Dragon Warrior I&II

"Two Excellent Games On One Cartridge"
Back before SquareSoft began amazing the world with the Final Fantasy series there was a little known game by the name of Dragon Quest that was released in Japan. A little bit later it was released here in the US under the name Dragon Warrior. This game was one of the first true console RPG's to be released, and so Nintendo decided to release it free with a subscription to Nintendo Power. Now over 10 years later as the RPG genre has become more story intensive Dragon Warrior 1&2 have been Re-Released for the Game Boy Color.
Graphics: 10/10 Pretty standard NES graphics, In DW 1 there are different backgrounds depending on which type of Map territory that the battle takes place on. The new cut-scenes are a nice touch, and the only problem that I could see graphic-wise would be that the changing backgrounds were taken away in DW 2.
Storyline: 10/10, DW 1's story is pretty basic Save the world from the evil DracoLord. DW 2's is pretty much the same, not to spectacular but it works for these games.
Gameplay: 10/10: Ah the heart and soul of most RPG's is its Gameplay, and DW 1&2, both of these games have excellent gameplay , The battle system is excellent, and so is everything else.
Control: 10/10 Excellent Instead of the cumbersome menus that plagued the Nes versions there is one handy-dandy button that allows you to do everything. Not a single problem with the controls unlike many other GBC games.
Final Score: 10/10 Perfect in every single way for a Portable game, It is a Godsend for us RPG hungry fans who need a game to play on the road and dont want to resort to pokemon games.
Buy or Rent: Buy definintly, $29.99 for 2 great games in one is an excellent deal.
