"A fun little sonic game"

Introduction
Sonic the Hedgehog is a adventure-platformer for the NeoGeo pocket color system. The game has a similar feel to the sonic games for the Genesis system. I feel the game brought a lot to the world of gaming. This game never made it Europe but with the NeoGeo, but you could always import it.

Story 7/10
I don't exactly know what the story is but I know its got something to do with Sonic defeating Dr. Robotnik. You also have to collect rings and all that just like in previous Sonic games.

Game play 8/10
Sonic Pocket Adventure is a platformer like any other sonic game. You play as sonic the Hedgehog, and you go through levels trying to get to the final stage. Typically each zone has two different levels you go through. At the end of the second level you have to battle Dr. Robotnik in order to get to the next zone. There are six zones in total you have to play through. The zones are very similar to ones seen in the first sonic game on Genesis, but maybe the game was designed like this to appeal to old school Sonic fans. It seemed after a while all the levels were really the same thing. Some of the levels included are ones like: Emerald Hill, The Chemical Plant, and even one underwater. There is also a multi-player option where if you can like up two NeoGeo's one person can play as tails.

Graphics and Sound 7/10
The graphics in this were very good. It has a good scheme since it was made for the NeoGeo color system. The levels are nicely well done, and the enemies are also very well designed. The sound in this game was OK but it is nothing special. It seemed the music in the levels was just music taken from sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles games for the Genesis. To be honest, the sound did not bother me to much because music on handheld does not sound good for the most part anyway.

Final Opinion
I think this is a good game for a not so popular system. Sonic pocket adventure is a nice little platformer, but it does seem a lot like previous sonic game for the genesis and such. Overall, I feel this game is good and would make a nice addition to a Neogeo collection.
