Review by GrimWolf

"This game is a fun challenge."

Graphics: 9
The graphics are pretty detailed, and you can easily tell by the attack which sword you're using, if it's charge up, anyway. Some of the bosses, like General Kelbesque, also are pretty detailed. I noticed while playing there'd be some minor glitches in the graphics, but nothing too problematic. Even minor minions of Dragonia, who is one of the most detailed characters, look pretty good, like the Dragons and Bears. The mummies look pretty convincing, too.

Play Control: 10
The play control in this game is pretty good. Using items, magic, and weapons is never hard, all you have to do is tap the A or B button, or if you want to charge up your sword, you must hold down the B button until the desired level of power is reached. Alot of the enemies shoot projectiles, and this game has something I don't think I've seen in this type of game before: instead of moving your character just side to side or up and down, you can move him in angles.

Game Design: 10
This game is similar to such titles as the early Zelda games and Final Fantasy Adventure. You basically walk around, searching for objects and weapons, and you swing your sword at nearby enemies.

Sound: 9
The sound in this game was good. It had good sound effects and music, although the music could have been a bit better.

Satisfaction: 10
You may think this game is just a carbon copy of the original, but it isn't. Minor additions, such as the flickering candles, can make a big difference to some gamers. It's a great reworking of an NES Classic.

Rent/Buy:
This game is fun, and pretty challenging. I suggest you buy it. The bosses are tough, and lots of the normal enemies are too. If you're a fan of the original, buy this game and relive the magic from the beginning.
