"Totally Addicting and a a VERY Worthwhile Experience"

Don't let this games kiddy appearance fool you. There is some deep stuff in here. For those of you able to look past the childish charade, you will find a deep game that will steal hours upon hours of your time.

Graphics: 9/10

While I am never picky graphics wise, I personally really like the graphics in this game. The pictures of the monsters are well drawn and have a lot of detail. The people and the normal screen are good as well. It is bright and easy to see, making it even more fun to play.

Controls: 7/10

For those of you who have played Dragon Warrior before, the controls will not be a problem at all. But if you haven't, then they will be a problem. The button configuration is rather odd, as you don't have enough buttons to do what you have to do. Also, traveling can be a little slow, as there is no run feature.

Game Play: 10/10

The goal of Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara's Adventure is to catch monsters, breed them, and get stronger monsters. While that may seem like Pokemon, it is executed completely differently, and is by far more fun.
The battles are common Dragon Warrior battles, but with one change: It is the monsters that are doing the fighting, not the main character, Tara. And what makes them even more innovative, is that if the monster is not tame enough, he wont follow your orders, and go wild, sometimes even attacking your own party.
For normal game play, you walk around, going to the main towns, finding out the peoples' problem, and then going into the dungeon to get the key and save that world from destruction. You do this in every world, but because of the games difficulty level, it doesnt get boring.

Music: 7/10

For a Gameboy game, the music is really good. it doesnt seem to beep at all. The melodies are good, but where is the Dragon Warrior/Quest theme????? I wish there was more songs in it though.

Rent or Buy?: BUY, BUY it NOW!

You have to get this game. RPG style with adventure elements make it well worth your time. This game has taken many an hour from my life. You will be pleased, I promise.

This is a great game. Many people will overlook it, but if my dad hadn't bought it for me accidentally, I would have never experienced it's brilliance. If you have been looking for a deep, challenging RPG, this is the game for you.
