"ECW game that is still in style!"

ECW Hardcore Revolution for the Gameboy Color. Now I bought this game about a year ago but played it once and then Gameboy Advance came out so I bought that. But the other day I'm packing for a camping trip coming up and I was looking for a game to play in the 4-hour car ride. I saw ECW Hardcore Revolution laying there so I popped in real quick and wondered why I didn't play it before. I mean I am a diehard ECW/MLW fan. Let me tell you something. The first 5 minutes I was hooked to this game. The ECW games are still in style in my opinion. I've seen some bad reviews about this game but I see nothing wrong with it if you're looking for something to do.

Gameplay

Now if you play any kind of Gameboy wrestling game example is WWE Wrestlemania X8 or WWF Attitude or even WCW Mayhem you will get use to the controls. The controls are similar to other gameboy wrestling games. This game can be pretty fun in season mode which is called Challenge Mode. There is also the very first Barbed Wire match on the Gameboy Color or any other Gameboy wrestling game. I think this is pretty much the only game with it and it's really fun. Also the difficulty depends on what you set it to. If you put the difficulty on Easy then you're likely to win but if you put it on hard you've got a challenge in front of you which is always fun.Gameplay: 8/10

Story

Nothing much to say about the story. Nothing to it really. The story is basically you take your favorite ECW wrestler and wrestle to the extreme style until you're the number one wrestler.Story: 4/10

Sound

Now the sound could've been better but what gameboy color game has good sound? None really! The sound for gameboy color games are usually songs made into midis because as you can tell ya can add the best music into a gameboy color. But the sound was alright.5/10

Graphics

The graphics are a lot better in this game then they were in previous wrestling games. The graphics are better than WCW Mayhems by far. I think they're pretty much equal to WWF Wrestlemania 2000. So if you liked the WWF Wrestlemania 2000 graphics then I'm sure you'll like these graphics.Graphics: 7/10

Replayability

After you've been this game with one wrestler you will probably want to beat it with the rest for fun. But if you aren't into gameboy color games then you'll probably won't even play more than 1 hour of it. I'd say people like me will try and beat it with everyone.Replayability: 6/10

Wrestlers

This is a great part of the game. Maybe the best part which is the wrestler selection. You get to pick from 10 great ECW wrestlers. The wrestlers are: Mike Awesome, Balls Mahoney, Justin Incredible, Tommy Dreamer, Jerry Lynn, Raven, Sabu, Lance Storm, Yoshihiro Tajiri and Rob Van Dam. Everyone likes atleast one wrestler out of that.Wrestlers: 10/10

If you are really looking for a game to play then you should purchase this. I paid 20 bucks for mine which was a decent price at the time. You can get one used for like 2 to 5 bucks or purchase it new for 10 or 15 bucks. I'm not sure if you can rent it but purchasing it would be a good idea. If you didn't like WWF Wrestlemania 2000 then don't bother with this game.
