"Dude this game is not worth your time and your money!"

Introduction:

This review is for the Game Boy Colour game Rampage: Total Destruction. Rampage: Total Destruction was created in 1998 and is distributed by Midway. In this game, the player gets to play as one of three giant monsters named George, Lizzie, and Ralph. The point of this pointless game is to destroy as much stuff as possible to obtain a high score.

Graphics: 3/10

Is this game really made for Game Boy colour as it says on the cover? When I first played this game, it didn't seem very colourful for a Game Boy Colour game. It looked like a colourized version of an older Game Boy game. Enough with the colour rant, but this game doesn't offer much stunning visuals. Buildings look bland and lack detail. The environments could have been done better and the enemies looked horrible (in the sense there was little effort put into making them.) The playable characters look decent as they resemble the ones from other Rampage games. Overall, the poor quality of the environments and character models gives graphics a rating of 3.

Gameplay: 2/10

The first thing that is very noticeable about the gameplay is that it is very repetitive. All you do is climb up buildings, punch, kick, grab stuff and destroy machines. This occurs for practically all the levels except the one when the player is riding an airplane in a bonus stage. Other than that, it is the same in all the city trashing levels. The only thing not repetitive is the occasional new enemy, but soon the new enemies run out and it becomes repetitive again. Indeed, after a while this game gets very boring, and permanently shelved, gathering dust in a remote corner.

Sound: 1/10

What sound? There practically only one game music in the entire game and it isn't done with much quality. The one song is practically repeated in the whole game and fails under the repetition domain. With only one game music and the same sound effects over and over again, this game gains an abysmal two rating for sound.

Story: N/A

There isn't enough story in this game for it to be given a rating. In other words, there is no story, but this game does not need any story as it is pure pointless destruction of buildings.

Other Comments:

This game is definitely not worth the time. It is pointless destruction that is not even fun. Rent or buy? Neither. I regret buying this game as I wasted $50 on it. It is probably the worst choice I have ever made as a consumer. It needs a large sticker that reads “buyer beware” to warn people for it's lack of quality. If you are insanely bored, try to get it off a friend, but that would be hard as not many people would buy it. In other words, don't play this game if don't need to.
