Harvest Moon 2 GBC

"Farming, Not something you would expect in a Video game would you?"

Harvest Moon is not your everyday game, You don't run around with guns,cast magic,or anything like that...You Farm!
Now you may be thinking ''Farming?!?! What the ****'' Give the game a chance, it's VERY addicting, although sadly after a long period of time it will get quite repetitive.

Graphics-7
You can tell what everything is, and when things are ready to harvest, but the graphics are very ummm wellll...bland. The graphics look MUCH better in color. What's nice is you can tell when grass needs to be cut, if crops are watered etc. But I wish they had givin' a little more presentation to it.

Sound and Music-5,6
The sound is average, a slight sort of hissing for rain, slight clomps for running,It's almost nonexistent since it really doesn't play a big role. The music is cheery and you might even hum along but...It gets old real fast.I f my memory serves me there is different music for each season and some other events.

Game Design-9
It's so original! Normally you wouldn't think farming would make a good game, but it does! Each day you must: Water your crops,Tend to livestock (when you get it),Cut grass,harvest crops,do a few other things like pick berries for extra $$$.
Now all work and no play is boring right? So expect to go into town often and talk to people, don't forget to attend annual festivals!

Story-3
Not much, The farm will be made into a theme park in 3 years unless you shape it up. Hey I have seen worse! A few minor things happen among characters throughout the game.

Repay-6
You can try a new approach to your farm,say heavy on livestock,don't have any crops crops,don't clear off your land,don't tend to your livestock for a day, You can do many things to make the game harder on yourself (although who in their right mind would want to do that?).Though after a while you've done everything you can do...But don't expect that to happen to quickly!

Rent/Buy?-Rent
This is tough, if the idea doesn't appeal at all forget it.
If it slightly appeals rent it.
If you think it's a great idea/you loved other HM games I'd say buy it.
The tough part is it's hard to rent Gameboy games (well it is for me!) You could also see if it's possible to buy the game and then take it back within the time the store allows you to return a game.
