Question from KefkaPalazzo
Asked on: 8/8 10:13AMMy analog nub is tilted in the "move forward" position, but the character in the games are doing strange things, like moving backward, or moving, stopping, moving again, etc. How do I fix this? Can I do it safely?
You can try tightening the screws on the backside of your PSP, this has helped (temporarily) relieve the problem for a lot of people.
As others have said, if under warranty I suggest you use it.
Finally, if your interested in fixing it yourself I suggest taking off your faceplate (voids your warranty) and cleaning the inside of your PSP, especially around where your nub makes contact with the faceplate. Usually it is dust in the contacts that causes this, or other dirt so this should solve the issue.
If that doesn't solve it I would suggest selling it, as there are a number of parts that could be faulty and replacing things one at a time can be costly and frustrating.

statusIf the warranty is still active, holla up Sony. If not, buy a new PSP.
My analog stick did the exact same thing. I fixed mine by taking a q-tip, popping off the analog stick and cleaning inside. ( ONLY works on phats)
You should bring your PSP to a game retailer to fix if your warranty is not over. Otherwise, you can buy an analog nub online. Asa last resort you can buy a new PSP.
Have you taken it apart? If so, then you need to tighten the screws for the faceplate. The exact same thing happened to me on my fat PSP.
Just get a new one it avoids all the hassle you could always find some chum that will buy your psp for 200.
