Extreme Sports with the Berenstain Bears
Review by Buff McNoggin
"Pull! (Fires Gun)"
Its amazing how quickly game makers will decide to use themes from movies and books, for video game conversions, and not put any thought into them at all. Such is the case with Extreme Sports with the Berenstein Bears.
Story
Brother and Sister Bear get into some extreme sports. The story would have gotten a simple score if you could use all the bears. Its like the dad and mom do nothing at all. They are useless pictures in between events. Simply put if its Berenstien Bears that should mean all of them. Nuff said. 3/10
Gameplay/Controls
You pick either or Brother or Sister Bear and get to choose from four different events. These events are biking, skateboarding, kayaking, and sledding. All the events are really just about the same thing. They change the backgrounds and such to make it look different. What you ride is different but what you are doing is the same. You are going down a hill with different colors. The control for this game is awful. Trying to turn or keep straight is painful on the thumb. You could count how many times you will hit into the nearest tree. 1/10
Graphics
Just because its for little kids doesn't mean there should not be any work put into this area. Even the bears themselves look drawn poorly in the between shots of them. They look the quality of my work from "Mario Paint". Thats not a good comment because my art work is horrid. The colors are in there not for good graphics but to change the level(s) for each different event. Because of this they look just thrown down. There mixed with a dark shade here or there just to attempt shading. Rocks look like blocks filled with a simple gray. Not to much work there either. Trees are green with snow, or just green. To show smaller ones they just shrunk a big one down to size. 1/10
Sound
Swishing sound is for both sledding and moving through the water in kayak. The sound is bad and its not extreme in slightest bit. You don't have much for skateboarding. A small roll hiss and thats about it. Music is repetitive and defintley for little kids. Even they may get annoyed though after hearing it so many times. 1/10
Replay Value
There is none to this game. Even before you play this game you will go through your own little, extreme event. Its called wasting your money.
Final Reccomendation
Don't play it. This one ain't right.
