Bio Motor Unitron
Review by friedbats
"Biomotor Unitron, great pocket RPG"
Biomotor Unitron is an amazing game for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. It has depth, re-playability, and everything you would expect from a good RPG.
~graphics 7/10
The graphics for this game aren't exactly revolutionary or amazing. They look clean and crisp on the screen, but aren't going to win any awards for style or looks. They consist of nice sprite images of your characters on the over world, and good looking spriting for you and the nicely designed (if not completely wild) enemies you will be facing.
~music 8/10
The music is pretty good for a pocket RPG. It has a few catchy little tunes for all the main areas you'll be visiting (towns, stores, workshop). Its not going to win the BET TV music awards anytime soon, but I enjoyed it a lot.
~story 7/10
The story for this game is interesting, but is a little too much like any other RPG. Evil is somehow taking over the world, and it is solely up to you to save it, with your young engineer taking care of your Unitron, and you piloting and saving the world without giving a second thought. You even get help from another Unitron pilot who used to be a master warrior with a mysterious past. My, the originality...
~game play 9/10
The game play in this game is pretty fun. You have standard 1 on 1 battles with your Unitron with other peoples Unitrons or monsters in the wild. You can fully customize your Unitron with different attacking arms, backpacks, legs, armors, energy cores, and attack types. Each of your arms provides an attack that drains your energy bar for that match, plus you can learn 2 additional moves from other characters in the game. There is a lot of strategy in this game when choosing all your different equipment, and what type of attacks you want to use.
~overall 8/10
This game is a great RPG for a sadly mis-fortuned system. Good game play, lots of customizable goodness, good fun. Unfortunately, it could only take a serious player 15 hours to beat this game, because of its short story. Now all it needs is a sequel/remake...
