Mega Man Xtreme 2
Review by XxDarktlrxX
"Hmm, that's strange, for a second there I thought I was playing my SNES on GBC!"
''I sent out someone to buy me Mega Man Xtreme, hoping to get the joy of MegaMax X on the gameboy, but they came home with the wrong game, MegaMan Xtreme 2, which I had no idea was even out at the time. It was a mistake, but it was a GOOD mistake.''
Controls /10:
Ahh, its great to see that this doens't have the extra blocky-cliky movment GBC is known for, the controls are loose and free. They allow you to actually get a feel of free movement whereever you're going and at times, you can almost forget this is a GBC you're playing as it feels so simlilar to the SNES versions.
Storyline 8/10:
A pretty good storyline, someone is stealing souls and using them for their own power, y'know, the basic storyline. Gets to be kinda used to the point of annoyance, but it's still good. The story scenes can get to be annoying despite the small number of them as they emit this loud, annoying 'beep' with every letter which will have you contantly turning the sound on and off.
Graphics 10/10:
The graphics are GREAT, animations run smoothly, there is almost no parts where it slows down, and everything looks similar to the brilliantly colored ones on SNES. In some cases you can even see where there are certain forms of shading on certain sprites.
Sound /10:
Not too annoying, however, the louder beeps tend to annoy most, but most of the sounds are exactly like the one's on SNES.
Music /10:
The music isn't too much different from the SNES versions, actually, in my opionion, its BETTER than the SNES versions because you can't hear that annoying 'pan-beat' type sound that made me hate the music on its SNES versions. The only complaint I have is how they messed up the music in Launch Octopus' level(I loved when the music stopped and it went into the beat)
Overall 9/10:
This is, in my opinion, the best action game out on GBC, it's like the SNES in almost every aspect, if not, it's BETTER than the SNES ones with its extra features.
Replay Value 10/10:
This is where this game scores its highest point, I myself played this game around 20 times now, after unlocking everything delete all of your saved data and start over again, the whole adventure is fun all over again!
''To buy or to rent''
Definetely a buy, if you like the other SNES versions, dont be decieved by how poorly the other mega man games were on GB, this is the best one ever released on GB/GBC
