Review by Rockman X

"A dumb version of a SNES masterpiece"

Hi, it's me again, Rockman X, bringing to you a review of the latest Megaman game to hit the stores. I bought it two weeks ago in a game import store and I think it worth the 50 bucks I paid for it (I live in Brazil, and regular GBC games here cost something around 40 bucks, so it wasn't much more expensive than a ''Made in Brazil'' gamepak).

First, I want to say that I'd love giving more details about history, but my japanese reading is very poor, so I'll skip this part. Sorry for it.

Like I said on the synopsis, this game is a ''simpler'' version of Megaman X for Super Nintendo. Do you wanna know why? There are only four bosses (Chill Penguim, Spark Mandrill and Storm Eagle from MMX and Flame Stag from MMX 2) and the stages are somewhat ''cut'', but the Game Boy version has its laurels. It features a battery, so you can throw your pen a paper on a trashcan. There is also an autofire mode to prevent your thumbs from being destroyed by pressing B millions and millions of times. Surely you'll have hours of fun in your LCD screen, and the stages are easier than the SNES', but the bosses' difficulty rose and sometimes, you'll even have to use an energy tank!

Ok, let's talk about graphics and sounds. The graphics of the animations are very cool, but in the game itself they aren't so beautiful as Pokémon Gold/Silver (The best graphics I've ever seen in Game Boy Color), and the expression ''Blue Bomber'' never sounded so nice as in this game. X is almost a blue blur in the screen. The music is the same of the original game (this means that the music is awesome!) and the sound effects are ok for a 8-bit console.

Now that you know a little more about Rockman X: Cyber Missions, you want to know if it worth the (expensive) price? Yes, it worths. This is the best Game Boy Megaman game I've ever played and it's very good to young boys that have never played the original Super Nintendo version (released in 93). If you are a very Megaman craze, go buy it. If you think the import is way too expensive, wait for the american or european versions, they should arrive at the stores in December or January, and it'll be released with the name Megaman Extreme (I don't like neither the japanese name, nor the american). But if you hate Megaman, give the Blue Bomber a chance and at least try to play this game, you'll become addicted to this 8 meg cartridge from Capcom.
