"Not even for the serious fans"

I saw this game at a yard sale for very cheap, so I decided to give it a try. The Wild Thornberrys is a TV Show on Nickelodeon where the family travels around the world and makes nature documentaries. But Eliza always goes out and somehow gets into trouble every episode, but the family comes just in time to help. I never liked the show myself, but since it was only two dollars, I decided to get it. But even with such a small price tag, I feel like I got ripped off.

Anyway for the story. The Thornberrys decide to go for the Gold Schweitzer award, which is given to the greatest nature documentary ever in the history of the world! Marianne and the family decides to go to the Galapagos Islands, the Amazon, Savannah, Congo, the Himalayas, and the Australian Outback.

Graphics: 4

Everything looks somewhat like they do in the real show, but they are a lot more cartoony then I enjoy. I guess this game was made for smaller children who enjoy the show. But they could have been much better, even for Game Boy Color standards.

Sound / Audio: 2

There are no voices, nor is there anything else except for this very cheesy and annoying background tune that keeps playing over and over. You will tire of it after five minutes. Thank goodness for the volume button!

Controls: 3

The controls are seriously bad. They seem easy from the outside, A to jump, up to climb, B to do the certain action you have to do to beat the level, but the controls are horribly unresponsive, and this is very annoying when you do Eliza's level, when you keep falling out of the trees even after you press jump. They really needed to improve this.

Gameplay: 1

Gameplay? Give me a break! There are only six very short levels in the entire game. If you know what to do, you can easily beat the whole game in ten minutes. At least there are three difficulty level. But that would only increase the game to 1 to 2 hours. This game is not worth looking at, much less buying it.

Replayability: 1

You will not want to play this game ever again, even before you beat it once. I played this bad game just for this review, and I had to turn it off once every five minute because I was so bored of it.

Bottom Line: Even if you are a Wild Thornberrys fanatic, you will not enjoy this game. Even though my review may be biased, since I hate The Wild Thornberrys with a passion, but you should agree with me.

Overall: 2.2 rounded down to 2.
