"The game that you watch, I guess"

The Game & Watch Gallery! The showing of 5 mini-games that you apparently watch (and play) is a good idea, and this game is a good idea as well. This is a review covering all 5 games, but first the overall part...

---Graphics (8/10)
So it's GBC, does that mean the graphics need to be really cool? No, but the colors and brightness are good, and the 2 and a half D game is nicely done too

---Audio (7/10)
Sound effects work okay, they aren't a big pain, but the music is very much not good. Oh well, that's GBC for you

---Control (10/10)
No problems here! Games control fluidly and tight, good because they require much skill

---Gameplay (5/10)
WHA? WHY IS THIS A 5? Well, this part of the Gameplay is the notes and stars and such. Really, no big deal, more like a stupid extra. The cool thing is that each game can be played in new or old form, along with 2 difficulty levels. Old is not worth playing, so here's gameplay on the 5 new ones.

PARACHUTE (10/10)
In this game you catch the guys falling down holding on to parachutes in your canoe, with special bonuses and different speeds and other obstacles coming down. 3 guys fall into the water and YOU LOSE! There's a cannon, but it never does anything too special. I spent most of my time here, because it involves skills at paying attention. One great game!

HELMET (9/10)
In this game, you must get to the other door about 1 foot away. Buuuuuuuuut there is a Hammer Bros. throwing, well, hammers at you, along with the occasional mace. 3 hits and you're out. There's coins for more points, and a switch to open the door, but coins make you fatter and slower (I don't know why, they just do!) Kind of hard to get into, but a good game nonetheless

CHEF (10/10)
You HAVE to play as Peach flipping foods in the restaurant. I'd say this is my favorite, because the challenge and excitement is pretty high, for more and more food comes over to you. And there's more: You should feed the Yoshi your well-cooked foods for good points, and if 3 foods fall on the floor, GAME OVER! THE best game here

EGG (8/10)
You must hit Shy Guys in the head with a hammer as they try to break your eggs. Other enemies abound, and strangely enough, the Old version of this game is actually good, because it's less complex. This is the 2nd worst, but it can be addicting. A nice game, but overshadowed by the others.

DONKEY KONG (7/10)
Don't get me wrong, I like vintage Nintendo. Just not this. An update of the game where you save Peach from DK as Mario is the hardest, and don't even try the Old version, for you WILL die! The farthest I got in the New version was Level 2, just showing how hard and kind of mediocre this game is. On the other hand, it is the most action-oriented game, and that's good, because I like action games!
END INDIVIDUAL GAME REVIEWS

---Challenge (8/10)
8 is the perfect score in this category, for it has the right amount of challenge, what with hand-eye coordination, and the Donkey Kong game! Of course, if you add in Hard mode and the Old games, the rating is a 9 or 10

---Replay Value (10/10)
Keep playing, must beat my high score, determined to cream those Shy Guys, ready to waste an hour of boredom in the car. There's the story of the replay value

THE GOOD STUFF
Games are addicting and nicely put together
Chef and Parachute are the coolest mini-games I know
Egg is a shot at 3D gaming, which is good
5 games in one!

THE NOT-SO-GOOD STUFF
Old games mostly suck
Donkey Kong is not as good as the others
Notes and other things besides the games are stupid

---Overall (9/10)
This is what we call a ''special'' game. Yes, it isn't like most games. It's also fun at the same time. Viva La Game & Watch Gallery!
