1. INTRODUCTION
*****************************************************

Hi there, friends! Your Disney game fanatic Merit Celaire here ready to
share with you gameplay strategies from one of the best Disney games to
date: "Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour"! Although the
gameplay strategies will cover the Game Boy Color version of the game,
most of the strategies and other gameplay details covered here will
cover all the 3-D home console versions as well (including Sony
Playstation, Sega Dreamcast, and IBM-PC/Windows). So, without further
ado, let's get started on the Disney Racing strategy!

*****************************************************
2. WHAT'S THE STORY? (Fireworks Machine Disaster)
*****************************************************

Not many visitors to the "Walt Disney World" Resort know about this
secret: the reason why there are fireworks every evening is that there
is a hidden fireworks machine (or as Jiminy Cricket calls it, the
"Walt Disney World Magic Machine)" behind the Magic Kingdom. This
machine shoots off fireworks every evening making the resort an
extremely magical experience that no tourist will ever forget.

Little did this machine know that one day, it was going to be in for
some serious trouble.

You see, one morning Chip and Dale heard the news about this
mysterious magic machine and being the curious chipmunks that they
are, they went to investigate for themselves. Amazed they were, of
course. A few minutes later, Dale decided that he was ready to relax
and have a snack. He was in a excited mood after seeing the machine...
so excited that he pulled out his acorns in haste. Oh heavens, Dale
should have taken a few deep breaths to recollect his thoughts and
get away from the machine first because the acorns accidentally
slipped from his hands... and INTO THE FIREWORKS MACHINE! And
because of that, the fireworks machine began to malfunction... and,
unfortunately that even led to even more major trouble. Because of the
acorns clogging up the machine causing it to struggle, the fireworks
machine exploded, sending pieces all around the Walt Disney World
Resort. "Sound the alarm!" cried Chip. "We've got to find those pieces
of the Fireworks Machine by tonight, or we're REALLY in for it!"
"Right!" said Dale. "Also, let's see if we can find our friends to
help us out on the search. Let's get to their home turfs on the Walt
Disney World resort, quickly!"

Their friends did hear the news about the explosion as well, even
before Chip and Dale rushed into their home turfs to frantically
spread the word. They all were willing to assist Chip and Dale on
the Fireworks Machine search including Oliver Chickley III from
Disney's Animal Kingdom, Bruno Biggs from Rock 'n' Roller Coaster,
Amanda Sparkle from the Disney Studios, Baron Karlott from the
Haunted Mansion and many others.

Time is running out for Chip, Dale and the crew. Will they be able
to collect the pieces of the Fireworks machine and rebuild it before
nightfall hits? The answer is up to you, so get ready to join the crew
as they initiate the "Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour"!

*****************************************************
3. GAME OBJECTIVE
*****************************************************

In order for you to help Chip, Dale and the rest of the crew to get
the Fireworks Machine rebuilt before nightfall, they have decided
to do the racing method. Although they are all committed to make
sure that the Fireworks Machine pieces are collected, one person
has to be 'chosen' and 'trusted' to get those pieces quickly.

That's where you come in (and again, I'm covering from the Game Boy
Color version of the game). As soon as you start a new "Adventure"
game from the main menu, the game will ask you which character you
want to be (I will explain the characters later). After that,
you're on your way to some wild and wacky races based on "Walt
Disney World" resort attractions! However, not all tracks will be
available when you start the game... you have to EARN the right
to those tracks. The only track that will be opened at the start
of a new game is the "Big Thunder Mountain" race course (I will
list the courses later in this guide). Only after meeting certain
prerequisites will more tracks be opened (which will be explained
later with the 'race course' section as well).

Then when the race begins, that's where the real challenge comes
in: You must beat your opponents to the finish line at the end of
the third lap in order to obtain a Fireworks Machine part. The
3-D home console versions (Playstation, Dreamcast, IBM-PC/Windows)
places you against 5 other opponents, the Game Boy Color version
places you against 3 other opponents. Whatever version of the "Walt
Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour" game that you play, your
'challengers' have one purpose... to make sure your 'trusted
character' does not succeed in getting to the finish line first!
The reason why: there are random power-ups on the racetrack to be
picked up via Mickey balloons (I will also explain the power-ups
later), and when they have that power-up in their hands, they are
not afraid to use it to trip you up and cut you off at the pass!
However, you'll be picking up those same power-ups as well, so
you'll will be showing them a thing or two as well should your
'challengers' attempt to mess with your racing prowess.

There are three other "Disney Challenge" courses as well; you
do not compete against any other challengers. However, you have
to collect 30 coins on the three courses before time runs out.
The 3D home console versions (Playstation, Dreamcast,
IBM-PC/Windows) gives you 4 minutes, the Game Boy Color version
gives you 2 minutes. These have to be completed for other
specified race courses to be unlocked, which will be explained
later.

*****************************************************
4. CHARACTERS
*****************************************************

Here are the character participants for this game. For each one
I will list their main description, their overall personality
status, and their home turf on the "Walt Disney World Resort"
if there is one. There are a total of 13 characters in this
game -- 10 main, 3 secret. For the secret characters, I will
list the criteria that needs to be met in order for that said
character to be available.

*****************************************************
MAIN CHARACTERS
*****************************************************
(1) CHIP
DESCRIPTION: The smartest of the chipmunk pair, he'll use
clever ways to nail victory on the race course
and obtain the Fireworks Machine pieces.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Same as description, smart and clever
     HOME TURF: Unknown

(2) DALE
DESCRIPTION: Very enthusiastic and high energy when compared
to Chip. However, like Chip, he still uses
cunning, but in a extremely wild manner to
		  win each race.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Extremely wacky and fun loving
     HOME TURF: Unknown

(3) AMANDA SPARKLE
DESCRIPTION: Amanda is one of the shining child superstars
at the Disney Studios. However, when she is
not doing movies, she never turns down an
opportunity to hang out with Chip, Dale, and the
rest of the crew and have some fun around the
"Walt Disney World" resort. When she heard the
news about the Fireworks Machine explosion, and
that the whole group was doing the 'racing'
approach to find them, Amanda did not hesitate
to join in. Besides, she loves racing,
and she'll do whatever it takes to win each
race course and find those pieces quickly.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Very cute and very sweet, you'll fall in
love with Amanda when you meet with her
for the first time. In fact, you and
			  Amanda will become fast friends!
     HOME TURF: Disney Studios

(4) BARON KARLOTT
DESCRIPTION: This guy sure loves spooky stuff. Better watch
out when he does 'scary' attacks and maneuvers
on the race courses. The end results could be
very haunting if you're racing against this guy
		  as one of your 'challengers'.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Frightening, but not much to freak you
			  out totally
     HOME TURF: Haunted Mansion

(5) POLLY ROGER
DESCRIPTION: This girl surely loves the sailing the seas!
Wherever there's water involved on the race
courses, you can be sure that Polly will try
to use this to her advantage to claim her
victory and win the Fireworks Machine parts!
If she's one of your 'challengers' during a
race, watch her moves carefully... very
		  carefully.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: She may be a pirate, but she's a 'nice'
pirate. This should calm down your
fears in relation to comparing other
			  'pirates' in general.
HOME TURF: Pirates of the Caribbean

(6) OLIVER CHICKLEY III
DESCRIPTION: An experienced explorer, Oliver Chickley III
loves to uncover things of the past. He's
currently taking time out of his schedule to
put his exploring skills to work in helping
Chip, Dale, and the rest of the crew find
those Fireworks Machine parts. It just that
in this case, he's got some 'fast' exploring
		  to do!
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Curious (what else would you expect
			  from an experienced explorer?)
     HOME TURF: Disney's Animal Kingdom

(7) TIARA DAMAGE
DESCRIPTION: Oh my heavens, look out when Tiara Damage is
on the loose as one of your 'challengers'!
She's going to make sure that you and the
rest of the other challengers don't even have
a chance at beating all you to the finish
line -- this 13-year-old teenager is determined
to make sure that the race winning results turn
out in her favor... and more importantly, to
make sure she gets all of the pieces of the
		  Magic Machine first!
     OVERALL PERSONALITY: Evil and spoiled
     HOME TURF: Unknown

(8) OTTO PLUGNUT
DESCRIPTION: An automotive fanatic, Otto has been dedicated
to fix other people's vehicles at the "Walt
Disney World" Resort. When word came to him
that Chip, Dale, and the crew were searching
for the Fireworks Machine pieces via racing,
he didn't hesitate to join them. Just don't be
surprised if one of his race cars cut you off
at the pass if he's one of your 'challengers'.
     OVERALL PERSONALITY: Smart and technical
HOME TURF: Epcot Center's "Test Track"

(9) BRUNO BIGGS
DESCRIPTION: A very big fan of Mickey Mouse. And surely, he
looks like a big fan of the "Walt Disney World"
resort as well. That's why he snagged the
opportunity to help Chip, Dale, and the crew
race around the resort to find the Fireworks
Machine pieces before nightfall. Just don't be
surprised if you see him as one of your
'challengers'; he may be big and heavy, but his
racing skills are nothing to laugh at.
     OVERALL PERSONALITY: Bullish
HOME TURF: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

(10) MOE WHIPLASH
DESCRIPTION: This guy is a big fanatic of the Wild West. No
wonder he loves his job as being the Sheriff to
make sure things are under control in his area.
He still would never pass up an opportunity to
race against his friends; he just has to
that in this case, things are not going to be
just wild, but wacky as well in these races!
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Wild (as in 'wild west'; think in that
			  perspective)
     HOME TURF: Big Thunder Mountain

*****************************************************
SECRET CHARACTERS
*****************************************************
(1) JIMINY CRICKET
DESCRIPTION: Jiminy is your guide throughout the game, but
he's one of the racers too! Just be careful
when you see him as one of your 'challengers'
he'll use his cunning and strategy to
		  guarantee a win!
     OVERALL PERSONALITY: Nice and helpful
HOME TURF: Unknown, but he knows the "Walt Disney World"
Resort like the back of his hand!
PREREQUISITE: Collect all of the Fireworks Machine pieces

(2) NED SHREDBETTER
DESCRIPTION: Watch out for Ned, everyone! Like Polly Roger,
he'll use the water race courses to his
		  advantage to get his wins!
     OVERALL PERSONALITY: Wild
HOME TURF: 2 actually: Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon
PREREQUISITE: Complete the "Trophy Mode Challenge" in all
		   race courses

(3) X.U.D. 71
DESCRIPTION: Also known as the "Xperimental Utility Duck",
this guy tests out all the attractions at the
"Walt Disney World" Resort. Just keep your
eyes open if he's one of your 'challengers',
because, like Jiminy, he knows the race
courses like it's second nature to him!
     OVERALL PERSONALITY: Extremely smart
     HOME TURF: Space Mountain
PREREQUISITE: Collect all of the hidden 'fairies' in each
race course (there are 8 fairies per course)

NOTE: The "Trophy Mode Challenge" will be explained in "Race
Course Missions" later, along with the "1st Place Pennant
      Challenge".

5. ITEMS
*****************************************************

Here is the list of items that are used in this game. How
you use these will determine if you will gain victory when you
reach the finish line (and maybe unlock additional secrets, too!).

COINS
Coins are scattered around each race course; these are
EXTREMELY vital. You can collect up to 10 coins; once you
reach that amount, you're character will be at his/her fastest
speed, so use this to your advantage to win. However, make
sure to hold on to those coins -- if your "challengers" attack
you and your vehicle with their projectile weapons (including
acorns and rockets), you will be sent flying in agony and lose
    some coins upon impact (this is for the home console versions;
for the Game Boy Color versions, you'll simply spin out and
slow down. Coins are still taken from you upon impact,
    though).

FAIRIES
There are 8 fairies scattered around each race course. Do your
best to find all of them. If you do, there's a surprise waiting
for you (in case you didn't know already)!

ACORNS
These come in single or triple, but they all serve one purpose:
Aim them at one of your challengers to send them flying and
knock them back a few positions. There are two kinds of acorn
power-ups: the yellow acorn power-up and the red acorn power-up.
The YELLOW ACORN power-up allows your racer to shoot the acorn
projectile straight, so make sure to position yourself to hit
your target successfully. The RED ACORN power-up allows your
player to shoot the acorn projectile like a homing missile,
seeking the nearest 'challenger' to fall victim upon impact.

GUIDED BOTTLE ROCKET
This is the 'ultimate weapon'; guide this weapon to your chosen
target and send the victim flying! Your chosen racer will steer
automatically, so you just have to worry about guiding this
rocket so that it won't crash. Just don't be surprised when one
of your 'challengers' launches this rocket and tries to aim it
toward you when you're in 1st place! But I can tell you this, it
HURTS even more than acorn projectiles!

TEACUP MINE
Watch out when a Teacup Mine is unleashed; any racer that runs
into one of these traps will get caught in it for a few seconds
and spin out of control costing precious time and precious race
positions! Mostly used behind power-up balloons or if a
'challenger' is behind you trying to cut you off at the pass.

FROG SPELL
If the "Frog Spell" is in your possession, and you're in 4th place
(on the GBC version) or 5th/6th place (on the 3D home console
versions), use this as soon as you have at least one or two
'challengers' in your sights! This will turn all of your
'challengers' into frogs, allowing you to gain the upper hand and
regain top position! On the 3D home console versions, you'll be
able to run over your 'victims' as well causing them to lose coins
in the process. But be aware: this spell only lasts for a few
    seconds!

TURBO APPROACH
This gives your racer a speed boost for a few seconds. Use this
wisely, and don't use it if you are preparing to make a turn on
the race courses (on the 3D home console versions mostly, but this
applies to ALL versions); attempting to use this while turning will
make the "Turbo Approach" process very difficult.

INVINCIBILITY APPROACH
Makes your racer invincible; any projectile that is launched your
way while you're invincible will be blocked; on the 3D home
console versions, any 'challenger' that tries to get close to your
racer will spin out of control. That will teach them to mess with
your chosen racer! Unfortunately, like the Frog Spell, this only
lasts a short time as well.

ZIPPERS/SPEED GATES
Look out for these on each race course; these work just like the
"Turbo Approach" item. Still, like the "Turbo Approach" item, use
them wisely to gain the upper hand and guarantee victory at the
    finish line!

*****************************************************
6. RACE COURSES/"DISNEY CHALLENGE COURSES"
*****************************************************

Now, it's time to run through the courses your racer has to complete
to win the Fireworks Machine parts and unlock the surprises that
await afterwards. There are two categories of courses: (1) the
regular race courses, and (2) the "Disney Challenge" courses. For
the regular race courses, each has three missions to complete, one
after the other. Those 'missions' are:

(1) Collecting the Fireworks Machine piece from that track by nailing
1st place after the third lap.
(2) Race on that selected race course again and nail first place to
obtain the "1st Place Pennant". If all the 1st place pennants (1
per regular case course) are collected, then a secret regular
    race course will be revealed!
(3) After obtaining the "1st Place Pennant", return to the course and
complete a "Trophy Challenge". (Note: on the "Trophy Challenge",
there are no 'challengers' this time). The trophy challenge on
the regular race courses, just like the "Disney Challenge Courses",
entails the collecting a total of eight trophies before time runs
out. If all the trophy challenges are completed, then one of the
three secret racers will be unlocked!

Here is a list of the regular race courses, along with the
prerequisites in order for them to be unlocked as you progress:

(1) BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN
DESCRIPTION: Take a quick trip through the wild Big Thunder Mountain.
Just be careful when you're making your driving maneuvers

obtain the Fireworks Machine part from that area.

(4) ROCK 'N' ROLLER COASTER

first water race course! There are many shortcuts to be
found, use them to your advantage and gain the upper hand

obtain the Fireworks Machine part from that area.

(7) TOMORROWLAND SPEEDWAY

		  course.

(8) SPACE MOUNTAIN

obtain the Fireworks Machine part from that area.

(9) PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN
DESCRIPTION: The second and longest of the water race courses, make
sure you know it well and memorize the shortcuts. Your
'challengers' will try their best to use them... a lot!
PREREQUISITE: Complete the "Tomorrowland Speedway" race course, and
obtain the Fireworks Machine part from that area.

(10) SPLASH MOUNTAIN (The secret race course!)

Now, here are a list of the three Disney Challenge courses to complete;

obtain the Fireworks Machine pieces from those
		  three areas.

(3) DISNEY STUDIOS
DESCRIPTION: Amanda Sparkle's home turf is the final "Disney
Challenge" course for the game. This is considered
to be the easiest Disney Challenge course in the
game, so make sure you don't miss any coins as your
		 are exploring the area!
PREREQUISITE: Complete the "Tomorrowland Speedway", "Space
Mountain", and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" race
courses and obtain the Fireworks Machine pieces
		  from those three areas.

Chip, Dale, Amanda, the rest of the crew wish you luck on this game,
and so do I! All right, Disney game fanatics, it's time to show the
video gaming community what were made of in the "Walt Disney World

knock them dead! Oh, and the Disney characters in this game hope
that you'll continue to have fun with them, even after getting the
Fireworks Machine parts to save the evening. I know I will, Amanda
Sparkle will be the #1 racer that I'll hang with in each game
(Amanda Sparkle and I exchange high-fives at this point), she's
my first favorite character from this game. And no, I do not hate
the others, they are all great too. Besides, if there were any
group of characters that I would hang out with, this group is it!
(Now all of us exchange high-fives, and now I even get group hugs
from Amanda Sparkle and Polly Roger!) "We are the best!" we all
shout as we end our gameplay strategy FAQ for the "Walt Disney
