Ok, first things first. I know that this section is boring, but I want you
to read this carefully before enjoying the guide. It's all I'll ever ask of
you, so I don't think I'm asking for much now am I? If you don't intend to
accept my terms, then you're wasting my time, AND your own.
If you don't intend to follow my rules, shut this window down now!
If you do intend to follow my terms, please read ahead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This guide has been brought to you by Masterplayer Creepglitch and is
absolutely and completely FREE of charge! You do not have to pay any
cents/dollars, öre/kronor, pennies/pounds or whatever you use as money,
to view it or use it. If you had to pay in order to read this,
then someone has failed BIG TIME to follow my rules!
Now, this is important so listen up!
With your help, I can prevent almost all misuse and abusive behaviour done
to this guide. If you see this document on a site that isn't listed as
being allowed to host it, please let me know and I'll make sure that
the site in question removes it immediately! But as you probably understand,
I can't spend all day looking for this guide on every site I come across.
Therefore, I would like to ask of you to be at least a litte vigilant as you
browse about in cyberspace. If you have any suspicions about this, please let
me know, and help keep our world a nice place to live in.
Also, if a site tries to charge you money for viewing this guide, shoot me
an e-mail and tell me all about it. That way, I can take action and make 'em
FEEL the consequences of trying to put money in their own pockets with the
help of MY hard work!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
About the use of my guide; here is what you may do:
<>==================== PLEASE DO ========================<>
- Print this guide out for PERSONAL use only.
- Save it to your harddrive AS LONG AS IT
REMAINS UNEDITED AND UNSPOILED!
- Send me e-mails asking questions about the game.
- Ask me for my permission to host this guide on
your site.
- Tell me about things that I've missed out,
don't know about or mistakes I've made when
writing this guide.
<>=======================================================<>
The things listed above are perfectly acceptable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things that you may NEVER EVER do:
<>====================== NEVER DO =======================<>
- Claim this guide as your own, whether it be partly,
or the whole thing. You may likewise not try to
reproduce any parts of it. Plagiarism is a crime!
- Host this guide on any site WITHOUT my permission.
Do not try to fake a permission and claim I
gave it and forgot; IT WILL NOT WORK!!
- Modify any of the contents in this guide.
- Put money in your own or somebody else's pocket
with the help of this guide, either by charging
money for visitors to view it, or simply selling
it in printed versions.
- Remove or modify my nickname ASCII.
- Copy, steal, modify or "borrow" any ASCII Art found
in this guide.
<>=======================================================<>
Should you do anything listed above, then I'll hunt you down and talk
some SERIOUS sense into you with the help of my fists! And believe me,
I'm very, VERY persistant!
Remember that becoming the target of my anger and disappointment is not the
only punishment you will receive if you decide to do something that's both
drastic and unacceptable. If you rip off this guide, whether it be partly
or the whole thing, and either claim it as your own or try to make money
out of it, you're violating copyright law and will be punished in accordance.
You will likewise be penalized in accordance to law if your abusive behaviour
compromises this documents structural intergrity. That is, you either damage
or modify it in some way.
Also remember that I will refuse to accept responsibility for all consequences
and issues that might arise if a third-party user (like you) misuses this
document.
So, please try to respect all this, ok? Believe me, it'll save both me and
yourself a lot of unnecessary trouble.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following sites, as of this final version, have my permission to host
this guide:
<>====OK==== APPROVED SITES ====OK====<>
<>====OK========================OK====<>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below are sites that have my guide in them WITHOUT my permission.
All sites listed below have been forever marked as LOSER SITES by me:
<>====( ;P)==== LOSER SITES ====( ;P)====<>
N/A
<>====( ;P)=====================( ;P)====<>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When sending me an e-mail, think of the following:
<>=================== PLEASE FOLLOW =======================<>
- Stick to facts.
- Add "Zelda guide" in the subject.
- DO NOT use bad or immature words.
- DO NOT use shorthand words (da, u, r, 2, 4 etc.)
- DO NOT use "internet gibberish" (LOL, THX, OMG etc.)
- DO NOT ask me about my personal life.
That information is CLASSIFIED!
- DO NOT ask for my permission to use my ASCII Art.
You will NEVER get it!
- DO NOT e-mail me asking about stuff already
included in the guide.
<>=========================================================<>
Any e-mail failing to comply with any of the above will be deleted without
second thought. If you don't even take some of your time to read through
this, then why should I take some of MY time to read YOUR e-mail?
If I find that my inbox is crammed with junk, I'll just delete EVERYTHING
at once! I use another e-mail for more important things, so I won't have
any problems with that!
If you send me an e-mail that complies with my rules, you'll probably get
a reply within three or four days. The exact time it takes depends on the
circumstances, such if I have received many e-mails that need answering
at once. I check my mail about four times every week. More often if I expect
an e-mail from someone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I must also remind you that I will send the latest version only,
and I repeat: ONLY to gamefaqs! This is not merely because I'm a lazy,
obstinate good-for-nothing moron, but rather because I'm a lazy,
obstinate good-for-nothing moron who doesn't have an excess amount of
spare time. Nothing can make me change my mind about this!
I *may* happen to update this guide on other sites unless there are
too many of them, but DON'T count on it.
But if you DO happen to host this guide (with my permission of course),
you may pick up a newer version from another site unless the rules of the
site in question say different.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it for my rules. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.

First of all, some information about me and my work:
I should let you know that English isn't my native language. Because of that,
you may find some grammatical errors in this guide. I correct them whenever
I find them though.
Another thing about my work is that I use a pre-made template for all my
guides. When I add something good to the template or a finished guide,
I usually copy it from one file and paste it in another. That means that
it isn't impossible that you may happen to find some information in this
guide that isn't suppose to be here. If such accidents occur, shoot me
an e-mail and I will see to it and update it within short.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This introduction is fairly short, but should still give you a clue about
what this guide is all about.
This guide contains detailed information in how to defeat that particular
boss, or how to obtain that well-hidden item in that oh-so-hard dungeon.
This guide focuses on the "Oracle of Age" (OoA) version of the oracle series.
If you're seraching for a particular section within the guide, just look it
up in the Table of contents and copy it. Then press (Ctrl+F on windows) to
bring up the search option. Now paste the sections name in it and you'll
find it in no time. Piece o' cake!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, here's some information about the item guides: I'm NOT using
coordinates to tell you where to find items. This is mainly because
there are so many different ways to make up these and believe me, they tend
to cause A LOT of confusion. If I have to tell you where to find an item,
I'll use the map name and where in that paricular area such as
"the north-west corner of Nuun Highlands".
You might find some puns (if you're clever enough to see them that is)
included in this guide if you search hard enough. They are just here for
the fun in it and do NOT have anything to do with the serious information
that make up the major parts of this guide.
Some of the puns might be removed in later versions as I now try to be
a bit more professional.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I like to keep things short, and you probably like me doing it too.
Whith that said, I'm done. So let's get this show on the road!

This section starts out with an explanation:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: The name of the boss. I have made up some names á la "Ocarina of Time"
style for the bosses. The names in CAPS are the real names as intended by
the producers of the game (or at least the name most commonly used).
Occupation: This shows you what kind of bad guy you're dealing with.
They are usually either bosses or mini-bosses.
Habitat: This shows you in which dungeon you find the boss. I don't use
the level number in my guide, only the real name of the dungeon.
HP: HP stands for "Hit-Points". This shows you how much damage the boss
can take before dying. The default damage made by the Wooden Sword is 2
(with the punch of the Fist Ring having the default damage of 1).
Check out the Field Items section for additional information about the
damage output of your weapons. Remember that the HP of the bosses that
must be defeated by other means than your actual weapons can't be
measured exactly. But don't you worry. I'll let you know how many
hits the boss can take anyway.
Attacks: What the boss can do in order to harm you. The names are invented
by me and don't appear in the game itself.
Strategy: What kind of strategy the boss uses. This include how the enemy
attacks, and when it does.
How to defeat it: This gives you detailed information about how to defeat
the boss.
Items needed: This lists the items you need in order to defeat the boss.
Some bosses can be defeated by other means than the sword. But since the
sword is the default weapon, I'll say that you need it if it can hurt the
boss at all. When I say sword, I mean ANY sword available at the moment.
Comments: I sometimes add comments when I feel it's necessary.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's a quicklist of the bosses:
---Spirit's Grave---
GIANT GHINI...................It's ghost-bustin' time!
PUMPKIN HEAD..................He's grave-serious!

Name: Unquestioned Spectre Monarch, GIANT GHINI
Occupation: Minor boss
Habitat: Spirit's Grave
HP: 12
Attacks: Dashing tackle, Summon Mini Ghinis
Strategy: This ludicrously big Ghini floats around the room and sends
three of his little buddies to keep Link busy while he (the boss) moves
about. If the little ghosts manage to get a hold on Link or if there are
none of them around, GIANT GHINI will perform his only attack (changing
expression as he does) that causes minor damage.
How to defeat it: It's simple! Just slash away with the Wooden Sword as
he comes within reach. Just remember that the Mini Ghinis prevent you
from doing this if they touch you.
Items needed: Sword
Name: Mini Ghinis
Occupation: Generally annoying pests
Habitat: Spirit's Grave
HP: 2
Attacks: Slow-down/Sword-lock
Strategy: Mini Ghinis are more annoying than dangerous. If they touch Link,
they will impair his movement and prevent him from using his sword.
Most other items, like the shield, still work though.
How to defeat it: Use an Ember Seed if you have loads of 'em or simply
slash them once with the Sword.

Name: Solemn Spirit, PUMPKIN HEAD
Occupation: Guardian of the Eternal Spirit
Habitat: Spirit's Grave
Cloth HP: 8
Boss HP: 8
Attacks: Triple rings, Ground stomp
Strategy: PUMPKIN HEAD simply walks around aimlessly in the room and
sometimes fire a set of three rings if he faces Link. At set times,
whether he faces Link or not, he will jump around the room two or
three times and try to squash him with his weight
How to defeat it: Slash his blue cloth about four times with your
Wooden Sword. This will cause the clothes to fall off and the pumpkin
will fall to the ground. This is your cue to pick it up with your newest
toy, the Power Bracelet. Deprived of his main shield, the true boss emerges
(depicted to the right). This guy may be big with his pumpkin and clothes,
but he's actually smaller than Link. He will float away from him as long as
he's holding the pumpkin. But once he drops it, the little guy will bolt for
it and return to his larger form. In order to defeat him, Link must throw
away the pumpkin and slash the ghost as it tries to return to it.
That strategy requires four hits with the Wooden Sword to finish him off.
Evil spirit begone!
An alternative strategy is to throw the pumpkin directly at him.
This strategy requires only three hits in order to finish PUMPKIN HEAD off.
But the best things is that the pumpkin can hit the ghost two, or even three,
times in a row as it bounces around. Choose whichever strategy suits you.
Items needed: Power Bracelet

"One with no wings is no match for me!"
Name: Fluttering Menace, SWOOP.
Occupation: Minor boss
Habitat: Wing Dungeon
HP: 20
Attacks: Ground breaker
Strategy: SWOOP can fly with the greatest of ease with the help of her
wings. (it looks like they're her ears but they're really wings that are
located on her back). She uses this ability to always stay out of harm's
way as Link can't reach her in any way as she's in the air.
She occasionally falls to the ground, breaking the floor with her weight
as she does.
How to defeat it: In order to defeat her, Link must attack when he can
reach her. That means, just after she's landed. She'll take to the air
immediately after being attacked. The more damage she takes, the more she
bounces on the ground. However, she can't break any of the blue tiles in
the room (those that run beside the walls, that's them). If Link is hit
directly from above or if he walks into the pits, he'll fall to the floor
below and will have to restart the battle. So try to avoid letting her
crush Link with her butt, ok? 'Cuz it hurts alot!
Items needed: Sword
Comments: I don't know if SWOOP is a "she" or not, but that's my assumption,
wrong or not!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ASCII Art unavaible!]
Name: Wildly Spinning Dizzy-head, HEAD THWOMP
Occupation: Guardian of the Ancient Wood
Habitat: Wing Dungeon
HP: 16? (four bombs defeat him)
Attacks: Fireballs (Green face), Fireball wheel (Blue face),
Earthquake/Rock drop (Purple face)
Strategy: This wierd enemy just spins in place and occasionally throws
a few fireballs. He also occasionally drop bombs that Link can add to
his own. Other than that, his attacks depends on which head that faces
the screen when he stops spinning.
How to defeat it: Use the spinning blocks in the room to get above
HEAD THWOMP. Then drop a bomb into that flowerhat-thingy of a head.
He'll start spinning madly and soon stops completely. The face that was
facing the screen when the bomb fell into his head is the same face that
HEAD THWOMP will stop on. Your mission, should you choose to accept it,
is to make his RED face face the screen four times. Each time you
successfully stop him on red yields you a recovery heart. If you stop
it on another face... well, then you're in for some serious counterattacks.
To avoid the Fireballs, just move out of the way. To avoid the Fireball
wheel AND the Rock drop, stand on either one of the middle blocks next
to the ladders.
Oh, and by the way: It might be possible to throw bombs into his head
while on the stationary platforms above. But that strategy takes much more
precise timing, AND more careful aiming! But it allows you to stay out of
harms way most of the time
Items needed: Roc's Feather, Bombs
Comments: Like said, he occasionally drops additional bombs as he attacks.
That's good to know if you know that you can't finish him off with what you
have.

"As long as I'm underground, your attacks don't scare me!"
Name: Subterranean Tunneling Beast, SUBTERROR
Occupation: Minor boss
Habitat: Moonlit Grotto
HP: 20
Attacks: Drilling strike
Strategy: SUBTERROR's strategy is, for him, an excellent one. He stays
underground in order to completely foil your attacks. If it was that
simply, then you, too, would at least be ok. But, of course, it's never
that simple... SUBTERROR can bore straight through the ground and hit
you from below while you can't do a thing! Oh, the cowardice!
How to defeat it: Here's a dilemma for you: What would you do in order
to make an enemy who stays underground all the time vulnerable for
attacks? The answer is in fact very simple. You dig him up of course!
With a shovel, of course! Take out your shovel and do that.
Then introduce your sword to his gimlet-beaked face!
Items needed: Shovel, Sword
Comments: You can dig for hearts and rupees in this room too. When SUBTERROR
touches the holes, they'll be restored. This means that it's theoretically
possible to get an unlimited amount of rupees/hearts in this room.
Comments 2: Why is he wearing sunglasses? Is it because his eyes are
really sensitive? Or is he just being hip? Well... You be the judge.

"Hya hya hya! You cannot see who I am, for I am your shadow!"
Name: Menacing Shadow, SHADOW HAG
Occupation: Guardian of the Echoing Howl
Habitat: Moonlit Grotto
HP: 12
Attacks: Shadow split, Shadow assault, Summon Mothulas
Strategy: Look at her and she'll turn into a puddle of... Shadow?
In this state, she's invincible. She only takes on her "real" form when
you have your back turned towards her. This means that you can't harm her
by convenient means. She occasionally splits into a group of four shadows
that actively hunt you before regrouping.
How to defeat it: If you can't best her while facing her, you'll have to
find a way to hit her without turning around at all. When she prepares
for the Shadow assault (where she runs up on you from behind), fire the
Seed Shooter forwards and the seed will bounce back, hopefully hitting
her on the way. Any seed can kill SHADOW HAG. Six hits should be enough
to finish her off.
Items needed: Seed Shooter + Seeds
Name: Mothulas
Occupation: Generally annoying pests, Seed providers
Habitat: Moonlit Grotto
HP: 1
Attacks: Touch
Strategy. Mothulas simply move in random patterns. They sometimes
"accidentally" shield SHADOW HAG when you try to hit her with the
Seed Shooter.
How to defeat them: Slash it with your sword or use a seed of some kind...
Comments: Kill these guys if run out of seeds. They drop a lot of them
when they go down.

"My mighty sword and mighty shield shall crush you!"
Name: Mighty Armoured Warrior, ARMOS KNIGHT
Occupation: Minor boss
Habitat: Skull Dungeon
HP: 10
Attacks: Ramming tackle
Strategy: This guys's a bloody coward! He stays behind his "un-breakable"
shield all the time! And your puny little weapons won't even make a dent
in it... D'oh! Meanwhile, his sword flies around the room on it's own
and follow you around, stopping periodically for a while before coming
after you again. And you can't harm the sword either... Double D'oh!
How to defeat it: Take a good look at his shield. See that sword emblem?
It's a hint! Do you think it's painted on his shield just for decorative
purposes? Well, maybe it is... But that's beside the point. The point is
that YOU must lure the self-guided sword into hitting the mighty shield.
After hitting it three times, both of them break, revealing the now more
vulnerable ARMOS KNIGHT. But remember that while you're fighting, he may
suddenly get the urge to change direction, causing the sword to miss him
and thereby spoiling all your hard work! Triple D'oh!
Without his shield, he'll shout "NO! My mighty sword is broken...
You'll pay for this!!!" and try to collide with you as he runs around
the room. In this state, it takes only five hits with the Wooden Sword
to put him on ice.
Items needed: Sword
Comments: Does his armour provide him with any protection at all? It sure
doesn't seem like it, since a WOODEN sword can kill him in just five hits
when he's deprived of his shield! One can wonder why he wears that bulky
thing at all... Well, it's probably becuase he's a really scrawny little
guy underneath all that scrap metal covering his body!
Name: Sword
Occupation: Self-guided Weapon
Habitat: Skull Dungeon
HP: N/A
Attacks: Wild spin
Strategy: The sword will follow you around and occasionally stop to "rest".
After about two seconds, it returns to work with renewed vigour.
How to defeat it: Let it hit the mighty shield three times.
That's all there is to it!

Name: Ruthless Patra King, EYESOAR
Occupation: Guardian of the Burning Flame
Habitat: Skull Dungeon
HP: 20
Attacks: Summon Patras
Strategy: This boss puts his focus on his own defense rather than
offense. He will spawn smaller Patras in order to use them as shields.
Hey! Ever heard of the "Labrynnian Agency for Safety and Health at Work"
EYESOAR?!
How to defeat it: As with most of the bosses in "The legend of Zelda",
the key to defeating this particular boss is the dungeon item.
So bring out your newest toy and fire away! When you finally score a
hit and trade place with him, EYESOAR will become disoriented and spin
around in place. You know what to do next, right?
Items needed: Switch Hook, Sword
Name: Patras
Occupation: Generally annoying pests, EYESOAR's shields
Habitat: Skull Dungeon
HP: 4
Attacks: N/A
Strategy: These little baddies shield EYESOAR from your attacks by
encircling him. When they separated from him, they'll fly in random
patterns around the room.
How to defeat them: Slash them with your sword and they'll go down quickly.
However, the ones you defeat are replaced in less than a second...

Name: Dominion-seeking Moblin King, GREAT MOBLIN
Occupation: Self-absorbed Bomb Flower-collector
Habitat: Moblin's Keep
HP: 48? (six large bombs defeat him, and those do double the damage of
normal bombs)
Attacks: Bomb throw
Strategy: He'll simply stand on the upper platform, tossing his big-mama
bombs at you while you scurry about like a dizzy little cucco. If you throw
the bomb back up there, he'll go for it and try to throw it down again.
How to defeat it: Avoid the two bomb-throwing minions in the room.
You can't defeat them anyway. Once a large bomb gets thrown down by
GREAT MOBLIN, pick it up and wait just until it explodes before sending
it sailing trough the air and blowing up in his big, ugly green face.

Name: Deranged fetch-dog, SMASHER
Occupation: Minor boss
Habitat: Crown Dungeon
HP: ? (five hits from the iron ball takes him out)
Attacks: Power throw
Strategy: That's SMASHER to the left. Whenever an iron ball drops down from
the ceiling, he'll scurry over to it, pick it up and throw it at you.
Hey! chill out, will ya SMASHER?
How to defeat it: Let that dog/jellyfish-thingy, or whatever the heck he is,
taste a douse of his own, bitter medicine! That is, pick up the ball yourself
and throw it at HIM. Take that! And that!! And this too!! I hope he has
learnt not to throw iron balls at innocent passersby!
Items needed: Power Bracelet
Comments: The ball will disappear after a while, only to reappear elsewhere
in the room after a few seconds. It can even disappear while either of you
are holding it, so beware!

"It's time for our little game. I break apart. If you can force me back
together and blow me away, it ends. But before you do I shall take a
bit of your soul!!! Now begin!"
Name: Monstrous Toxic Cloud, SMOG
Occupation: Guardian of the Sacred Soil
Habitat: Crown Dungeon
HP: 32 (8 for each phase)
Attacks: Lightning bolt, Energy bolt, Electric shock
Strategy: He starts out by splitting into invulnerable pieces
that spit Energy bolts at you (the bolts stop if they hit a
solid object). It's your job to unite the little guys again!
When back together, he can release larger bolts and even fry
you with electricity should you get too close and touch him
(the sword will not conduct the electricity however).
How to defeat it: Whew! He talks a lot, eh? Ok, let's get serious
'cuz this isn't going to be as easy as anticipated! Normally,
you would be forced to use your brains to defeat this boss,
not your brawns. But you can just follow the ASCII maps right
below! Good for you! If the pieces won't reunite, hold them up
by slashing your sword at them. If you separate a piece from the
blocks, it returns to its original location. A larger piece is
slower but can actually move across the floor if separated from
the blocks. There's always a reset-button in the top-left corner
should you do something wrong, but it takes a heart each time
you use it, so clumsy players beware!

Items needed: Cane of Somaria, Sword
Comments: DON'T send me any e-mails complaining about my ASCII Art making
no sense!! Read the instructions CAREFULLY (like I've already told you!)
and inspect the battlefield on your gameboy/emulator. Then inspect my

help you, then... Well, then there's not much I can do for you.

Name: Loyal Henchman, VIRE
Occupation: Minor boss, loyal henchman
Habitat: Mermaid's Cave
HP: 20 (+2 per body piece)
Attacks: Energy sphere, Homing energy sphere, Diving strike
Strategy: This guy knows how a strike from a sword smarts. Therefore,
he'll stay as far away from you as possible while firing energy spheres
at you. He can fly off-screen and appear elsewhere, trying to
surprise you by his sudden assaults. But since YOU are having the
privilegium of being equipped with a birds-eye view, there's nothing
to really worry about, right?
How to defeat it: Let's bash this ugly guy good, ok? Since he wont get
near you, you're going to have to get near HIM. Equip the Roc's Feather
and your sword and charge a spin-attack. Now jump at him and pray that
you hit him before he disappears. Or you can just wait until he dives
at you and slash him as he passes by. When he breaks in two, jump and
hit the two "pieces" in mid-air.
Items needed: Sword
Comments: This guy is an interesting mini-boss. He appears in the sixth
dungeon in BOTH games. When you defeat him, he'll make his escape and
"report to Veran/Onox". But if you play a linked game, VIRE will appear
every now and then and cause general trouble. And when you reach the sixth
dungeon in the linked game, he'll be ready for a re-match. Once you defeat
him in the re-match, he'll be defeated for good, exploding like any other
mini-boss whose career also came to a dead-end. That's almost movie-style
huh? Appearing for a re-match and then finnaly being defeated.

Name: Mighty Octorok King, OCTOGON
Occupation: Guardian of the Bereft Peak
Habitat: Mermaid's Cave
HP: 40
Attacks: Rock spit (only while surfaced); Fireball rain (only when
submerged); Bubble trap (only underwater)
Strategy: This king of octoroks swims around in the deep waters surrounding
the middle platform. He will face away from the platform while swimming,
keeping his weak spot out of harms way. After a while, or after taking a
number of hits, he will submerge his head under the surface. If anyone
decides to dive in the water at that moment, so, too, will he dive to
the bottom.
How to defeat it: When swimming around above the surface, he'll turn and
face the platform while preparing to use his Rock shot attack. Take the
opportunity to slash him while he does this. When he submerges himself,
he'll be "invincible" so dive down to the bottom of the water-filled room.
He will follow you down there and try to attack you with dangerous bubbles.
During this time, he won't defend himself like he does above the surface,
so simply slash away with your sword! Of course, he HAS got more advantages
underwater than you, such as greater swimming speed.

Name: Villain's Puppet, POSSESSED NAYRU
Occupation: Main villain's puppet
Habitat: Ambi's Palace
HP: 16
Attacks: Multi-shot sphere
Strategy: She'll try to fool you while teleporting around the room.
She always stops near a statue in order to gain some cheap protection
from your weapons. But if you DO hit her with a weapon, YOU will take
serious injury, just like that.
How to defeat it: Did you pay any attention during the earlier parts of
the game? I didn't think so either... Fine, whatever. Right after you
brought Mystery Seeds to Queen Ambi, the possessed Nayru appeared and
revealed the fact that Mystery Seeds are one of the few things that can
obstruct her plans. Ringin' any bells? Of course! Mystery Seeds are her
weakness! Shoot or throw one at her and you'll force Veran out.
Ok, now what? She's still in Nayru's body, preventing you from reaching her.
Well bub, Just take out your Switch Hook and hit Veran with it.
She'll be forced out of Nayru's body, providing you with a perfect
opportunity to give her a bit of what's coming to her!
Items needed: Seed Shooter/Seed Satchel + Mystery Seeds, Switch Hook, Sword
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ASCII Art unavaible!]
Name: Giant Inflated Pufferfish, BLOATFISH
Occupation: Minor boss
Habitat: Jabu Jabu's Belly
HP: 30
Attacks: Bubble shot
Strategy: This fishy fish-creature bounces around in his dark, dank
habitat and tries to attack you either by landing on you or hitting you
with a bubble fired from his mouth.
How to defeat it: Take out your Seed Shooter and try to hit the mini-boss
with a Scent Seed. A direct hit will deflate the creature, leaving him
immobilized and open to attacks. His weak point is the glowing orb on his
esca. You can hit him without deflating him, but that strategy is harder.
Once you defeat him, the warp portal that usually appears will appear in
the room BEFORE the one you fought BLOATFISH in.
Items needed: Roc's Feather, Sword, Seed Shooter + Ammo
Comments: You can pop his bubbles with your sword. They sometimes drop
seeds behind.

Attacks: Electro-shock, Energy ball
Strategy: This jellyfish-guy will follow you around and try to shock you
with his bio-electricity attack. He might also shoot balls of energy
matching his current colour at you.
How to defeat it: He's weak to his own energy balls when he's of a different
colour. The thing is that he changes colour everytime you hit him with
something such as the Long Hook. Do you know what to do then? That's right!
Switch place with him and make sure he gets hit by his own attack.
So simple really! Oh, but just make sure not to hit him with the Long Hook
while he's electrified. That would result in a TRULY shocking experience!

not all! Get too close and you'll taste his scythe, yikes! If you're away
from him, he'll prepare one out of his two magic attacks. You will never
know which one he's charging up until he has already released it, forcing
you to use split-second reflexes in order to avoid falling victim to the
spell. The Time-turner energy appears as a large, smooth ball and can
transfrom Link into an infant version of himself for a short while,
leaving him considerably slower and completely harmless. The other attack
involves a whirling ball of energy that breaks apart if struck by a sword,
which is quite hard to avoid.
How to defeat it: You have to turn his magic against him. The scythe
won't work and the Splitting energy doesn't either. Seems to me like we
have eliminated the methods that won't work on him. And what's left?
The Time-turner energy of course! Swing it back at him with a good ol'
spin-attack and make sure he gets hit. Now we'll see what this guy looked
like as an infant. However dishonourable it might be, this is the time to
give him a bit of what's coming to him.

Name: Ancient Guardian Machine, RAMROCK
Occupation: Guardian of the Falling Star
Habitat: Ancient Tomb
HP: Stone-arm phase: ? (Three hits from his own hands will take him out)
HP: Crusher-arm phase: 12? (Three bombs will do the trick)
HP: Shield-arm phase: 8
HP: Ball-arm phase: ? (And again, three hits will get the job done)
Attacks: Flying punch (Stone-arm phase); Hug of death (Crusher-arm phase);
Protect, Energy ball, Energy beam (Shield-arm phase);
Ball-launcher (Ball-arm phase).
Strategy: It all depends on his interchangeable equipment. He will hover
back and forth during the Stone-arm phase and the Ball-arm phase and
launch his respective weapons at you. During the Crusher-arm phase,
he'll follow you around and try to give you a very, VERY painful hug.
And last of all, during the Shield-arm phase, he'll go back and forth,
shielding himself from frontal assaults and counter with his own
energy attacks.
How to defeat it: It's time to beat up this evil little terminator-thingy,
or whatever the heck he is, so let's get started.
- Stone-arm phase: Stand near him and use your sword as a bat to send
his fists flying back into his own face. If he's going to the left,
hit his left fist (left from your point of view!) and vice versa.
This shouldn't take too long...
- Crusher-arm phase: Drop a bomb between his arms when he stops moving
and get out of the way... QUICKLY! Bombs are spawned every now and
then when you cut down one of the re-growing plants in the corners
of the room.
- Shield-arm phase: Shoot Scent Seeds (Scent Seeds are the best, but you
don't HAVE to use them!) so that they bounce and hit him from behind.
Scent Seeds might be spawned when you cut down the other plant in
this room (the one that didn't spawn bombs that is).
- Ball-arm phase: Grab the ball he didn't launch at you and pull it all
the way out. Then quickly let go of it and watch it fly back at him,
causing some SERIOUS damage! On rare occasions, he might send BOTH balls
flying, forcing you to simply dodge without being able to deal out any
counterattacks.
Items needed: Sword, Bombs, Seed Shooter + Seeds, Power Gloves

"You come despite my warning? Do you not value life? Or are you a mere fool?
Regardless, it won't be easy! I'll teach you your place! I'll not be as
kind as before!"
Name: Spiteful Puppet, POSSESSED QUEEN AMBI
Occupation: Main villain's puppet
Habitat: Black Tower
HP: 20
Attacks: Multi-shot sphere, Summon Dark Spiders
Strategy: She'll use the same strategy as before, only upping the
ante a bit. Or like she says: "I'm not going to be as kind as before!".
She can now summon some kind of spider-thingies to harass you.
How to defeat it: Refer to the battle against POSSESSED NAYRU.
It's all the same. Only a little harder... Or not really.
Items needed: Seed Shooter + Mystery Seeds, Long Hook, Sword
Name: Dark Spiders
Occupation: Incredibly annoying pests
Habitat: Black Tower
HP: 4
Attacks: Spider rush
Strategy: They'll rush at you on sight... Sometimes. They only move
diagonally.
How to defeat it: Just slash it and there'll be one less annoying enemy
in the world! If they get in your way (they usually do), drop a Scent Seed
and they'll be busy... For a few seconds.

Name: Vile Villain, VERAN

Habitat: Black Tower

Attacks: Single-shot sphere, Multi-shot sphere (Ugh, gimme a break!

Strategy: She'll just fly around the room, going off-screen and then
re-appearing elsewhere in order to confuse you a little. But you won't
get confused, I know you! She'll occasionally attack you as she flies by.
How to defeat it: Poke your sword at her as she passes by. She has no
defense so it's no going to be that hard defeating her. Dispose of the
Dark Heroes first if they get in your way.

Occupation: Sorceress of Shadows
Habitat: Black Tower
HP: 70
Attacks: Quake (Beetle phase); Web slam, Summon Dark Spiders
(Spider phase); Stinger barrage, Summon Dark Bees (Bee phase)
Strategy: She starts out using the Beetle phase. After taking a few hits,
she'll switch to another.
- Beetle phase: She'll try to crush you with her weight.
- Spider phase: She'll try to grab you with some sticky web and slam
you into the ground. Other than that, she'll move in diagonal
patterns around the room and dash if she can get a clear shot.
- Bee phase: She'll fly around in certain patterns and try to sting
you with long-ranged stingers. She might also summon Dark Bees to

How to defeat it: Her weaknesses depend on her current form.
- Beetle phase: Do your thing when her head pops out of the shell.

They say that it isn't the equiment that makes the hero. Well...
In the gaming world it IS the items that make the hero! Link can't do
a thing without his trusty items except walking, jumping down ledges,
falling into pits and getting injured and/or killed by monsters.
This is where the items enter the picture. They're here to make
a difference! This section is dedicated to Link's trusty items.
Link can find items pretty much everywhere in the vast worlds. But most of
them follow the old Zelda-tradition and can be found in dungeons. They all
help out in some way. Some of them even get upgrades!
I think that covers it. Let's get going right away!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Explanation time!
Name: Shows you the name and the in-game description of the item.
Power: Shows how much damage the weapon can dish out, if it can deal any
damage at all that is. Beware! The damage sometimes even applies to Link
himself. If so, then I count every quarter of a heart as 1 HP. This means
that one heart equals 4 HP.
Remember: The only way to measure the strenght of an item is to take
the weakest possible weapon (in this case, a punch from the Fist Ring) and
then compare everything else to it on many different enemies. If you think
that I may have gotten the wrong Power for a particular weapon, please feel
free to notify me.
Effect: What kind of effect the item can cause, if it has an effect at all
other than causing damage that is.
Description: A description.
Where to get it in OoA/OoS: This shows you where you can get the item if
it appears at all in that game. N/A (Non Available) means that it doesn't
appear in that particular game. This guide focuses on OoA, but I'll still
list where to find them in OoS. I just feel generous!
Comments: I sometimes add comments for informational purposes, or just
for fun.
>-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=<
Field Items
>-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=<
Before we start, I would like to share this oddity with you. The Field Item
screen is designed to hold at most 16 items. In OoA, the player can find a
maximum of 15 items counting the Bombchus and the Biggoron Sword,
while the player can only get 14 in OoS. I just find that strange.
As of now, only the normal Slingshot is missing.
Ok, let's get back to business with what we have.

Name: Wooden Sword, a hero's blade.
Power: 2
Effect: N/A
Description: This item is used for killing monsters, activating switches,
cutting down bushes and... Pretty much everything under the sun.
This sword will serve you well throughout the games and you will probably
have it equipped all the time. It can be used under water as long as you
have it equipped to the B-button (the A-button is used for swimming).
Where to get it in OoA: Get it from Impa after witnessing Nayru's
kidnapping.
Where to get it in OoS: Find it in the Hero's Cave.

Name: Noble Sword, a sacred blade
Power: 3 (energy beam, 2)
Effect: N/A
Description: This baby is 1.5 times stronger than the Wooden Sword.
It can also break signs and pots without hassle. When Link is at full
health, the tip of the blade can fire away long-ranged energy beams.
Where to get it in OoA: Finish the trading-event and bring the broken
Noble Sword to Patch, the restoration guru.
Where to get it in OoS: [Information unavailable! Read below please!]
Comments: No, there's nothing wrong with the fact that the information on
how to find the blade in OoS is missing. This guide is meant to make it
easier for you to master the game, not allowing you to skip the
trading-event entirely! Sorry for the inconvenience.

Name: Wooden Shield, a small shield.
Power: N/A
Effect: Block (on Link), Shove (on enemies)
Description: This small shield protects Link from enemies both directly
and from projectiles like spear and small rocks. It can also shove
enemies out of the way. Personally, I'd rather equip the Roc's Feather
instead of the shield though. Beware! If a Like Like swallows you,
it'll steal your shield, D'oh!
Where to get it in OoA: Buy it from stores or Deku Scrubs. The standard
price is 30 rupees, but Deku Scrubs sell it for 50, 30 or sometimes even
10 rupees.

Name: Iron Shield, a large shield
Power: N/A
Effect: Block (on Link), Shove (on enemies)
Description: This shield is larger than the wooden one and protects the
user even from energy balls such as the ones the River Zoras spit out.
However, this shield isn't theft-proof, so Like Likes can still
swallow it...
Where to get it in OoA: Find the Tokay in the southern sea cavern on
Crescent Island in the Past. Use the Mermaid Suit to dive under the rock
blocking your way on the surface. It's actually the same shield you lost
on the island, but never found again. After all the time the tokay spent
polishing it, it turned into an Iron Shield. Well, it should be like that,
but you can get to the point where your items get stolen without ever buying
a shield first. But let's not go deeper into that, ok?
Where to get it in OoS: Give the Hard Ore to the blacksmith in the Subrosian
Smithy and tell them to "Do Whatever".
Comments: The Iron Shield can be bought in stores and from Deku Scrubs as
soon as you find one all by yourself first (I find that weird actually).
The going price will then be 50 rupees.

Name: Boomerang, always comes back to you.

Effect: Stun (mostly)
Description: Go ahead, throw it. You won't need a dog to fetch it back
'cuz this li'l puppy returns all by it's good ol' self. The Boomerang is
used mostly to stun enemies or to hit that out-of-reach switch over there.
It can also destroy those otherwise "in-destrucible" sparks that move
along the walls in dungeons. Doing so will make them drop a fairy behind.
Perfect when you're low on health.

Name: BOmbs, very explosive.
Power: 4 (on Link, 2)
Effect: Explosion (Well, duh!)
Description: Take 'em out, drop 'em on the ground and watch 'em explode!
Try it out. It's a blast! Bombs come in handy when you need to destroy
weaker walls or stronger enemies. They can be picked up again even after
being thrown but if you're not careful, they'll blow up in Link's...
I don't have to say more now do I? Anyways, at first, Link can carry only
10 bombs. Later on, he can upgrade this capacity to 30 and even 50 with
the help of a linked secret.
Where to get it in OoA: Pay Mystery Seeds in tribute to Queen Ambi and
you'll recieve bombs in return. It's not like you have a choice really.
Oh, and they (bombs) can later on be bought in stores in packs of ten
for the price of 20 rupees.
Where to get it in OoS: Buy them from the Horon Shop as soon as you can
afford them. They're always available after you've aquired the Wooden Sword.

Effect: Seed-bounce
Description: This item is far cooler than your everyday Slingshot!
It can be aimed in all eight directions and fired by the click of a button.
The seeds that are fired out of this gadget will ricochet of walls in a
realistic way. If you fire it diagonally, the seeds can bounce off corners
and reach otherwise in-accesible switches, torches or enemies. If you fire
it up, down, left or right, the seeds will bounce back and hit enemies
behind Link without forcing him to turn around. The third time the seeds
hit a wall, they break. The seeds are picked out for the Seed Shooter in
the same way as with the Seed Satchel.
Where to get it in OoA: Find it in the Moonlit Grotto.

Name: Harp of Ages, a harp used to navigate time.
Power: N/A (although it can actually kill Pols Voices when used)
Effect: Time travel (each tune works in a different way)
Description: This harp helps Link navigate the currents of time. There is a
total of three songs to learn.
In the order they are picted, the Tune of Echoes allows Link to awaken
time portals that appear as tiles with vortexes depicted on them. The Tune
of Currents allows Link to travel at will from Past to Present, but not the
other way around! And lastly, The Tune of Ages unlocks the true power of
the harp of Ages as it allows Link to travel freely between Past and Present
AND the other way around.
Where to get it in OoA: Find the Harp of Ages and the Tune of Echoes in
Nayru's House. Find the Tune of Currents in Tokkey's house (not marked on
the map!), hidden in Talus Lake. And last, get the Tune of Ages from Nayru
after rescuing her.
Where to get it in OoS: N/A
Comments: If Link tries to travel to another time and ends up on an occupied
tile, he'll be sent back to where he came from. There's also a few areas
where Link is not allowed to travel through time at all, such as in
Yoll Graveyard and the Black Tower.
By the way: Pols Voices are those jumping things that look like rabbit-hats.

Description: This item is a new desing of the traditional Hookshoot,
but works in basically the same way. When used, it makes the user and
the target switch place. This item is required to solve some puzzles
and move diamond-shaped blocks. With the help of a target, yes, such as

too wide to be traversed.

Name: Long Hook, switches places from a distance
Power: N/A (although it can hurt some enemies)
Effect: Trades place with target from a distance
Description: This item is basically a Switch Hook with a 1.5 times
longer chain. It's also slightly faster because of this. It's used only
to reach targets that are too far away to be reached with the Switch Hook.
Where to get it in OoA: Find it in Jabu Jabu's Belly

Comments: Why they would make such a boring upgrade, I may never know.
But it's probably just to prevent Link from gaining too many new items.
And that reminds me that from level 6 and forward in both games,
Link only get upgrades for items he already have.

Name: Cane of Somaria, used to create blocks.
Power: N/A ( but it will have the power of 4 if the block is thrown)
Effect: Spawn block
Description: The Cane of Somaria is a mighty rod that can create blocks out
of pure energy. This item is mainly used for weighing down switches when
nothing else is available. Other uses include; creating an additional
stairstep in order to scale high platforms, block an enemy's path,
act as a barrier for statues (sometimes, there are two or more statues
that all move in the same direction if Link tries to push just one).
An additional effect that not many people know about is that the
Cane of Somaria can cover up the last blue tile in the puzzles were Link
has to make all blue tiles red by walking over them in the correct order.
It's necessary to do this to complete one of these puzzles in the special
Hero's Cave in OoA.
Where to get it in OoA: Find it in the Crown Dungeon.
Where to get it in OoS: N/A
Comments: It's real name is supposed to be "Cane of Somalia", but it's
called "Cane of Somaria" due to ambiguous transliteration. This is a
re-occuring fault in many Zelda-games, replacing "l" with "r", such as
in the name "Zola" which becomes "Zora" or "Golon" which becomes "Goron".

Name: Rod of Seasons, best used from atop a stump.
Power: N/A (but it can kill Ghinis in one hit!)
Effect: Shove
Description: This rod is used to change the season. It doesn't work best
from atop a stump like the game says, it ONLY works atop a stump.
The Rod of Seasons can also shove most enemies out of the way, which is
necessary when fighting Onox and he summons the trapped Din to use her as
a shield. It can also kill the one-eyed ghosts (Ghinis) in one hit.
The symbols are in the order: Down-left corner = Spring, upper-left
corner = Summer, upper-right = Autumn/Fall and down-right = Winter.
The seasons obviously change in that order and only skips those that
it can't call forth yet.
Where to get it in OoA: N/A
Where to get it in OoS: Find the Rod of Seasons in the Temple of seasons.
Find the power of winter in the Tower of Winter, which is accesible from
the beginning. The Tower of Summer is locked and can only be opened by
Rosa's "mystical necklace". The Tower of Spring must be accessed from a
cave elsewhere and the Tower of Autumn must be blasted open with the help
of a Bomb Flower from the Lava Lake.

Name: Magnetic Gloves, magnetically attractive!
Power: N/A
Effect: Magnetic polarity
Description: It's magnetic! Yeah, it's a magnetic glove!!
This nifty handwear can change its polarity to attract the opposing or
repell the equal. If the affected object is stuck in the ground or some
other object, Link can repell or attract himself. If it isn't, the object
will be affected instead. These gloves can even effect certain enemies.
Armour-clad soldiers, for example, will be at your mercy when you introduce
them to your magnetic glove! The glove changes color depending on polarity,
blue for South and red for North.
Where to get it in OoA: N/A
Where to get it in OoS: Find it in the Unicorn's Cave.
Comments: The game calls this item "Magnetic Gloves" but there's actually
just one. This can be seen when it's used as Link only stretches out
one hand, obviously the hand that wears the glove.
