"Well... its ... not the SNES version... at all..."

Really... this is by far an okay remake of SNES's Harvest Moon... only the thing is without the certain things and gameplay actions you could do in the SNES version, it makes this version look like almost CRAP.

For example, you can no longer run around in the mountain road, which is something all Harvest Moon players loved doing. Also, you are unable to find and even flirt or marry a woman like you were able to do in the SNES version, which I found this to be one of the greatest things to do in Harvest Moon... and since that is gone, it has ruined the game.

Also another thing that was bad was that like I said about not being able to run in the mountain path where the statue of that chicken is was that when you would go into town you would no longer be able to run around the whole entire area and town, no more Easter festivals or nothing, just the option of going to certain stores..... AND NOT EVEN WALKING AROUND IN THE STORES! Just going into a store like a freaking rpg! That is not the objective of Harvest Moon, to be a complete RPG like that! It is a FARMING game to enjoy life with wives, people, festivals, celebrations, power, abilities, foods, drinks, walking! Good thing you can walk around in your own ranch, I am shocked they even let you do that, really!!

I really liked Harvest Moon for the SNES, and I was not fond of it for the Nintendo 64, but for the Gameboy the fact is it is just so disgusting to play at times you just want to forget about it, and go to the SNES verison, because there is just so much more fun stuff and things to do.

You would think having Harvest Moon on a Gameboy cartridge, and just giving up a few of it's nice gameplay things would be worth having because since it is true that having your favorite NES, and SNES games on the Gameboy Color is fun... to me, it is pretty bad for this game. I hope they improve the sequels with wives and the celebrations the farmers and ranchers once enjoyed more.

Graphics: 65%
Words: Graphics was the best thing, because the fact is really the colors were almost exactly like the SNES!

Sound: 20%
Words: Sound and Music was alot more fuzzy and a bit more choppy from the SNES version.

Replay: 40%
Words: There IS replay ability because either way, you will still like farming your ranch over and over... until it gets boring.

Gameplay: 10%
Words: Comparing to the SNES version and the Gameboy Color controls... terrible...

Story: 50%
Words: Same story in Harvest Moon SNES... not bad. You must rebuild your grandfather's ranch in two and a half years before your father will inspect it and say if you are a disgrace or a super rancher!

Characters: 36%
Words: Characters... odd... just odd in the Gameboy Color version..

Final Words: Not really worth buying unless you are a DIE HARD fan of HARVEST MOON, but there are just not enough of the old things to do in this new release to make it worth while... not worth buying... not even worth renting.
