Review by Coolboyman

"Its great at the first half, but horrable on the last half."

All right, some might not realize that Conker used to be a cute squirrel collecting presents, but that’s who he used to be. Anyways, let me give a review of this game.

This game was made before Conker’s Bad Fur Day when Conkers Twelve Tales were still in production, and obviousaly it was made by Rare. Half of the game is good, the other half- bad, its all explained below

Graphics: 9.5/10
The graphics are GREAT for Gameboy Color; they couldn’t of had any tiles detailed more without having more than 4 colors. The lands are colorful.

Music: 7.8/10
Erm... its ok, some of the music are kinda catchy, some are annoying, and some are repetitive. There’s also a track that was used in Conkers Bad Fur Day :). Overall, the music is all right

Sound: 3/10
Well the fact that almost all of the sounds are ripped from Donkey Kong Land make the game have very little original sounds (if any). There’s only a few sounds, a ding or a boing, nothing spectacular, although they could of not used such obvious recycled sounds.

Fun Factor: 5/10
The game is fun at first, exploring big open worlds, trying to find your birthday presents, as well as special items, character interaction, and just simply exploring. You will want to keep collecting all the items at first... this is 100% true for Willow Woods, Vulture Ville, Krow Keep, and Mako Islands, although the last 3 levels, the swamp place, although Aztec Temple, and Mindless Mines, are HORRABLE. All of these are simply paths or that connect to each other, have repetitive enemies and obstacles (Fireballs, Spikes, Spiders, etc.) and at 1/8th through the level there’s a box puzzle, which you do obviously 8 times which gets very boring, and theres NO interaction with other characters, the only good part of the levels are the bosses... it looks like Rare was rushing... I mean the first 4 levels were great... and then the last turned into such garbage...

Challenge: 8/10
This game looks very kiddy, but the challenge is too much for any small child to take, like the Mako Islands mini games, I am an expert at video games, and 17 years old in age, and I was having MAJOR problems with them, as well as my hand cramping. Its a huge challenge, but the age group isn’t the best, its good that they switch Conkers 12 Tales to Conkers Bad Fur Day for the mature audience. The last 3 levels are not hard, just have to think where to move the boxes, and follow paths, no real challenge involved.

Overall: 5/10
I would of given this an 8/10 if the last levels had the same style, look, feel, character interaction, fun style, but paths leading to puzzles over and over again do not cut it, if Are could of spent at least 3 months on those last levels it would of made a BIG difference, so I really recommend you play until you get to or finish (if you can) Mako Islands, because the last 3 levels are not fun. Although that’s just my opinion, take it or leave it.
