Dragon Warrior I&II
Review by Mogster453
"A remake of two classic RPGs from Enix all in one amazing package"
DW1&2 is one of the best RPG experiences you can get for the GBC. With it's upgraded graphics, changed text, and since its now portable, who can ask for more? Enix has made very good games and are just as good remaking them. But I kind of wished that Enix made more original DW games, rather than remakes... Only if DW was more popular in the US, people can understand that this game is could even be better than the FF series. Okay, 'nuff with the small talk lets get started on the review for Dragon Warrior 1&2!!
8-Story:
Dragon Warrior I: You are a descendant of Loto, and your duty is to retrieve the light orb, save princess lora and slay the evil Dracolord.
Dragon Warrior II: You are the descendant of the hero that has slain Dracolord centuries ago and you and your two cousins must defeat the evil cult leader, Hargon.
Both games have rather original storylines, since both games were originally for the NES, the storylines aren't as big as RPGs today.
8-Gameplay:
Both games have easy controls and the menus are fairly easy to cruise. Both games play just like any other RPG, walk around the overworld find new places, fight monsters, etc.
You will be charmed by this RPG's gameplay and any gamer can play this game with ease.
9-Graphics:
Both games have hugely enhanced towns, villages, dungeons, and overworlds. The character sprites are enhanced as well...they kind of look better. The colours are very vivid and cheerful as well. The battle scenes in DW1 have added backround art so it looks cooler. Th graphics are absoulutly amazing for a game for Gameboy Color.
8-Audio/Sound:
The overworld themes will have you humming them all the time. The music in DW1 is a bit serious while the music in DW2 has more of a cheerful taste. The sound fx are alright like I said in all of my DW reviews. The chimes (reviving, level promtion, etc.) sound a bit cooler than the NES version's though
6-Replayablity:
After you beat both games, you might want to give them another shot, but after that it gets kind of boring.
So the replay value isnt really high, but you might replay this over and over while you are on a roadtrip to Los Vegas or something,
Rent or Buy?:
If you are a Dragon Warrior fan, I suggest that you pick up yourself a copy. Actually any RPG fan can enjoy this game.
