Keitai Denjuu Telefang

"A very strange game......"
This is a very strange game indeed. I picked up a copy of ''Pokemon Diamond'' while I was in China. It turned out the game had a terrible translation and a very messed up storyline. I'll try my best to explain what this game in my review.
Story 16/30
This is what made this game so bad, the storyline. In the beginning of the game, a character called Mr. Beck is trying to get to the land of Electrical Monsters. You, the main character, are trying to find your lost baseball. While trying to find your baseball, you bump into Mr. Beck, and for some reason, you get zapped into the mystical tree and end up in the Land of Electric Monsters. Pretty messed up right? Anyway, you end up in town full of strange creatures, and you notice that you have a mysterious phone with you. You later find out that the phone is used to summon these Electric Monsters. When you regain your conscious, the Elder, a turtle, talks to you. The elder says that you are the chosen one, and your first journey is to get the water supply back to their town. To help you, he gives you an Electric Monster, called Kuribute. The story pretty much goes downhill after that. The storyline doesn’t explain why you ended up in the Electric Monsters world, and why you are the chosen one.
Gameplay 27/40
Since the title of the game has ''Pokemon'' in it, you must think that there are Pokemon in this game. Well there isn't. The monsters in this game are referred to as Electric Monsters. You start out with one electric monster, Kuribute. In your journey you meet up with other randomly placed Electric Monsters. When you beat them, you get their ''phone number'', and now you can ''call'' them anytime during a battle, to come and help you. Sounds pretty messed, right? The battle system in this game is pretty similar to the one in Pokemon. You have your moves listed and you get to pick the ones to attack with. You also have a phone where you can receive email, voice messages, although I don't know why, and you can always call an Electric Monster to help you. The gameplay is pretty much like Pokemon, except for the few differences I just listed.
Graphics 7/10
Not much to explain here. The graphics in this game are pretty much done the same as any other Pokemon game. Not much color and detail went into the graphics though.
Sound 3/10
The sound in this game is horribly annoying. It really doesn't have a tune or beat to it, to me it actually sounds like a beeps and buzzing. Sound is a major drawback in this game.
Replay 2/10
Not much replay. The storyline is crap, so you might not even finish the game anyway. I personally, have never finished this game because I found it to be very boring.
+Tilt -3/5
This game deserves a negative tilt? Because it really doesn't deserve the name Pokemon in its title. This game has nothing to do with Pokemon. Heck, you don't even get to capture these Electrical Monsters, you have to phone them in order to summon them. The storyline and the translation is done very badly.
FINAL SCORE: 52/100
Eh, I'll just round it off to 50
Gamefaqs Score: 5/10
One final question: Rent or Buy?
This game is illegal in North America since it isn't a licensed game, so you can't really get it anywhere except in parts of Asia. You could always download a ROM version.....
