"Wario hits Game Boy Color once again, a definite hit! I loved it!"

Well, I must say, I was surprised when they released a 3rd Wario-starring GameBoy game, when only Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2:6 Golden Coins starred Mario. I know he has NES, SNES, and N64 games, but still, it seems Wario has stolen the spotlight; at least for a few more games. Yes, this one was THAT GOOD!!!

Gameplay: 9.5

There were many good aspects about this game; one of them was the gameplay. In the beginning, you can only jump and dash, which makes it a bit more difficult and challenging, it takes longer to complete, and makes it more fun. Even though some people may wish they had every move to start with, I think the move-strip was a good idea on behalf of Nintendo. Anyway, the cut scenes aren't that great, but they don't even take up five minutes of the gameplay time. All that usually happens is Wario holds up an item, but others and what comes after them is better. You'll see when you play it for yourself. The bosses had certain attack patterns, but they were pretty easy to figure out after a few battles. They were pretty hard to beat nonetheless, as they can be quick and still surprising every once in a while.
It takes a while to find all of Wario's special forms, even though a few come from Wario Land 2. Some examples are Fire Wario(or Flame Wario, whichever you prefer), Bouncy(Spring) Wario, and Flat Wario. Some effects have cures, others have to wear off, and some can be cured both ways, such as Fire Wario burning to ashes or going in the water.

To sum it up, the gameplay is terrific.

Story: 9.9

The story in the beginning: You meet a guy behind a wall, called, ''A hidden figure,'' who tells you where you need to go. He lives in the temple, so go there when you need to find out the next level you have to visit. You find out who he really is when you find all the music boxes, you can see which ones you have in the first line of your treasure status screen or the bottom-right of the end-of-level screen. If I told you much more, the story would be spoiled, so I'll move on.

Graphics: 9.7

Well, the game's graphics were superb; Wario was about thew same as the 2nd Wario Land, but the levels were greatly laid out, the enemies were more articulated as the game went on, making the graphics worthwhile. Also, the effects or special powers, as stated above, are expertly programmed and thought out; like Wario running around with his butt on fire. Many other antics with good graphics are contained in the game, all of which are worth watching.

Sound/Music: 9

Although the music is good, it can get boring and annoying after a while. One of the game's only weaknesses, made up for by its many strengths. The sound FX, however, are innovative and well-recorded, thought out, and programmed. I wish I could think of other things to say about the game, but it seems only the same things come to mind, which brings me to my next subject...

Replay Value: Good

It's not the best replay value I've ever seen, but you'll be able to play it about 4 or 5 times, at least until you, fight the big boss. Getting all the treasures, however, can get a little repedative, as you'll memorize where most of them are. But getting all the music coins in all the levels can be a bit challenging, therefore adding a bit to the replay value. Fighting the bosses can also be challenging, as it's hard to remember each pattern and carry out what you need to beat them. Therefore, if I were rating it on a scale from 1 to 10, I'd give it a 9.3 rating.

Reccomendation: Best

Definitely a 10. I'd reccomend it to anyone who likes video games and owns a Game Boy Color, since it's a GBC only game. That both adds and subtracts from the game. Not much else to say here, except if you have a GBC, get this game if you don't have it already...kinda tells you this...

Rent or Buy: Buy

A definite buyer. IF you have a GBC or know someone who does. If you don't have a GBC, borrow someone elses, until the Game Boy Advance comes out. A definite ''must have.''

Overall: 10

All the aspects of the game add up to a 10. I know I only gave a 10 for Reccomendation, but that's only because each aspect has at least one flaw, so is not 10 material, but if I had to give one ten, it would be Story, but a 9.9 is close enough.

Conclusion

Buy this game, tell your friends to buy this game, tell everyone to buy this game, and spend at least an hour a day playing this game until you beat it once, but then play it every day anyway. I'm ''addicted'' to it, and you may be too, especially if you're a, ''gameaholic'' like me.
