*NOTE: I am extremely sorry for the long wait.  I lost my Internet 
Service and I just got it back.  If anyone sent e-mail to me please 
resend it.  I don't have time for an update right now because I have 
some matters to take care of.  I will try to get an update in as soon 
as my Nephew gives back my Game Boy Color, which will probably be a few 
days.




     This is my first FAQ I have ever written so feel free to e-mail me 
at bboylen@prodigy.net and give me suggestions about this FAQ.  This 
FAQ will cover Conker's Pocket Tales for Game Boy/Game Boy Color.

1.	Story


As told in Game's Instruction Manual... -

     "Surprise!" cheered Berri and friends as Conker stared 
speechlessly at the mountain of presents before him. "Happy Birthday, 
Conker!"

     He thanked them heartily, jumping up and down as he eyed the stash 
of gifts.

     "Hold on", said Berri stepping between the squirrel and his 
birthday hoard.  "There's something else you have to do first..." She 
gave a whistle, and in came a trolley bearing the biggest birthday cake 
Conker had ever seen.

     "Wow, Berri!  This is great!", he exclaimed.

     But Berri was frowning.  "Hang on," she said suspiciously, "this 
isn't the one I made..."

     Suddenly the fake cake burst open with a crash.  A bulky figure 
sprang up from the wreckage, cackling as it landed amidst the presents 
and started gathering them up for itself.

     "Hey!" Berri squealed at the intruder.  "What do you think 
you're...YIKES!"

     Quick as a flash, their uninvited guest turned on Berri and 
grabbed her under one arm, even as it turned to flee with its haul of 
goodies.

     "Conker!", came Berri's suddenly-panicked voice.
	
     But by the time Conker had pushed through the stunned crowd and 
made it to the door, the Evil Acorn and his captive were nowhere to be 
seen...

2.	Conker's Moves


Walking - The Control Pad lets Conker walk around and explore the game 
world.

Running - To make Conker run on all fours, double tap a direction on 
the Control Pad and keep it help down.

Jumping - Pressing the A Button makes Conker jump.  Get a running start 
to increase Conker's jumping distance.

Pushing - Stand next to a crate, press the Control Pad towards it, and 
press the A Button to make Conker slide it across the room.  

Attacking - Pressing the B Button allows Conker to punch at first then 
to fire conkers (slingshot ammo) once he collect the slingshot.  Conker 
can also stomp enemies by pressing the A Button to jump, then pressing 
it again in the air.

Digging - Stand in a patch of dirt and press SELECT.  Conker will 
reappear in another patch nearby, usually on the other side of an 
obstacle.

Swimming - Conker can wade through shallow waters by just walking 
through it, but to swim and dive through deeper areas he will need to 
find a diving mask.  
NOTE: On Game Boy/Game Boy Pocket the A button is used to dive and the 
B Button to increase speed.  On Game Boy Color SELECT is used to dive 
while the A and B Buttons boost Conker's swimming speed.


3.	Main Walkthrough


     Your nemesis, the Evil Acorn has taken Berri and all of your 
presents.  You must retrieve them, or your birthday party will be 
ruined.

     You start out in Conker's home.  Go left one room and pick up the 
conker and acorn.  The exit is to the south of that room.  After 
leaving Conker's house, to the left you will find a patch of dirt.  
Press SELECT while standing on the dirt to dig.  You will appear on the 
other side of a fence.  Collect your first present.  Dig back to the 
other patch of dirt.  Feel free to collect the acorns and conkers in 
the fenced in area around Conker's house.  One you have done so, dig at 
the patch of dirt south of Conker's house.  Go south until you come to 
a path.  Next go right until you get to a sign.  Here, go south until 
the next fork in the path.  There, take the path to the east.  Do not 
take the next fork to the south, instead keep going the way you are.  
You will eventually get to some stairs.  Go north through the stairs 
and follow the path until you get to a house.  Enter the house.  Go one 
room to the right and talk to the Acorn in the top right corner of the 
room.  He will give you a key and a present, which you collect right 
below you.  Leave the house and take note of the location because you 
will be returning here quite often in the game.  Go back down the path 
and steps and talk to the Acorn walking back and forth.  He will tell 
you to go to the Windmill.  To get here from where you are go to the 
left and follow the path.  At the forks in the path go left, north, and 
stop when you get back to the sign that is east of Conker's home.  Now 
follow the path to the north and watch out for the enemies!  When you 
get to the next fork that is next to a sign, take the north route and 
up the steps.  Keep going and go up another set of steps.  You have 
reached the windmill.  Go inside and talk to the acorn.  Go up a room 
and collect a conker and an acorn.  Now go south, then east.  This is 
the first puzzle in the game and the easiest.  See below for how to 
solve it.  This may seem hard but here is a key to help you out:

G – a block that don't move
H – hole
1, 2, 3... – Moveable blocks

NOTE: the key above only be found here and I will not put it when I 
show you how to solve the other puzzles in the game

Push 1 to the left.  Then push it north to get it into the first hole.  
Now push 2 north.  Congratulations! You have solved the game's first 
puzzle.  Once completed, go north through the once locked door.  
Collect the present and go down the stairs.  Pick up the acorn and 
conker and go south again.  In this room is a conker and your weapon, 
the Slingshot.  To fire it hit the B Button, but be careful you will 
run out of conkers quickly.  Next return to the Forest Guardian (I told 
you that you would be returning here…).  He will let you play his game.  
You have to shoot 6 targets in 20 seconds.  Don't take too long to aim 
because if the target falls back down you have to hit an extra target 
in order to win.  He will give you access to Spooky Forest.  To get 
here walk out of his house and go the right a little then north.  There 
will be a present there.  Collect it and go north to enter Spooky 
Forest.  When you see a sign read it and go the way towards Forest 
Wong.  You will end up at a house with two doors.  Enter through either 
door.  When you enter go left one room and talk to the Acorn.  He will 
give you a key.  The key is in the bottom of that room.  Go back to the 
entrance room and go down the stairs.  Collect the present and return 
to the Forest Guardian's house.  Talk to him and he will tell you to go 
south-west to find Mushroom Town.  Leave his house and follow the path 
south.  Take the exit to the west.  At the first break in the road take 
the west exit, but at the second one take the south exit.  Follow the 
path, cross the bridge, and keep going.  At the second set of stairs, 
go left.  Follow the path to get to Mushroom Town.  When you enter the 
first house talk to the Acorn.  He will give you a present.  Get the 
present and head north one room.  Pick up the Acorn and go east, then 
south.  You are now at the second puzzle in the game.

Push 1 west, south, then east.  Next push 2 south then west, and 3 to 
the south.  This puzzle unlocks a door to the north.  Enter and go down 
stairs.  Go south until you get to a room with a wind-up mouse.  Jump 
and press jump again in the air to stomp on it.  Once you stomp it, go 
back north and enter the door again.  Now go left and enter the open 
door.  Go left a room and destroy the bat.  The exit is to the south.
Enter the next house.  In the second room you come to another puzzle.

Push 1 west, 2 west then north, 3 north, and 4 east.  Now enter the 
south door. Talk to the acorn and enter the next room to the left.  
Below is a how to solve floor switch puzzles.  Stomp on 1 one first, 2 
second…

Now go north.  Pick up the present and stomp the switch.  Now go back 
to the room where you talked to the Acorn and exit to the south.  In 
the next house go north and destroy the wind-up mouse.  Go through the 
north door.  Now go south to find the exit.  You probably want to enter 
this house through the second door to get to the puzzle the quickest.  
The puzzle is just north as you enter.

Go north through the newly opened door.  Now go south and enter the 
door.  Destroy the two mice and go right.  Exit to the south.  Enter 
the cave and follow the cave until you get to an Acorn.  Talk to him.  
Now go south, dig, an exit the cave.  Keep going and talk to the Evil 
Acorn.  Then enter the north cave.  The easiest way to beat this boss 
is to go to the very center and stand between two trees.  When the worm 
comes along, shoot him in the head and quickly get back between the 
trees.  Shoot him in the head 5 times to beat him.  Go south and you 
will find a present.  Pick it up and enter the portal above you. Talk 
to the Acorn.  Go left and get the Invite.  Now walk up to the log and 
push it the same way you push a block, by getting up next to it, 
walking towards it, and pressing the A Button. It should move.  Go 
north and cross the river.  On the other side of the river, go east and 
when you get to the path go to the east.  Go up the stairs and enter 
the barn.  Talk to the Acorn and go north.  Kill the mouse and go east.  
Pick up the conkers and go south to find a floor switch puzzle.

Now go downstairs through the newly opened door.  There is a box

Push 1 west, then north.  Push 2 north.  Next push 3 north, then west.  
Finally push 4 to the west.  Now go south, then east and pick up the 
key.  Now go back west and exit to the south.  When you come out of 
the barn go northwest to find a big house with two doors.  Enter 
through the right door and go north.  Keep going and you will 
eventually get to an Acorn and a switch.  Talk to the Acorn and hit 
the switch.  Now go back and exit this house.  Now re-enter the house, 
but this time through the left entrance.  Now go north.  Pick up the 
acorn in the top of the room and go right.  Collect the present.  
There is a floor switch puzzle here.

Now exit the house and go south.  Pick up the conkers and acorns.  Next 
go north and follow the path to the east.  The first time you see you 
can go south, do it.  A little ways down is another path, take it.  
Keep following it until you get to a Hotel.  Enter it and talk to the 
Acorn to the north of this room.  Now exit the Hotel.  Go east and you 
will see a place called Smithy's.  Directly northeast of here is the 
Undertaker.  Enter and go north.  You will end up back outside.  Go 
north again and go up the ladder.  Go north and enter through the 
broken fence.  Go north and follow the path to the right.  When you 
turn to go north keep going north and at the top near the shack is a 
key.  Enter between two graves south of the key to get it.  Now enter 
the shack.  Talk to the Acorn and pick up the present.  Then talk to 
the other Acorn that is now in the room.  He will put you in jail.  In 
the first room is a switch puzzle.

Once you complete it, exit the jail cell and go east.  The first time 
you can go to the north, enter it.  You find another floor puzzle.

Go south then east until you can go north again.  You find yet another 
floor puzzle.

After completing it go south and follow the rooms until you find the 
Sheriff.  Talk to him and he will give you a present and make you his 
deputy.  Exit and the bank is to the southeast, two buildings below 
Smithy's.  Talk to the Acorn walking back and forth.  Now go north and 
talk to this Acorn.  You get to play the game's first mini-game.  To 
shoot and Honker use the A Button and to duck press the B Button.  The 
health meter on the left is yours, and the one on the right is 
Honker's.  When you beat him get the present and talk to the Acorn.  
Now go back and have a talk with the Sheriff.  He will tell you to go 
to Vulture Culture.  To get here find the exit to the south that takes 
you out of Vultureville.  You will know it is the exit because it will 
be a sign saying Vultureville on two wooden poles.  Do not cross the 
bridge.  Instead go right.  When you get to a teepee enter it.  He will 
tell you that he will give you a mask in return for gold.  Exit and go 
back to the bridge.  This time go across it.  Now go to the left and 
you will find a place that says Pan for Gold.  Enter this place and 
talk to the Acorn in the second room.  He will tell you to go get a 
pan.  Go to Smithy's back in Vultureville and he will tell you to go to 
Dusty's.  To get here exit Smithy's and go southwest.  Enter Dusty's 
and kill the two bats.  Then talk to Dusty.  He will give you a 
Tankard.  Return back to Smithy's and talk to him.  He will make you a 
pan.  Pick up the present in the bottom of the room and take the pan to 
the Pan for Gold place.  Talk to the Acorn again.  He will tell you how 
to play.  Submerge the pan with A and B.  When a nugget gets in the pan 
shake the pan by quickly pressing left and right many times until the 
nugget is yours.  Keep doing this until you get enough gold.  Hurry 
because you have to beat the timer.  When you get the gold return to 
Vulture Culture.  The Evil Acorn stole the mask but they will remove 
the rock blocking the north path in exchange for the gold.  Exit and to 
the northeast is a ladder.  Go up it and get the present.  When you get 
up the ladder go west.  Then go north.  You will eventually come to 
another ladder.  Go up it and talk to the Evil Acorn.  Now you get to 
fight Sol and Luxo.  Wait until one of them stops and shoot it with the 
slingshot.  Now run around until one of them stops again.  Continue 
this process until both vultures are dead.  When you kill them pick up 
the present and mask.  Now go back.  When you first see a river, swim 
into it and press select on GameBoy Color or A on GameBoy/GameBoy 
Pocket to dive.  Pick up the Invite and go back to the surface.  Now go 
to the other side of the bridge.  You can see where to dive because the 
area you want to dive in looks a little bit darker of a blue than the 
other part of the water.  Dive here and pick up the present.  Now you 
need to re-enter the Barn.  To get here go to the first place where you 
enter Vultureville, north.  And go north.  Look around up here and you 
will find the Barn.

5.	Future Plans


I plan to eventually get this FAQ done!  Also I will have tips section, 
Codes/Tricks, and a section for recommended games to buy if you enjoyed 
this one.  These will probably be added AFTER I finish the walkthrough, 
but if you have a Code or Trick go ahead and send it in.
