The Grinch

"One Cool Present Stealing Grinch"
INTRO
The Grinch that stole Christmas. By now I think every American and some international countries knows about this character, the Grinch. If not then they must not watch TV that much. The story is the same here; good old Grinch is trying to stop Christmas from coming. He and max, his loyal dog, go to who ville, and steal all the gifts and presents. This is what this game is all about just like the show. The show was great, and so is his video game. Let me see how can I word what type of game this is, it is a maze, puzzler with stealth.
GAME PLAY
Let me start out by saying this game has 7 levels with 5 boards to each level. Each level is unique in it's own way. There are over 35 boards of fun and challenging game playing. You ca not complain about this. How many hand held games offer you this, very few, maybe a handful. This game is addictive, and has great replay value. Once you beat it and have all the passwords, you will go back and do a level of your choice to pass some time. It is a very good game to have in your collection. It's a shame it never got any major publicity. I figure people just assume TV and movie games are bad. Yes that sentence is true, but not all them are bad, more like 90% of them.
Anyway, you play as the Grinch and as Max in this game. They both have different styles of dodging who ville characters. It is your job to collect all the goodies, before time runs out and do not get caught. There are plenty of mazes to go threw and some are really long. Simple as that, it is easy at first, but becomes hard and challenging. The time limit they give you is fair. I think it would have been easier without a time limit. Lots of times this makes you rush and you die from a stupid mistake. When there is stealth involved there really shouldn't be a time limit. I wish this game gave you an option of with the time limit or with out, it would have been more fun this way.
APPEARANCE
This was made in 2000, and the graphics for a game boy color game can not get any better then this for that time. I wish more game boy color games had good graphics like this. Really well done. The developing team deserves a lot of credit for this. The Grinch, Max, the who ville characters, and the background of the boards are very nice. This is what you call excellent detailed graphics all around. The sound is nice; then again I don't expect great sound from a game boy game.
OVERALL
Like I said before this game can be addictive if you let it get to you. You will keep saying to yourself just one more board, over an over again. It is fun game playing, much different from your every day video game action platform. It is nice to see something different for a change. This is a very enjoyable game, at a good value too, enjoy!
