When I first saw the series, they surprised me and were really great, I still watch them they are good and so is this game, this game will keep you busy for quite some time, and you won't get bored until you defeat every duelist.

Graphics - 7

The graphics huh, well the graphics of this game,Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories, are pretty good for the Game Boy Color, but I thinks that I have seen other Game Boy Color games with better graphics, but that does not mean that the graphics are bad, because they are very good, the pictures of the dueslists and the pictures of the monster cards are very well done, except the the special effects, well, it barely has special effects, since when a card attacks the other it just says that it attacked and then the card just disappears with nothing special, so it not that good, but that's no big deal since the gameplay is what counts. The graphics are very good but could have had some work done.

Gameplay - 9

The gameplay of this game is based on the sereis but not so much, because if it were totally based on the series like the Pokemon games, this game would be an RPG, and it's not since all you can do is organize your deck card, and choose against which duelist you want to fight against, and fight duelists to be able to fight even better duelists. You can accumulate experience to have a better duelists level and also to be able to hold better cards. There are also quite good secrets in this game, I won't put them but they are all over the internet. The gameplay of this game is just great.

Sound - 7

Well, the sound, the sound of this game is pretty much all you can hear because the sound effects well, they aren;t very good since all you can hear is like a mini crash when a card attacks the other, and everything else is pure background music, when you are waiting for your opponent to move and when you are moving all you can hear is the music, but that's not importan because the gameplay is great and you will barely notice that. The sound could have been better.

Length - 8

This game has a long length since you will really need to duel against the same sdueslist to be able to duel against others, and you will never get bored of it since it is very good.

Replay Value - 8

Well no matter what you will have to duel against the same ones even if you don't want to because that's the way the game is. And that is not bad at all because you can get better by dueling and that's one way to beat the game, obviously. So you will always want to play this game over and over again.

Conclusion - 7

Buy or Rent? That's the question, well my answer is that you have to buy it since it is one of the best Game Boy Color games and you should buy it no matter what are the obstacles.
