"THE BEST of the Pokemon titles!"

OK, before I start, I will come on out and say it. I don't like Pokemon. I used to, but I don't anymore. So, as you may imagine, when I first started to put this in my Gameboy Color, I was thinking, ''OK, just another game of Ash saying 'Pikachu, I choose you!' or 'Bulbasaur, return!''' But I was wrong. This game wowed me. I was addicted for hours. Here goes:

Graphics-9.1/10
The colors are well done. They are bright and sharp. The Pokemon are well animated. The people look so-so. Nintendo did a good job on this.

Sound-9.2/10
Yes, we are away from the old annoying Pokemon tunes! Not much to say.

Story-N/A
There's not really a story, is there? Ash just tries to beat the gym Leaders.

Control-9.8/10
Simply excellent. Not difficult to learn at all. Very responsive. Very quick.

Gameplay-9.5/10
The gameplay is basically trying to switch two blocks around to make a combo or a chain. The chains can go all the way to ten! Well, anyway, you pick a Pokemon (i.e.Pikachu, Totodile, etc.)and you battle it against another Pokemon or drill it to time mode. You try to keep your stack as low as possible while dropping ''garbage blocks'' on your opponent. Whichever stack touches the top first loses. It gets progressively harder, as you would imagine. In challenge mode, I can only get to the Elite four on Normal! I know, I stink. In time mode, you have a certain amount of time to get as high of a score as you can.
To end, the gameplay of this game is absolutly stunning.

Variety-9.3
Lots of different modes, but it is always the same thing. I am not saying that it is not addicting though.

Fun factor-1000000000/10
Just kidding. 10/10. This game is so much fun. It's FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN!

Replay Value-9.0/10
You can replay it, and I guess that it would be just as fun.

Should you rent or buy?
It depends. If you like Pokemon games than run to the store and buy it before I can say fuzzy lumpkins. If you don't like Pokemon but you like Puzzle games, than it will probably be just as fun. If you don't like either than you probably won't like it, though.

To end, I just would like to say that I think this game is better than any other Pokemon title ever released. It is a great game.
