"Another Mario sport winner."

To say that I liked Mario Tennis on the Nintendo 64 would be an understatement. I played it for hours and, My only critisim was the lack of a create a player mode. Mario Tennis on the GBC lets you Train a player and his/her partner from scratch giving you a great sense of success if you win. You can also transfer your well trained character onto the Nintendo 64 and see how well they can play against the big boys. I thoroughly recomend the use of a transfer pak for this game as it adds a lot.
Story: You are a new player at the tennis acadamy and you must train yourself up through the ranks of your club to reach the traveling varsity squad. If you succeed in the squad you may even meet the best player ever Mario! Well it is a typicaly cheesy story line, but it is a lot more immersive than Mario Golfs.
Controls: Mario Tennis' controls are very similar to the N64's version and are very simple to get in to yet very hard to master. The overworld is simply controled by the pad and the a button.
Gameplay:It is extremely well done and put together the little features like the countless amount of lessons, mini games and tournaments are all seamlessly put together and very fun.
Lasting Appeal: If you have a transfer pak and MT on the N64 it will literally last forever. Yet even if you don't It is so hug it will last you a long time anyway(40-50 hours).
Graphics: The graphics are very good for the game boy colour. They are very bright, yet suitabully chunky. The animation and collision detection on a whole are faultless.
Sound: The sound in Mario Tennis is very similar to the Nintendo 64's yet not of such a high quality, they are all very happy and cheesy.
Reveiwers Tilt: Well as you can see I have a very high oppinion of this game, My only real dissapointment is that there are only two major areas : The ginourmous acadamy which has a training area, a practise area, courts for the three classes, a restraunt, gardens, administration building and the dormitory which you and your partner share.
And the Island open stadium which has Three showcourts, a centre court a courtyard area and a lobby. This is all a quarter of the size of Zelda DX'.
