Keitai Denjuu Telefang
Review by LBBear
"One of the most underrated game EVER!"
"Pokemon Diamond and Jade" are bootlegged versions of the original Japanese version, Keitai Denjuu Telefang. Many people bought the bootlegged version thinking that it was a Pokemon game, but actually, it is not. Smile designed this wonderful piece of game. In this game, there are no Pokemons but E-Monsters.
Story: 8/10
The main character, Shigeki, lost his baseball, so he went to look for it. He stumbled upon this antenna tree and is accidentally transported to another world because his own a D-Shot phone which allows teleportation through "antenna trees." This world is full of strange monsters called Electric Monster. Here, you start your adventure.
Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay is simple and easy to understand. When you encounter an E-Monster, you will be given 3 choices, fight, position and escape. Position tells you your enemy status. Fight lets you battle with the enemy. Escape is to run away. Before battling, you can call 2 E-Monsters to aid you in battle. Sometimes, after defeating an E-Monster, it will give you it's number, which is a really nice feature.
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are pretty good for a Game Boy Colour game, not too bad, not too good, just average. Everything is in 2D. The designs of E-Monsters are done nicely and good.
Sound/Music: 9/10
I really like the music, it is nice to hear especially the boss's sound track, it sounds cool. Each map has different background music and it suits them perfectly.
Difficulty: 1/10 or 10/10
Depends, you can just use E-Cards to level up your monster to 99 and beat the crap out of any enemy or just level up the normal way. The bosses in this game are quite hard, depends on whether you use E-Cards, or not.
Grammar/Spelling: 5/10
Seriously, "Pokemon Diamond and Jade" have some bad English translated from the Japanese version. There are many errors, but still understandable.
Replayability: 10/10
This game is highly addictive. You can level up all of the E-Monsters to lvl 99 and do all of the side-quests in the game. Also, you can try to get all of the E-Monsters in the game. Doing all of these should easily last you another good 30 hours or so.
Overall: 8/10
I give it an 8. Everyone should try it because it is so fun as there are many things to do in the game.
Pros:
+ Story is simple and easy to understand
+ Fun gameplay
+ Lots of stuffs to do
+ Nice graphics for a GBC game
+ Nice musics
Cons:
- Very underrated game
