Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

"It's a good game for people who only have a GBC"

I don't know why this game got under a 6 on the other reviews, but I think it is better then that! From solid (and very difficult) game play, and decent graphics this game is a good hand held game to play. Also any Tony Hawk Pro Skater fan should try it at least once.

Story 1/10
Well there isn't much of a story here, it is just to win championships, and bust out big tricks. This is nothing uncommon here, because most sports games don't have a story.

Game Play 7/10
Yes the game play is hard, but for the most part it is fun. It has slightly better game play then some of the other games I've played on the GBC. You can choose to do 1 of 3 things every time you race. You can either do a single race, a tournament, or bust big tricks on the half-pipe. The better of the 3 of them is the half-pipe mode. Mostly because it has better graphics, it is easier to play, and it's more amusing to do tricks on the half-pipe then it is in the racing modes. The racing modes are fun but very hard. The computer racer always seems to do much better then you do. Even though you get speed boosts it doesn't help a whole lot. Well the game play is slightly above average.

Sound 5/10
The sound just isn't that great. It's nothing like the cool music you get on the PlayStation version of the game.

Graphics 8/10
This game shows off what the GBC can handle. It has bright colors and excellent looking graphics! When in race mode the place you are skating on is a beautifully designed skate park. When you bust out a trick in race mode it shows you what the trick looks like close up in a picture! You won't find a flaw in the graphics! In half-pipe mode the graphics there look even better.

Replay 4/10
If you ever manage to beat the tournament then you basically have no further purpose to play the game, because you just beat the hardest thing you can do on the game. The only thing you might want to do again is to go on the half-pipe mode.

Buy or Skip?
Well it all depends on what kinds of games you like, and if you like GBC games. Anyway you can find the game cheap just about anywhere.
