Earthworm Jim: Menace 2 the Galaxy
Review by Blind Guardian
"Don't expect a fun and funny game here."
A few months ago I was at a video game store and I noticed an Earthworm Jim game for the Gameboy color. As a huge have of the first 2 games on the SNES I thought that this would be a great game to add to my Gameboy collection. But when I got home and started playing it, I wished that I never bought it in the first place. In the first 2 Earthworm Jim games there were all sorts of jokes and funny characters and bosses, weapons, sound effects, etc. But in this game it just seems so...bland.
Background: In this installment of Earthworm Jim. Jim must find his Evil twin from selling a powerful weapon of destruction to someone.
Gameplay: Jim must go from level to level collecting little things called power cells, when he gets most of the power cells in a level he can then have enough energy to travel to the next level in a machine call the Inter-Dimensional-Transporter-of-Goodness.whenever you finish a level you will be able to get a password for the next level. Throughout the game you may encounter familiar enemies that Jim has faced in previous games. You can also get different weapons to use to. whenever you finish a level you will be able to get a password for the next level.
Music: I don't know why I even bother mentioning this because the music on all gameboy games suck really bad and this game in no exception.
Difficulty: This game is rather easy and it shouldn't take you more than a few hours to complete.
Controls: The controls for this game aren't bad but they could have been better. At times whenever I'd try to make Jim to a high jump he'd just keep doing a regular jump instead. Other than that the controls are okay.
Overall: Earthworm Jim: Menace to the Galaxy is a rather boring and easy game. Unless you are a diehard fan of the Earthworm Jim series, you probaly would not want to buy this game. If I knew that this game was this bad, I wouldn't have bought it.
