"Have they ever heard of "Nuclear Missiles?""

R-Type DX is the re-incarnation of the arcade hits R-Type and R-Type II, plus a new R-Type game, R-Type DX, plus the original R-Type and R-Type II in black & white, plus some weird designing thing called ''De Souza''.

Game Play-
6/10

Mr. President, we have plenty of spaceships, but we will play it safe and only send one up there to save humanity forever and prevent imminent global destruction.

Mindless shooting for miles and miles, we've all played it before. Why should we care now? Because there are watered-down versions of R-Type and R-Type II, plus a new game called R-Type DX. You shoot from a ship from a 2D angle in outer space the whole game. You get power-ups that attach to the front ship and do certain things. The game lost all difficulty after I played R-Type after R-Type after R-Type. Not to mention the experience gained from Gradius and Darius after Gradius and Darius.

Control-
7/10

We can rebuild the ship any way we want to. Let's do it like last time, and use paper airplanes with a gun taped to the bottom.

The control is average. Not excellent, not horrible.

Graphics-
4/10

I think we should name the ship ''Ship 1''. It works, because our ship will win, and what's the future tense of win? It's won!

You see, R-Type and R-Type II can play on the B & W GB, but R-Type DX, the game, not the cartridge, cannot be played on the B & W GB. And I think the graphics could've been a little more detailed. The game's stages almost look the exact same. I could barely tell the difference between you.

Audio-
3/10

The music and sound effects sound nothing like the arcade games. They're an insult to the R-Type name, and an insult to the R-Type game. (It rhymes on purpose)

Enjoyability-
6/10

Once you unlock everything, sell the game. It's useless for you again, unless you want to erase everything and start all over. But I don't think you can.

Score Rundown
Game Play-6/10 - Watered down versions of the arcade games.
Control-7/10 - Average
Graphics-4/10 - R-Type DX for GBC only, get outta here!
Audio-3/10 - Just remember the rhyme
Enjoyability-6/10 - When you're done, sell it

Score-26/50

Overall-
5/10

If you liked the shooters that dominated the early days of the SNES, such as Darius Twin and Gradius III, then rent this. RENT THIS! No buy, just rent.
