Wario Land 3
Review by RYurko
"Great mini games, and game all together"
When I first purchased this game(Christmas, 2000), I thought what have I done? Wario over Mario? After I played it, I decided not to judge a game by its cover.
Graphics 10/10: Sure most of you, with a Gameboy Advance, might not appreciate the graphics in this game. But come on, this is Gameboy Color, not the Xbox. Most of the graphics in this game was identifiable. Next to Donkey Kong Country, this game has the best Gameboy Color graphics. In some parts there was that good ol' rounded effect =p.
Storyline 8/10: Some people might have given this game a 10, or a 9 for that matter but I wasn't drastically impressed with it. The game started off with Wario in his plane and he crashes. He is told by a ''Hidden Figure'' to help him collect 5 Musical Boxes, and he will be released from the Music Box, once he regains his power. Wario also gets to keep the treasure that he finds. In this game they could have made some more characters/sub-characters, but there were none.
Gameplay 9/10: Wario Land 3, has excellent gameplay. For every level you collect keys, and the odd time receive a Musical Box when you open a chest. Wario has many different forms to help him get upon different sections of the game(ie bat Wario, invisible Wario, and ball of string Wario).
Sound 8/10: Even though I gave it an 8/10 I was impressed with the sound(maybe it's because I'm used to Squaresoft but hey..). Wario makes his usual sound which is kind of hard to explain once he is injured. There is different music for day and night, etc. There also seems to be a different sound effect for everything...That is hard to find in a game(ie Final Fantasy battle ending).
Replay 10/10: This game has excellent replay just for the fact that you don't have to get all of the artifacts, over the first time around. Playing it the second time(or just continuing), you can obtain all 10 golden coins for each level. This is to get the last Mini Golf Course.
Final Score: 45/50
9/10
This game will provide over 30 hours of frustration, or whatever you want to call it. Sometimes you just can't resist to go to Gamefaqs and look at what to do. That is what makes the game enjoyable...right?
