Dragon Warrior Monsters
Review by ThunderJackal
"This game takes a crowbar and beats Pokémon over the head many many times with it"
Rating: E
When I went to Electronics Boutique, with very little money, I made a VERY excellent choice of picking up this game (after literally hours of consideration)
Graphics: 10/10
lots of colors, each specie of monster has its own color scheme, and the icons when walking around look cool. Items have different looks on them, though some items look the same. The gates change every time you go through it, so it shouldn't really get boring to walk through them. The attack animations are pretty cool, from the falling ice shards of White Air, to the blasting rocks of the Mega Magic...
Sound: 9/10
umm...can't comment on the music much, but when I do listen to it (usually I turn the volume off and listen to a CD) its great, but the sound effects could use a little work.
Story: 10/10
Weird story...that's why it gets the 10...Terry's little sister is kidnapped by an evil creature named Warabu, and a good creature named Watabu comes, and takes Terry to a kingdom in a tree to help get his sister back...only to have to help the King win the Starry Night contest before he can get his sister back.
Gameplay: 10/10
The ONLY thing bad about this is trying to get monsters to join your team. EVERYTHING else is easy, though...getting into, and around the options menu, picking attacks, and fights. There TONS of gates to go through, and even lots of hidden gates, too. You can interact with your monsters, and other people and even other people's monsters...you can hold only 19 or so monsters at a time, though. The Breeding's an excellent feature, you can breed monsters to make them stronger, or to get altogether new monsters completely!
Overall: 10/10
I almost forgot about all my other Gameboy games after I got this game, its long, and fun, and usually don't get boring much.
definitely buy...
