Pokemon Silver Version
Review by LeonL
"Really good game, read this review to see why."
WOW! Finally, a game which doesn't involve horror and yet it's so great. This game was made right after Pokemon Yellow, and it's my favourite game ever (check below to see why).
Gameplay: 10/10
Ok, the gameplay is definitely a 10. They still have to old battle system like the usual Pokemon versions. But this version is where Pokemon tremendously changed. They have introduced time capsules, which lets you trade with the older versions of Pokemon. They have phones, which lets you call people and stuff. This is really helpful as you can get sales from jewels and get 999999 dollars if you use a strategy.
They also have TWO worlds instead of one. Yep, you can go back to the old world from the older versions, which really lengthens the time to finish the game. Next we have what I call the 'mom bank'. This is where your character's mom can save money for you. Up to 999999 dollars I think. So that means you can get up to 1999998 bucks.
They have both the new and old pokemon. So that means now you can catch up to either 251 or 252 pokemon (I can't remember). Not to mention that there are a lot of side quests too. Interested yet? Well don't pee on your pants yet, there's still more.
Graphics: 10/10
Ok, the graphics are pretty good. The trees look slightly more real than the older versions. There is more than just one colour (black). They now have red, blue, green, yellow, etc. Pokemon Silver is less pixilated than the older versions. Not to mention the pokemon looks a lot better than before. The only con I can say about graphics is that the graphics aren't pushed to the limit like Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.
Sound/Music: 10/10
Yep, 10 for the sound too. The sound and music here is really cool. I really like hearing the Rollout attack as I hear nice sound and can dish out a lot of damage. Of course, nothing is nicer than the music you hear in New Bark Town. Oh man! The music there is cool. I always stop playing and hear the music for at least 5 minutes. So yeah the sound is another 10. The only flaw I can say is that the sound has a very quiet buzzing sound if you listen very carefully.
Game time/replayability: 10/10
Now this is where Pokemon Silver shines. The replayability is huge! Why? You need to do at Unown side quests, get all pokedex versions, get phone numbers, get 16 badges, get 1999998 bucks, get all tms, acquire all 251 or 252 pokemon and more! Seriously, I played the game for 172 hrs and I only had 4 lvl 100 pokemon and only had caught 100 pokemon. Why am I so slow? Because there was so many things to do, I had no time to train, in the end, I play the game for so long, the game file screwed up. I cried afterwards.
Anyway, time to change the subject. If you want to just get 16 badges and zoom through the game, this game would still take you about 20-30 hrs, maybe even more. But if you want to do EVERYTHING, o...........k. Then it'll probably take you about as long as me or more.
Overall: 10/10
This game is definitely good. I recommend that you get it. This is where the generation of Pokemon changed. Everything of this game is excellent. I'm surprised that there aren't many faqs or stuff about this game. But hey, people want to keep their secrets.
Buy, rent or download?
Buy of course. It'll take you too long if you rent it and don't ask me why, please? Don't even think about downloading it, cheapskate! It's cheating the company and it's illegal by the way. But on the other hand, the game is a little old. It'll be pretty hard to find it. But when you do, it'll only at most cost $15-25 australian. Don't just stand there, get it now!
