Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

"A great game, but on the gameboy color... it isn't that great"

I love Tony hawk pro skater games a lot. I could never stop playing them! The problem was they never made a Tony Hawk Pro skater game for the systems I had, so I always had to go to my friends house and play it there. When the game finally came out for the Nintendo 64, I wanted to get it but... I was kind of broke. I saw the gameboy color version though and it was cheaper so I bought that. I couln't wait to play it! When I come home, I COULDN'T FIND MY GBC!! I looked everywhere and finally I notice that it was in my pocket! Hehehehe. Anyways, I played the game and man was it bad. I wish the programmers could of put some more effort on making this game. There's not much to do on this game. Every tony hawk game has just a little free play mode where you can go to a skatepark and just skate for fun and try to get lots of points! Well this one, all you can do is race against a CPU, or be in a tournament race, or you can just do halfpipe mode. Halfpipe mode is probably the best one. I hate it when you race the view is in a birds view! It's annoying! I have a whole list of things that aren't in this game that were in the other Tony Hawks pro skater games. I don't get it! Did they just make this because just to get a little more money. Probably something like that.

This game is way different thant the console versions

No mode where you just get to skate just around the park and do tricks. That's the thing that made me very mad about this game. You can't do that! That is my favorite part and in this game you can't do that! They also didn't include a lot more stuff which made me mad.

Tricks! Tricks! Tricks! NEED MORE TRICKS!

I guess tony hawk was never supposed to be made on the gbc. You hardly can do any tricks since you only got the A and B buttons. You can grind though but grinding is pretty easy. All you do is just jump and land on the pole and tada! You'll be grinding! I wish they made doing that a little harder. It's too easy! You can go off jumps which is pretty cool.

Game play modes! Where did they go?

Like I said before, hardly any game play modes!

1 on 1 Vs. CPU- In this, you just get to race the CPU around only 5 tracks.

Tournament- It's a tournamnet! Need I say more?

Half pipe- The best one I think. You are on a halfpipe and all you do is do tricks. sounds kind of boring but is fun. You can choose from only 3 halfpipes which kind of stinks.

No Multiplayer either!?

I think this game could of been excellent if it had multi player. Racing against your buddy, playing half pipe mode together. Why didn't they put multi player in this game?? It doesn't make any sense! That really stinks.

Graphics

The graphics are kind of bad. The back ground is kind of crappy. The players look really weird. Another thing about this game, I got kind of excited about the graphics because since the tony hawk pro skater for the playstation graphics looked really cool and all, darn, I actually thought the graphics were going to be good! The only part that the graphics look kind of good is when your playing half pipe mode. Everything else is um, not that good, and where is the blood!!! *laughing out loug* just kidding!

Audio

Audio gets kind of annoying. No good music at all. Wish they could of play like some rock music when your playing the game or something. All it is, is some weird old tune. The sound is bad also. I was expecting a UGH! When a guy falls down. The sound, sounds really weird.

Game play

Not enough game play modes. Not enough players. Not enough tracks. Not enough half pipes. Not enough anything! The game is kind of long I guess though. Wait what am I talking about?? The game is short! Only 3 game play modes! Need more! I couldn't stop playing half pipe mode though. IT's really fun, but that's about it. Racing against the CPU is just boring. Well I don't know, all I know is this game really isn't that long!

Re-Play ability
You might want to play the game over again when you beat it. I don't know. I didn't play it over again, but I play the half pipe mode over and over again. That's the only thing I like about this game. I wish they added like a big secret or something. Like a skate park! YEAH! But they didn't. *sigh*

Skill factor

I hate that CPU! He's always faster, and when we bump into each other... I am the one who always falls off my skateboard. Darn CPU! The game is a little hard. Doing tricks is simple. Half pipe mode is actually fun instead of hard. The race against the CPU mode is a little hard. Every course is a little hard. That's about it!

Play control

Where did all the cool tricks go? Oh yeah wait! There's only the A and B buttons. Ah shucks! I think it's very dumb that when you press up 2 times you get a little boost. Like a real skateboard will do that. Anyways, the play control isn't that good.

Satisfaction

When you first play the game, I bet ya you might like it a little bit. It's really fun, but later on, you'll get bored and probably forget about it!

OVERALL

Sorry, but I give this game a 5/10 which is a F!. It's like half of the real tony hawk pro skater game.

Buy or rent

Rent because it doesn't take that long to beat
