"Review for Potential New Lufia Fans"

If you have never plaid any Lufia games before then this review is for you. Here Lufia The Ledged Returns will be reviewed considering key points with no relations to the older games.

STORY LINE 9/10

This story entrances you with its play. You literally do not want to put the game down! A lot of different people are involved with the story line including normal towns people that actually say something useful for the storyline every once in awhile. At some points the story was a little rushed where they could have added in more detail but this was only because the story was very epic so some this probably HAD to be shortened. Overall you can tell the story flows well you play and doesn't leave you thinking how stupid it is like some other games so it cant be that bad ne?

CHARACTER 10/10

There are many types of creatures in this story. You have you not so bright hero, and passionate healer, along with many other stereo types. You also have your re-occurring enemies, different types of monsters, and grungy bosses. A downfall comes in the number of people who join your party. You start to have so many people that you can't even use all of them to fight, even though you can fight with a ridiculous amount of people (That will come next). After some point you can even get in depth with the people in your party because there are just too many different caricatures.

CONTROL and GAME PLAY 8/10

On the field you encounter random monsters and in dungeons you can see monsters and avoid them. I like how this is set up I find it nifty. Once you start the battle it become less and less nifty however. The battle is set of with columns of three people. If your first row dies your party dies no matter how many people you have in your third and fourth rows. You also use an intricate system using scrolls to gain different attacks that can become complicated. Too many people are just involved with each battle. This game also lacks puzzles. If you like a game that is almost pure fighting and not a lot of puzzles then you will like this aspect. If you enjoy intricate puzzles and that is your reason for playing video games count this game out. I know this section seems really negative but the game play is actually not that bad over all.

REPLAY 3/10

Replay is good for the first time if you are really bored. Really replay involves too much De Ja Vou (or heh how ever you spell that) to be fun but that's ok because the first play though makes up for it.

GRAPHICS 9/10

For a game boy color game the graphics are pretty good. Some bosses looked particularly appealing along with some monsters. Most people looked good in the game. The scenery in the cities is pretty good and so are the dungeons. A draw back is backgrounds. The white in the back of battles was not very interesting to say the least. During battle the graphics for attacks were a little repetitive but I liked them.

SOUND EFFECTS and BACKGROUND MUSIC 9/10

There pretty good from what I listen too, but I may not have an accurate assumption. I tend to watch TV when I playing portable games out of habit. Out of the tunes I listed too I thought they were very good, I even caught myself humming one once. The sound effects are mediocre, just normal, nothing good nothing bad.

DIFFICULTY 7/10

If you play video games a lot it will not be that hard considering you know how to work this type of game already. If you are a new comer I think it could be more challenging. This game is hard at some points when you are being pushed to level up.

OVERALL 8/10

This game is pretty good and is worth playing for sure. If you get it used then it wont cost very much so I really recommend giving it a go.
