"One of the top five games for the GBC"

Magi Nation is based on a card game by the same name. Basically you play a kid with the power to wield powerful DC's(Dream Creatures)who have special powers, plus you can do spells.

Gameplay(9/10) The game is great for any RPG lover. It has great turn-based battle system where you can use up to 4 DC's at once. They appear on cards during battles. They must be summoned first to attack though, and they cannot fight until the next turn. You can also use spells which are found in the form of scrolls. Just beating the game may be easy, but after you get hooked(which happens fast) you will stop at nothing to get every rare creature there is AND you will want to get all of their attacks.

Sound/Graphics(10/10) The sound is where the game really shines. This game ranges from classic evil music, to full orchestra music(in a primitive form of course). If you open up the special Game+ feature by getting extra items(I will not tell you what they are but you will know when you get there), there is a hidden passage in a surprising place that gives you access to a room with a Jukebox that plays every song in the game plus a few new songs. Just so you know, if you open up the room, when it asks you if you want to format your game, formatting is DELETING your game.

Story(7/10) The game would get a perfect score if they had integrated the story into the game more. In the middle the game has an awesome story that really wants you to learn more about, and then the game just ends. If this game had flashbacks alone it would get an 11 out of 10. Another thing that would have been better would be if Tony(the main character) was more involved in the history.

Replayability(10/10) This game has a great Game+ feature which can't be opened until the game is beaten. This must be opened to get around 1/5 of the games creatures. One thing that was annoying about the game though, was that you need a gameshark to get every DC.

Buy/Rent. Ummmm, BUY. Renting RPGs is just plain stupid(believe me I rented Zelda: Ocarina of time, later on when you feel nostalgic and you want to walk around in the game you don't have it, plus you end up paying more than it costs to buy!). Plus I don't even think you can rent GBC games.

Overall this is a great game, a must-have for those who don't have a GBA. Although I disagree with the guy that said that it wasn't embarrassing to have like Pokemon. My friend saw it and said that it was ''Pokeemons''. Anyway it's a great game, and I think there is a sequel for the GBA.
