"Pokemon just ran out of gas (once again)"

Ok, I know so many people like the pokemon games, but look, pal, they are just running out of gas. They're pretty much the Mcdonalds of the RPG world. And like Mcdonalds, they are eventually going to die out.

Gameplay 8/10

This could do with a tiny bit of work, but who cares? Unlike Pokemon, where you have to catch the creature withoout killing it, you can now just smash the creature to bits, and if you kill it enough times, you can get animite with that creature's essence, and then you can make a ring for that creature.

Graphics 10/10

This is a game to revalutionize RPG graphics! I mean, it's almost 3D, and, well, the in-battle graphics have a 100% great thing about them: the colors and the fact that you don't get the stupid attack thingy graphics of the PKMN games.

Music 8/10

This game has great tunes! the boss battles have a great tune, and so does everything else. Best music there is on the Gameboy color. Also, there are some awsome tunes that are not found in most other gameboy games. Such as tunes that change from place to place, and even the battle music changes for each area. As I said before, best sound on the GBC

Storyline 9/10

In pokemon, it's catch em' all. In Magi-Nation, it's save the world from a group of people called shadow magi, led by an ancient (the guys who had the first knoledge of magi powers) who thinks that the magi, or children of Agadon, should be wiped out. Which sounds better. Plus the names in Magi-Nation are cooler.

Replayability 5/10

The game has weak point, and that is the replayability. The main reason for this is that the secret start function means that the game cannot be replayed, cos' you do the secret start, and you have nearly everything that you had before. The replayability is actually a 10 if you count the secret start, but I didn't. I will factor this to the score as a ten though.

I think that you should definately buy this game. You'll just keep wasting money renting it, because it's so good, you'll just want to keep getting back to play again.

total: 9 out of ten. I reckon that some improvements could be made, but it's still the second best GBC game I've ever played. If you want a RPG game that will be the best 20-30 dollars you'll be spending, get this game. With perfect graphics, a story line to shame the PKMN games, plus the best music the GBC can house, a secret start that let's you get the items and spells all over again, you will be just crazy about this game.
