Dragon Warrior III

Review by Paulos

"An almost PERFECT Gameboy Color game."

Let me tell you, when I first bought this game I just wanted a good color rpg to play with and enjoy, and perhaps, be able to occupy myself at work since I have alot of free time and so on, because I liked building up characters and etc... well, I got my wish, and alot more than that.

In Dragon Warrior III, you play the son or daughter of the brave hero of Aliahan, Ortega, who was killed by fighting an evil monster at a volcano... your character grows into a hero, and the successor to Ortega, and must travel the lands, help good people, slaughter monsters, gain exp and levels, and so on... a usual rpg you think, but as I have said before, it is particually GREAT because they allow you to make your own characters and let them have their very own classes and so on!

Graphics: 88%
Words: Incredible anime, figures, people, mazes, world map, kingdoms, houses, caves, they were all so anime type drawn well. Like a realistic medieval house, houses have the rugs, tables, chairs, jars, and so on! Incredible!

Sound: 73%
Words: Well, not exactly great, but the good tunes and midi make it the game a bit better, but the music and sound effects just sounded just a LITTLE or alot bit bland to my liking and rpg sound tastes...

Replay: 85%
Words: As I said in my Golden Sun review, a game that you can create your own characters from Level 1 and just train them into great warriors, as if you were their own intsructor, and you are their master, it will really... really never get old.

Gameplay: 85%
Words: The Gameplay value is high due to good menu, very nicely done stats and good systems such as the battle modes, and moving around quickly and slowly, it is a very nice idea and it worked very well for this game.

Story: 50%
Words: Not bad story, but its not that great, honestly.

Characters: 89%
Words: Fact is, these characters were VERY good. The Warrior, Fighter, Mage, Cleric, all good and smartly made characters... a shame that you cannot have more than one hero, heh :)

Violence: 1%
Words: As usual, just monster slashing and spell casting.

Final Words: Buy the game, at $20, at $40, at $60. Any of those prices are worth it for this game, and I got it at Best Buy for $30! GO BUY IT! BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY!
