Game & Watch Gallery 3
Review by Gauntlet Man 99
"A nice collection of simple 80s games"
Introduction-
The Game and Watch Series dates back into the 80s, and only recently has it been revived. Game and watch Gallery is basically little games, such as the original Donkey Kong, where Mario is trying to save the princess from DK. This one has 5 games which are playable from the start, and some bonus ones too, but I’ll leave those up to you to discover. Now, onto the actual review!
Graphics- 8 out of 10
The graphics on Game and Watch Gallery 3 are fairly simple, due to the fact that you don’t need superb graphics to play the games. It’s easy to tell what things are and objects aren’t choppy looking at all, they’re nice and smooth. The game makes great use of the colors too, everything is bright and colorful.
Sound- 9 out of 10
The sound in the game is great, with all of the sound effects and the many different songs for the games. Every area and game, has different songs, except the Classic versions which the sounds are just beeps to symbolize movement and other things like that. The music doesn’t even get annoying if you play for hours on end.
Play Control- 9 out of 10
With 10+ games not including the classic versions of them, it may seem like a lot to remember but really it’s quite simple. Because these are 80s games, the controls aren’t very complicated. And before you play every game, it will show you what buttons do what on the Game Boy Color.
Game Design- 10 out of 10
With all of the different games it took a lot of hard work from Nintendo to think of new and imroved versions of them all. Game and Watch Gallery Three has some great classic 70s and 80s games, like Donkey Kong and Egg. Plus with all of the hidden features you’ll find, Game and Watch Gallery is definetly worth the thirty bucks.
Replay Value- 10 out of 10
This game will keep anyone playing for hours on end. Plus the fact that the more you play the more games you’ll unlock. With all of the different varieties of games, there’s something in here for everyone. Plus whenever you lose it seems to give the urge to play it again until you set a new high score.
Overall- 9 out of 10
Game and Watch Gallery has over 10 games including the original version of them and you’l unlock more with the more games that you play. Game and Watch Gallery may not have any full length games but it does have some really fun short games and many other little tidbits you’ll unlock as you go along. Also, it’s rated “E” for “Everyone” by the ESRB rating board.
