (starting with the Treasure Chest furthest to the right, then moving
in a clockwise circle): Dvl Belt, MysticNut, Herb, 417 Gold, empty, Key,
empty, 535 Gold, and a Warp Wing.
When ready to advance onwards, take the first passage leading left that is
encountered, followed by going upwards along the route on the left, followed
by moving right when the wall opens up to a new passage.  Move past the
freaky pillars, following the cobbled floor to find a downward path that
twists through a waterway to turn left to find a throne room!  Inside is the
Dracolord, so heal up the Hero before stepping up to speak to the one that
causes so much trouble, and engage him in conversation.  After he offers
half of the world to the Hero, reject his offer (saying YES will cause the
Hero to black out and be returned to the castle from whence he came), which
will have a second offer made (again, refuse this offer or black out to the
starting castle), which leads into battle!
The DracoLord makes use of a few attacks, whether they are physical blows,
the nasty spell of Firebane, the annoyance of the Sleep spell, and he can
repair damage taken with the powerful Healmore spell.  The most basic of
strategies is best used here, which is to attack, attack, attack, only
deviating to heal damage dealt by the old bat.  Keep up this style of
attack, as the Dracolord will stop healing himself long enough for the Hero
to knock him into next week.  Or not...
With his true colours and form revealed, the Dracolord will begin to attack
with regular attacks, breathing flames, and breathing intense flames.
Obviously the worst attack is the intense flames, which can deal around 60
Hit Points of damage, though he will no longer be able to heal his wounds
with healmore (thankfully).  To take him down, start off by healing any
leftover damage from the previous bout, followed by attacking until Hit
Points reach the 60-90 range, at which point a Healmore spell should be
used.  Repeat the pattern as necessary, finishing off the beast, removing
his ill omen from the land!
to tour the world, visiting townsfolk, hearing their words of praise, and
will have occurred (particularly the massive marsh in the southern reaches
of the continent).  Once you have had your fill, go visit the King, refuse
6) This section will examine each monster, listing the rough Hit Point
   totals (these fluctuate slightly for most monsters, so the general area
   will be listed), Extra Abilities (things other than physical blows),
   Gold, and Experience.
   Many thanks to FAQ author "Shdwwrym", as he allowed me to check some of
   my monster info against his, which allowed me to make more accurate
   assessments in my stats.  Specifically, he helped me with the Golem, the
   "special" Dragon (marked with a + beside his name), and narrowing the
   DracoLord's Hit Points down.
----------------------Dragon Warrior II Walkthrough-------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
7) This section will cover the meat of the Dragon Warrior II portion of the
   FAQ, the walkthrough that will guide the player through the game to
   victory!
            o-----------------------------------------------o
            | Ill News Indeed... So Go Clobber Some Slimes! |
            o-----------------------------------------------o
Earning their pay, the guards of Lorasia let the poor guard suffer when he
could be telling his "grave" news (I love foreshadowing... however
unintentional!), but do eventually get the dire news to the King.  Prince
Lorasia will of course immediately be volunteered for this quest, but unlike
the King in Dragon Warrior I, this King will actually bestow a weapon to his
charge, not sending him out into the wilderness to fight bare fisted!
So, first step is to gain a level or two, saving 40 extra Gold to buy a
Leather Shield.  Head back into the castle, making sure to stop by the Item
Shop to see the following wares (note that the Power and Character columns
refer to equippable Items, while Used Effect refers to an Item that can be
used, which sometimes includes equippable items):
Note that for the "Character" section, the following code will be used for
which character can use that Weapon/Armor/Shield/Helmet:
   H = Prince of Lorasia
   P = Prince of Cannock
   M = Princess of Moonbrook
With the extra defensive power, Prince Lorasia is ready to
go northwest, towards Cannock.  Move out between the grassy wisps and
foothills, turning north when the large forest appears, following the water
northwestward to some foothills.  Continue northwestward through the
foothills to find a small stretch of mountains, which lead west to Cannock!
              | Where's A Good Royal When You Need One!? |
              o------------------------------------------o
Cannock is an intriguing place, but before doing any sightseeing, duty calls
and the Prince of Lorasia must pay respects to the King of Cannock!  Upon
conferring in a regal and eloquent way (from the Prince of Lorasia, it is
very likely he just grunted the whole time while smashing things with his
weaponry), it is revealed that the Prince of Cannock has already set out to
join up with Lorasia at the Hero's Spring!
After receiving this news, it is time to explore town and check out the
local hospitalities:
Note that for the "Character" section, the following code will be used for
           | Spring Forth Heroically To... The Hero's Spring |
           o-------------------------------------------------o
After upgrading equipment (feel free to hang around and get a slightly
better weapon, but note that it is by no means needed yet), stay at the
Inn, and then head out into the wilderness to start out for the Hero's
Spring (good place to go since you are a Hero and all).  Anyhow, trek
eastward along the top side of the mountains, passing through desert to
find a grassy plain to continue eastward, reaching a bridge.  Pass over
the ornate structure and start northeastward through the large forest,
arriving at the portal into the earth, the home of the Hero's Spring!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor One ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Start out by going up and right while following the wall on the right,
reaching an underground pond. Move up, right, and then down past the pond,
walking directly downwards into a room with a Treasure Chest, which holds an
Herb. Retrace the steps to outside the room, going right to find the
corridor twisting downwards, followed by jaunting to the left to enter the
room that opens up above, finding a second Treasure Chest, this one holding
88 Gold.

Backtrack to the underground pond, this time moving upwards to find a
passage to the right that find a staircase to a fellow warrior, though he has
nothing of note to say (go get baptized, kick some ass in battle,
Christianity rules!, etc.). To continue through the cave, continue upwards
and follow the main passage to find some funky looking rocks serving as
monoliths for entrance to the Hero's Spring. However, before going inside,
continue left to find an Antidote in the Treasure Chest.

After taking the first step towards God, say you are indeed seeking the
Prince of Cannock, which will bring about a response about the wanderluster
having already departed for Lorasia Castle (no doubt thinking you are still
sitting on the thronw there in Leather Armor)! Anyhow, backtrack to the
entrance, and head back out to track down that whimsical cousin of
Lorasia's!

       o----------------------------------------------------------o
       | Marco... Cannock! Marco... Cannock! Marco... CANNOCK! |
       o----------------------------------------------------------o

Go southwest from the cave, ignoring the bridge and skirting the mountains
until the forest opens the way eastward. Bypass the swampy area to get onto
a grassy plain, turning south to go down the coast, crossing a bridge, and
then continue south to find a shrine. Inside is an old man who speaks of
two types of Keys, the Silver Key (found in the Lack Cave, east of Cannock),
and the Gold Key (lost to the world somewhere). However, since the Prince
of Cannock is the first priority for the simple warrior Prince of Lorasia,
best file that one away under "L" for "Later!".

Head northwest along the left coast, continuing northwest when the water
leads west, cutting through the forest and foothills to a bridge. Walk over
the grasslands, arriving at the Lorasia Castle fairly quickly, so enter and
go find the Prince of Cannock in the throne room... except the simpleton has
now heard you were at Cannock and has headed there! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGH!

Head northwest from Lorasia, following the grassy plains to reach the large
forest, where the water will lead Lorasia northwestward. When the foothills
appear, enter them on the northwest trajectory, finding some mountains that
lead west, depositing the Prince of Lorasia back at Cannock!

Head inside, bowling over any fool in the way, bee-lining straight for the
throne room, only to find out that Prince Can't I Wander Forever has not yet
arrived back to his father's throne room! This means that you somehow passed
him en route to the Castle, so maybe he took the long cut and went through a
small town that is not on the direct route?

Head outside and start off towards the south, continuing straight southward
until the water cuts off the land, turning east to find a small town by the
name of Leftwyne. No doubt feeling a bit run down and ready to drink (in
hopes to drive all memories of this Prince from the mind of the simple
Lorasia), head for the local Inn for some food, mead, and maybe an
entertainer or sweet looking serving wench. However, upon entering,
Lorasia will immediately recognize one of the patrons, so rush over to the
green fellow and strike up a conversation, getting the elusive Prince
Cannock into the fold!

          o---------------------------------------------------o
          | Cannock...? More Like Can't Knock Anything Down! |
          o---------------------------------------------------o

Start off the newfound teamship by checking out the rather pathetic set-up
Prince Cannock has, so the first plan should be to outfit the fellow with
some new equipment. Head for the local Item and Armor shops:

Note that for the "Character" section, the following code will be used for
which character can use that Weapon/Armor/Shield/Helmet:

The two Armor additions are recommended before heading out, which will
assure that Prince Cannock will survive with his weaker Hit Points, though a
better weapon for either Prince would be helpful as well.

           | Spelunking? Exploring? Easy Pickings? YEAH!! |
           o-------------------------------------------------o

Once equipment and Level raising has been achieved to your desired level,
move west from Cannock until some water in a small bay appears. Turn north
and skirt the water while moving westward, reaching a bridge, which will
turn into forest to traverse to pass through a narrow area between two
mountain ranges. Continue along the western trajectory, watching the north
to spot a bridge, which should be crossed to enter into the Lake Cave.

Move down and turn left, looking for a passage leading down to a Treasure
Chest, holding an AGLSeed. After returning to the main hallway, turn left
to find an underground lake, at which point the duo should head downwards,
ignoring the first passage on the left. Instead, take the passage on the
right, going down to grab the SlotToken from the Treasure Chest. Retreat to
the passage on the left that was previously skipped, going left and then
down, reaching a stairway to the next floor.

~~~ Floor Two ~~~
Move left to find a passage going downwards, taking the first passage on the
right to locate a Treasure Chest that holds a LifeAcorn.  Back in the main
passage, go down and take the first side path, finding an Antidote
squirreled away in a Treasure Chest, followed by going down the main hall to
take the left passage, locating two Treasure Chests (holding 243 Gold and a
Warp Wing).  Head right from these Treasure Chests, going down through a
Couple chambers, finding the Silver Key just lying on the ground by a small
spring!  With the Key in hand, head back for the surface!
                | Onwards To The Big Rock And A New Town! |
                o-----------------------------------------o
Retrace your steps to Cannock, bashing in the "so-called" brains of all of
those who oppose the Princely duo, arriving back at Prince Cannock's
stomping grounds (though this entire continent could be called that...
thanks to the wild goose chase he has led Lorasia on).  Anyway, refill and
visit the King to save the progress, stocking up on any needed Items,
setting out for that bustling... collection of shacks called Leftwyne.
However, when the shoreline appears after the southern trip, turn west
instead, moving up the coast, locating a shrine.  Step inside and Prince
Cannock will open the path ahead with his charms, allowing the duo to enter
the Channel Cave!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor One ~~~
If the passage on the left is taken, it will lead to a small island of no
use, so it is best to ignore this option.  Instead, head downwards, turning
left with the cave as it does so, finding the stairs to take up to a brand
new continent!
Back in the overworld, head directly south, locating a river, which the
heroes should then follow southwest, passing through foothills, locating a
mountain range.  Continue southwest along the mountains, continuing off to
the southwest when the mountains disappear, soon arriving at the fairly nice
town of Hamlin!
Inside is an Inn that might be needed, more people to speak to (including a
sage like fellow who can also save the game... just like King!), an oddly
sad but friendly dog, but perhaps the best feature of this town is the old
Shops, as they have some great stuff for sale:
Prince of Lorasia (Steel Sword) and PrinceCannock (Spear).  Add onto that
Steel Armor and Steel SHield for Prince Lorasia, and he will become even
more of a tank than he was before!  Get the weapons first, as Lorasia does
not need the better defense that badly at this point.
             | I'm Sorry, But The Princess... Is Where Exactly? |
             o--------------------------------------------------o
After talking through town to learn of where Castle Moonbrook is located,
it is time to go survey the dastardly deed done by Hargon firsthand.  Head
south from Hamlin, crossing the bridge, followed by heading west until the
two royals reach a sandy beach.  Head south from this locale to spot some
marsh, which is poisoned earth that will damage the heroes as they cross its
threshold.  However, Hargon has placed it through out the Castle Moonbrook
with his attack, so the two must bravely step through the noxious fumes to
enter the Castle Moonbrook.
Head straight up to the throne room, speaking to the spirit of the former
King, who informs the pair that Princess Moonbrook is now cursed into the
form of a dog, which is just a shameful thing to happen (sure seems like one
of those sad dogs was hanging around Hamlin).  After this somewhat ethereal
plane disturbing conversation, head left through the destroyed castle,
ignoring the now empty Treasure Chests, finding a second soul, who speaks of
a swamp within site of two bridges, where the Lar Mirror lies hidden.
Although the site seeing advice is nice enough, the Lar Mirror means nothing
to the two, so head left to go outside the wall, following the broken path
downwards until they cross some marsh to find a passage to the right.  After
crossing more marsh, going down some stairs to find a barely alive soldier,
who says the curse upon the Princess Moonbrook can only be undone by using
the Lar Mirror on the afflicted girl!
Exit the castle quickly (you never know when a large group of Zombies will
gang up on the two adventurers), turning eastward (for once) to find a bay of
water, which the two should cut underneath.  Go northeast now, bypassing the
bridge (do not cross it)to find a four square patch of marsh, which is
indeed within site of the two bridges (just like the ghost tour guide
said!).  Now search the top-right patch of Marsh, revealing the Lar Mirror!
With the curse breaking, reflecting object in tow, trek westward towards
Moonbrook Castle once more, turning north to hit the sandy beach, and then
turn east to return towards Hamlin!  Once in the town, head towards the old
sage who saves the game for the two Princes, but instead move towards the
sad dog.  To break the curse upon the Princess, DO NOT SPEAK TO THE DOG, but
rather USE THE LAR MIRROR WHILE FACING THE SAD DOG!  This will reveal
Princess Moonbrook, in all her Princessy glory, not even requiring a trip
through multiple castles to find out she is elsewhere!
Knife available as a very slight weapon upgrade, it is best to just save the
cash, perhaps splurging for some of that expensive armor for Prince Lorasia
instead.
Now some leveling is likely a good idea, giving Princess Moonbrook a level
or two of stats to get under her belt, in addition to a couple spells (Sleep
and Infernos). Once this somewhat annoying procedure is finished, fill up
the troops and get ready to move out to new areas of exploration!
Move northeast from Hamlin, going between the river and the mountains,
finding two bridges, so skip the first one and continue north to cross the
second bridge.  Once across the water, head southeast, exiting the forest to
keep moving south across the ocean blown beaches.  After entering the
forest, make a foray west briefly to find two bridges, crossing either of
them to enter some foothills, turning south to reach another expanse of
forest, continuing south to cross three more bridges.  Follow either the
sand bar or the grassy plain, as both will lead to the Tower of Winds!
Head back to Hamlin to refill the HP/MP and save (whether this is done by
hiking back or by using the Return Spell is up to you, the gamer), followed
by setting out to continue further into the adventure.  Start out by going
west along the watery coast, cutting south to reach Moonbrook (stopping in
with princess Moonbrook to speak to the King and the soldier in the basement
for different interactions if so desired), followed by heading southwest
from the castle crossing a bridge to reach a shrine.  Step inside and pass
through to the far side of the watery channel.
The following area has a fairly high rate of Metalies tagging along into
fights, making it an ideal area to get some quick epxerience points (1000
extra experience points each if the royals manage to kill one), so
concentrate all attacks on the slimey character and hopeit stays long enough
to get cut down.  Head northwest to find a massive desert, but continue on
To start off, buying two Evade Cloaks (one for Cannock, one for Moonbrook)
are an absolute must, as this is insanely good armor for these two.
Although Lorasia would get a slight defensive boost from the same Armor
purchase, the cost is not really justifiable (nor really needed), so best to
not do that.  The Wizard Wand also makes a decent weapon for Moonbrook,
meaning she can help out with physical attacks in additon to her repitoire
of spells.  Amulets will help with resistance versus status effects like
Poison or Sleep or Paralysis, so if the extra cash is handy one or two of
these might make a solid purchase as well (plus they are oh SO stylish).
After moving abut town, saving thegame, learning the locl tradition of them
hoarding their boats and not letting anyone (even three royals who rule this
area of the world) to use a boat, head past the Weapon & Armor Shop to find
a girl being accosted by two nasty looking monsters!  Step in their and take
them out in a heroic fashion!
Since there are two of them, the rewards listed above will double after the
fight.  Anyhow, to take them down fast with minimal fuss, hit them hard with
Lorasia's sword arm, Cannock's Spear, and Moonbrook's Infernos spell (does
not always connect however, so it is a gamble).  However, Moonbrook will
also serve as the healer, so after any round of attack where someone is
hurt, have them defend and let Moonbrook (or Cannock, if Moonbrook is the
one hurt) cast a healing spell to get them back into tip top shape.  Watch
out for the nasty Fire Breath these two have, also noting they can StopSpell
the party as well (but this spell will rarely work, so it is not a true
concern).
The girl is so grateful that the three heroic royals saved her, she will
take them to her grandfather, who will give the crew his boat (on loan
though... what a drag), opening almost the entire world to the descendants
of Loto!
After leaving he port, head east to bump into a land mass, turning north to
follow the coast, reaching the eastern trajectory of the land mass, so head
east along with it.  Once the land finally starts to cut southward, follow
it again, moving west through the narrow channel that passes between the two
entrances to the Marsh Cave.  Sail further down the waterway, reaching
Tantagel Castle, the old stomping grounds of the founder of the three
countries of Lorasia, Cannock, and Moonbrook!
Step inside town and go visit the people, learning that the old town has
been combined into the castle for defensive purposes, the King is in hiding,
and that the shops are worth checking out:
near mythical Loto's Sword!  Now, who should wield this fine weapon?  Well,
since the Prince of Lorasia just purchased a brand spanking new Hammer to
bring painful poundings to the opposition, the Prince of Cannock (who should
still be wielding a Spear) should take the mighty weapon in hand, greatly
increasing his damage dealt in battle!  Now retun to Floor Five, taking all
Head up towards the deadly Barrier Tiles, only going as many as steps as the
royals can take (with each step removing a whopping 7 Hit Points per step),
pausing when they run low on Hit Points to heal them, reaching a Treasure
trove, holding 150 Gold, a WorldMap, Steel Armor, and a STRSeed.  Now, if
the Magic Points are healtyhe enough to perform another crossing, step
across the Barrier Tiles, but if too weak, use the Outside spell and fill
up in Tantagel before reutning to this floor.
Whichever option that is chosen, return here to go up, then right, and then
downwards through poisoned earth and bridges, stepping into a hallway. Head
left and go speak to the descendant of the DracoLord, who will... tell you
a secret if you agree to take out Hargon!?  Yes, it appears the DracoLord
will not be a source of any probelms this time around, so once ready, use
the Outside spell and return to Tantagel to heal up, sell unwanted Items,
and get geared up tp go after the five Seals mentioned by the DracoLord!
head outside and get on board the ship, heading east to go through the
narrow opening, followed by turning north to sail along the coast.  Turn
west as the land mass does, following it till it turns south. When this
occurs, use the WorldMap to get the ship to Lianport, turning the ship
northwards.
While sailing, carefully watch out for a suspicious patch of water that will
be sparkling away in the sunlight.  Move the ship towards that spot,
searching it while residing upon it, bringing up the Treasure.  Now sail
south toward Lianport, going inside the port to go sail down through the
Silver Door, recieving the Echo Flute as compensation for returning the
until the ship is located roughly around the marshes and the mountains, at
which point the ship should head south.  The island that appears holds the
Lighthouse, so get off the ship and head inside the Lighthouse to start the
quest for the Five Seals!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Floor One ~~~
After talking to the soldier outside to learn how the Five Seals are not
physical Items (rather they are "markings of the soul"), head inside to go
right down the long hallway.  Turn upwards to stroll past the first opening
opening in the crumbled wall that appears.  Head left, going down through
the first opening that appears, going left past the next opening to find a
left hand portal to go through, turning downwards, walking the entire way to
the bootom corner of the Lighthouse.
Move right, going through the opening above before resuming the rightward
movement, taking the second opening above the group.  Now move right and up
along the hallway, entering the covered area to see a staircase, but bypass
it and go up into the room above, raiding the Treasure Chest that lies
within for thr 503 Gold it holds.  Exit this room, going down past the same
stairs that were passed on earlier, seeing a second set of stairs, at which
              o-------------------------------------------o
The first job on the list is to go after Gold Key, as many doors that have
been passed along the way were gold framed.  Head north to reach Alfregard's
southern shores, heading east to wrap around the landmass, moving north
along the coast.  Once the coast of Alfregard starts to move westward,
continue north to the landmass above, following it westward till the way
north opens up.
Once the ship has wrapped around into the southern sea, use the WorldMap to
find the small island (three dots) in the southeast corner of the map,
setting sail for it.  Periodically check the WorldMap, honing in on the two
islands, holding a shrine and a town.  Enter the town of Zahan first,
talking to the locals to learn various things, followed by speaking to the
dog in town.  It will move to a new location, so search the spot in front of
it to obtain the Gold Key!  Now it is time to check out the local shop if
you need any supplies:
Once ready, head back to the ship, using it to reach the shrine on the
island, going inside to take the Traveler's Gate, arriving in Lorasia
Castle!  Head right, bypassing the main hall that leads to the throne room,
instead going into the covered building to go through the Gold Door, finding
six Treasure Chests with the following Items inside:  MysticNut, Loto Seal,
STRSeed, 1195 Gold, LifeAcorn, and an Herb.
After using the nice permanently stat improving Items, head back through the
Traveler's Gate, getting back onto the ship, and setting sail for the small
chain of islands in the west.  When the chain is reached, look for an island
surrounded by mountains,with just one entry point being avialable.  Step
into the sandy area, going to the one patch of forest, searching it to find
the WorldLeaf!  With this mighty Item in hand, any character can be revived
at full Hit Points!  Only one can be carried at a time, but once it is used,
another may be claimed from this spot, so do not forget how to find this
spot, as it is highly handy Item to have in your possession!
Continue westward, finding a larger land mass, following its southern coast
closely while watching the land, looking for a town in a grassy plain.  Get
off the ship and walk into the town, finding a locked entry way, but since
the Gold Key is now in the posession of the royals, they can gai entry to
the town.  Talk to the locals, hearing of a special Item that might be for
Wow!  Three shops to deal with here, but the first stop should definitely be
the shop that has that blank space in the inventory.  Inquire about this
Item, and the dealer will sell a Jail Key to the party for the low price of
2000 Gold!  With this key in hand, doors that have bars can now be opened!
After that shuld be a visit to the Weapons & Armors Shop, as it holds some
amazing buys:
-Lorasia should buy a Light Sword
-Cannock should buy a Light Sword, Heal Shield, and Fur Robe
I know that these things are wildly expensive and not all can be purchased
now, but buy what can be bought for now, keeping this place in mind as the
Gold needed is acquired!
Next stop in town is the local jailto try out the new Jail Key, speaking to
the old fellow to find out that the Evil Statue will open the way to Rhone,
followed by checking the now empty cell that was once occupied by the thief
Lagos.  You will no doubt see the hole in the floor, indicating the fellow
has dug his way out, so walk through the darkness of the wall to find Lagos,
who will surrender the Dam Key to Lorasia and company!
Exit the town and get back onto the ship, moving east to get back into the
chain of small islands, going to the eastmost island, which holds the Fire
Shrine.  Upon stepping inside, go around the outside of the building, using
the Echo Flute to locate the Seal that it reveals to be near, searching the
ground at the base of the tree to find the Sun Seal!
Next up for the royals is to take the rightevt Traveler's Gate here, getting
transported to the shrine in southern Alfregard that made the RainbwDrp in
the original Dragon Warrior, using the Loto Seal to gain acess to the Loto
Helmet for Prince Lorasia!
Back at the ship, it is time to finally turn northwards, sailing towards the
large island on the WorldMap, which will be surrounded by reefs and
mountains.  Head for the western portion of the island, finding a river to
sail down into a natural harbour, where the ship can be left behind,
allowing the party to go northwest to enter Osterfair Castle!
Upon entering, go straight upwards, then left, and then down, finding a
Traveler's Gate.  Do not neter it however, instead face the black wall and
press the A Button, which will open up the hidden Gold Door, allowing the
party to get inside the Weapon and Armor Shop, where the two Treasure Chests
can be raided for the Gaia Armor (great protection for Lorasia) and a Knife
(sell for some Gold).  Backtrack almost the entrie way back to the entrance,
but take the path past the lovely ladies to enter the arena of Osterfair.
Heal up all the royals to maximum Hit Points, followed by speaking to the
King and accept his challenge, entering a battle to win a grand prize!
SaberLion
=========
H.P.: 90-92
Exp.: 128
Gold: 55
Simply put, this is not a fair fight.  The SaberLion does hit hard, but the
party will be able to heal up any damage it inflicts.  Have Prince Lorasia
and Prince Cannock attack continuously, while Princess Moonbrook casts
Defense on the first turn, followed by healing up every attack.  This fight
should not last longer than two or three rounds.
Speak to the King afterwards, claiming the Moon Seal!  Next up are the local
shops, so feel free to look around:
Note that for the "Character" section, the following code will be used for
which character can use that Weapon/Armor/Shield/Helmet:
   H = Prince of Lorasia
   P = Prince of Cannock
   M = Princess of Moonbrook
Although The Magic Armor does have a nice upside of magic resistance,
nothing here is as nice as what Wellgarth had (mmmm... Fur Robe goodness),
so best to just get moving on.  Next is a trip northwards, finding the
starting continent of the game, so follow the west coast of this landmass,
quickly coming upon Lorasia Castle.  Head inside and fill up at the Inn,
save the game, and then head for the covered room on the right side of the
castle, going through the Silver Door to find stairs leading to the
dungeons.  Open the Barred Door where the Barrier Tiles are, casting
StepGuard (if you have it) to protect the party, and then go speak to the
evil fellow who is in this cell, entering into battle!
=====
Magus
=====
H.P.: 175
Exp.: 734
Gold: 170
Magus is a magician of incredible skill, boasting the Defense spell to
weaken the party's physical resistance, the Increase spell to strengthen his
physical resistance, and the Explodet spell, which is the most powerful
target-all attack spell in the game!  Start out by attacking with the two
Princes while Princess Moonbrook lays a Defense spell upon Magus.  From the
second round onwards, Moonbrook will play healer, with Cannock assisting if
Explodet keeps getting used, while Lorasia attacks constantly with
assistance from Cannock when he can add in an attack.  Keep the pressure on
Magus, and he will soon go down in defeat!
For defeating the vile foe, the Bolt Wand will become property of the party,
which is the absolute best weapon for Princess Moonbrook!  In addition to
this is the nice bonus of searching the ground where the party stands to
find an AGLSeed!
Head back into the ship, sailing on a northwest trajectory along the coast,
reaching a beach to go by, followed by sailing around a small peninsula.
Get off the boat here, heading north to find Cannock Castle.  Head inside
the castle, looking for the Gold Door, which can now be opend to reveal the
Treasure Chest within that holds Loto's Shield!
Head south back to the ship, gettong on board yet again (yes, I know, this
is getting pretty old), setting sailing to the west to find a small river.
Sail down the river, following the twisty path until the mountains block
the way, so disembark and walk southwest through the foothills, reaching
Hamlin.  Enter the building with the Gold Door, passing through the jail to
find out that the Five Seals summon an elemental at the Spirit Shrine, which
will bestow a great gift.  Head back inside the kail to open the Barred
Doors, getting into a fight with the monsters locked inside!
======
Ozwarg
======
H.P.: 69-73
Exp.: 159
Gold: 121
Double the Experience and Gold after the fight, since the stat list for
just a single Ozwarg.  Ozwargs are similar to Gremlins, but they are FAR
better with their spells (HealMore, Firebal, and StopSpell) as well as
having more Hit Points.  Since the two are listed on seperate attack lines,
gang upall three attacks in the first round one to destroy it, followed by
repeating the same attack on the second one.  If any healing needs to be
done, have Moonbrook perform the duty, though it StopSpell hits her, Cannock
will have to fill in at this role.
After defeating the monsters, search the top-right corner of the cell,
revealing the Water Seal!  This leaves just one more Seal to find, but as
the fellow in Lorasia Castle's jail told the party, it is on the road to
Rhone.  This means that the next step is to find the EvlStatue, but first
one more sidequest bit to accomplish.
Head back up the river to go south along the coast.  Make the long trip down
the cost to find the WorldLeaf tree island, then head due east from the
bottom of it, going south about six squares while doing so.  Eventually the
ship will reach the village of Zahan (where the Gold Key was hidden), so
head inside, cast StepGuard when the Barrier Tiles are reached, and go raid
the two Barred Door rooms, finding a Wizard Ring and a Holy Loom.
Return to the ship again, setting sail on a southeast trajectory.  Checking
on the WorldMap periodically, the ship should start to draw near to some
small island in the northeast corner of the map, so head east to wrap around
to the western portion of the map, heading south once the northern tip of
the continent that holds Lianport is below.  Sail past Lianport, reaching
the waterway that cuts between the two Drakhorn Towers.  Enter the northern
tower and head up to the third floor, moving two steps left and one step up
to find a spot to search, which holds the Dew Yarn!
               | Moon Shards And The Royals Who Want One |
               o-----------------------------------------o
Head south from the Drakhorns (go on the western coast of the continent),
getting past the landmass to move east to reach a new landmass.  A river
should be located right in front of the ship, so sail northwest to find a
second river to sail up, winding through the twisty passage to the end of
it to leave the ship.  Walk west towards a marsh, turning north to enter the
foothills, turnign west as the mountains dictate, following the corridor
between the impassible mountains/water, eventually reaching the village of
Tuhn!
Inside Tuhn are a few points of interest, so start off by entering the Gold
Door locked building, finding the master robe maker to give him the Holy
Loom and Dew Yarn, getting him started on creating the Water Robe.  Next up
is a visit tothe northern portion of town, walking upwards from the Inn/Item
Shop, crossing the grass to find a Barred Door to open, revealing a lock for
a waterway, so use the Dame Key to make the river flow anew!  Finally, check
out the wares that are for sale at the various shops:
Note that for the "Character" section, the following code will be used for
which character can use that Weapon/Armor/Shield/Helmet:
   H = Prince of Lorasia
