"2 Amazing RPGs in one fun-filled game pack"

Graphics:
9/10-
The graphics in both games are amazing for a gameboy color system. I prefer the graphics in the first Dragon Warrior because of the battle backgrounds. It has basically the same graphics as they did on the old Nintendo games. The graphics in Dragon Warrior II could have been better if they had added the battle backgrounds like in Dragon Warrior I. The battle animations like the sword slashes still look the same as in the NES games, but they could have made them a little better. The spell animations are OK, but as in the weapon animations, these could also have been improved.

Sound:
7/10-
Game designers don't have much to work with on the sound with the Game Boy Color. They did what they could, and I commend them for that, but it isn't the best they could do. I would like to see developers unlock the potential on the system, but it's now the Game Boy Advance Era, and many developers will switch their concentration to the Game Boy Advance.

Game Design:
8/10-
In both games you have a pretty tough time finding out what to do next. I found myself reffering to FAQs a little to much. Dragon Warrior I it's a little easier on the aspect of what to do. Dragon Warrior II I found was harder to get through without a FAQ, but made up for it with three players to play with. The game in Dragon Warrior II gets really hard, I mean really hard, to get to Rhone. I had trouble with a FAQ! Both games have great depth when dealing with spells, weapons, items, and monsters.

Overall: 10/10
Dragon Warrior I-8/10-
Dragon Warrior II-8/10-
Overall I loved this game. It retained the same addictive substance that it had on the NES. In some spots both of the games get really hard. But you will eventually get through it. The reason I give the overall score a 10, is because it has two, count em, two whole games on one pack. On the box it says 40 + hours, but I spent around 50 + hours on it. I will recommend this to all my friends because this is like the Final Fantasy of Nintendo. Even though you can play Final Fantasy on Game Boy, I still view this as a must have for RPG lovers.
