Pokemon Trading Card Game

"The only decent Pokemon title!"

Okay, I used to like Pokemon, but after playing crap like Pokemon Pinball and Pokemon Stadium, I wanted to just give up, then I tried out this game and it was fun. It was the better than Pokemon Blue/Red/Yellow. But not as good as Gold/Silver.

GRAPHICS 8/10:
Umm... duh.. Game boy graphics. They are very colorful in this game. Like most GB graphics, PTCG has a lot of detail and not just a bunch of blurry crap color.

SOUND/MUSIC 6/10:
The battle music is very dull. You might just want to turn off the volume. The main world music is the same. The option music is not so dull, and neither is the other music in the game (which is not heard often). However, thism usic is the best out of all Pokemon games. How sad...

GAMEPLAY 9/10:
Whoa! Good stuff. The card battles are really good. The deck making is awesome, the card trading and link-ups are great. Half the fun comes from Deck-making, where you make your own decks and then play with them. You can also battle a friend via game link. And you can Card Pop with friends to get cards-common or rare. But you can only Card Pop once with another PTCG cartridge, so find as many people with it as you can to get two rare cards available only with Card Pop. Anyway the gameplay is good but not perfect.

STORY 2/10:
Once again comes the boooooooooooooring repetitive storyline: You want to become the best Pokemon Card colelctor in the world by getting the 4 legendary Pokemon Cards. YAWN. How boring can that be?

Anyway if you like Trading card and card battles, regardless of whether you like Pokemon or not, then you should get this game. Otherwise borrow it from a friend and see how it's like. It's a betetr than average game but not the best.
