Dragon Warrior Monsters
Review by GrimWolf
"This is a great game, and should be tried by all Pokemon fans."
Graphics: 10
The graphics in this game are incredible. You can make out lots of detail on almost every monster. They each have their own unique look, with the exception of Durran and Darkdrium. The maps are not hard to read, and provide easy travel throughout the randomly-generated Mystic World.
Play Control: 10
The game's play control is good, although it is different from the standard RPG. For instance, Start just shows some minor information when you are walking around, and A opens up the menu that allows you to find information about the monsters in your party. It might take some getting used to.
Game Design: 10
This game is RPG, right down to its core. It features the adventure style you find in most RPGS, such as the Final Fantasy series. And it also includes the catch 'em and train 'em style of Pokemon, but this has the breed 'em style, as well.
Sound: 9
It has some good sounds and music, but the music gets repetitive after a while. Alot of the sounds seem the same, too.
Satisfaction: 9
This is a great game, with hours upon hours of replay value. It involves catching 215 (Count 'em!) monsters. Although you can only keep 38 at a time, what monsters you have had are still recorded in the Library. It has 10 families of monsters, which are Slimes, Dragons, Beasts, Birds, Plants, Bugs, Devils, Zombies, Materials, and Bosses. As I mentioned before, there are only two monsters that look the same, and even then their colors are different. The only problem with this game is that it can be very hard to level up. I do know that the Dragon Warrior/Quest series is infamous for that, but still, it gets pretty annoying.
Rent/Buy:
If you love RPGS and have lots of free time, buy this game. If you don't, well, you can't rent it, so you'd be missing out on a good game, full of adventure, fun, and comic relief.
