"Possibly the worst concept ever"

Dance Dance revolution on PSX is one of the games that you either love or hate. Or like me, Dont really love but dont really hate, I have now just rendered my first line useless. Let me continue. I hate introductions. Either you know what DDR is (dancing stage in the uk) or you dont.

The two things that make DDR great are the music (a mix of J-pop and trance) and the unique Dance mat. For those of you that have played DDR you know that it is a shocking game with out the dance mat. So how does the gameboy version cover this up. Simpily put. It doesnt.

Now unless you are willing to break youre gameboy by proceeding to jump on top of it and that trying to hit the buttons ala Dancemat style this game will be no fun. It probably wont be much fun if you do that because youre gameboy will most likely break. In fact the only person i can picture getting funky with this is Tom thumb. And he gets funky with anything man

Ok so how does the control scheme work. Well. The directional buttons choose the direction (obviously) and a and b are up and right so you can pull off those 2 direction combos. Woot.

The graphics in this game are well. Ok there not bad. But they are pointless. A man is jumping from side to side in flairs. Woot. Then some arrows go up and down the screen. And he keeps on dancing and dancing and dancing and dancing and dancing. Wow. Inspirational. I wish i could dance like that. No really. I do.

Difficulty. This game is stupidly easy on the easy levels. And stupidly hard on the hard levels. This is the only part of the game, in my humble opinion that they got right. The difficulty sections.

The music is utter turdulence. Unless you like the sound of baby seals being beaten to death by the nanny named fran who happens to be singing to celine dions "my heart will go on" while running her finger nails down a blackboard. And then it gets digitised. Worst music ever. And probably the worst game ever. Dont buy it. In fact if you see someone buying it offer them some poison, the effects are better and its probably cheaper.
