Monster Hunter Freedom 2

Get monodevil Armour and get cat skill heroics and gem for bomber skill, then use Adrenaline+2(get your health below 40%) and use Heroics(get your health (below10%) and use any fire bow or dragon bow and you'll kill him, bring 13LBB+ if you need them

Yeah u can as long as u knoe what ur doing u can i go solo against him with the akontor bow by myself i don't kill him but i can repell him

I've soloed both successfully. Just use a good hammer, onslaught is worth getting (but if you cant, there are other hammers that do over 1000 that are easy to craft) and go for the belly (it will do much more damage than the head). Just keep hammering away at the belly and he'll die.
I used a variety of weapons, the best hits being with the hunting horn, but the hammers are just made to whittle down his immense health. That's all you need to know, belly and hammer.

U can solo it but u will maybe make it retreat to kill it bring a friend with onsluat!! x . x :p >,< ^.^

I did it with Fire Dragon Sword

I have done it u should be able to with the tigerex armour but for the kill i have used Eternal eradicator, Azure ogre sword, eternal schism, and Ancient Blow. for the g sword stay on the front right leg, use the rest on the stomach. but 4 the weapons u want to use ill try it and reply back.

I have done it. i swear its easy.
the equipment i used was Full low lvl diablos with skills of expert +20 windpress +10 and health -13 and the Onslaught hammer
just try that
you will most likely make it retreat
just make sure you eat

He definately is quite easy despite his size... In all actuality and honesty, the only thing to truly worry over is the time limit. *still simple*, Not getting stepped on, And his tail. I completed both Red and Azure with the Pael Keizah.

You can beat it solo.just use a hammer itll be easy.I beat it with a striped striker just keep hitting it if your using one. I wouldnt rely on cannons to much.

Ive solo'd him with True Devil Slicer without bombs (it was a repel) but i only went for his head so u may get a kill with all of that
also try and get an armor set with attack up (lg) it helps A LOT and along with a mega demon drug, and the power charm and talonyou get pretty close to 1000 and NEVER FORGET TO EAT for attack up and health increase

I've soloed him with the following equipment:
Glorious Victory, Full White Fatalis gunner.

Granted that's an HR6 set. If this is your first time I'd recommend this:
Full Death Stench, Onslaught Hammer
or
Full Monodevil, Onslaught Hammer w/ Heroics

bah.......used this :

Armor, if you can, tigrex armor or rath s (all full set)

and the weapon : smolder dragon sword......if you focused on belly,you should kill him

HunterXA_31- I've found that Tigrex S isn't very useful unless you have High Grade Earplugs and Hornet U gives you those automatically. As for Rathalos (or Rathalos Soul, you didn't specify,) its a better Lao set than Tigrex S. Smolder is good 'cuz it's the dragon version of TDS but I think the Onslaught Hammer is just as good, but it all depends on what you're better with.

Okay, I'm not posting just to criticize him. I have a few good equipment sets to share.

Death Stench S- ESP so you won't bounce off and you'll have more time to attack
Kirin- If you're using an elemental weapon, it increases the element's damage
Hornet U-High Grade Earplugs so you can keep attacking while it roars.

I'll continue to research this topic for you hunters that are having a little trouble with the Lao.

Best method is Akantor Bow. O solo him with that and kill him before he makes it to the fort itself. Just when he enters Area 5 (or 6, idk) he falls dead.

Easiest and most simple way is combining and using bombs and using Prominence Bow II

Get a dragon attributed LongSword and just spam R. Anything with dragon attribute is good enough >.>

The best way to kill ash lao is to get high wind res armor and hammer the stomach, I soloed her all the time

Azeroth198-you played the original Monster Hunter for PS2. It's the only way to know that the Lao Shan Lung is actually a girl.

Those are all excellent equipment decisions. But I think it would be a good idea to post stuff that HR4 hunters can use.

I agree with Azeroth198, High Wind Res armor and Hammer the stomach is the way to go. Like the diablo armor

I've tried with:
Onslaught Hammer
Smolder Dragonsword
Fist of Fury

The only one I could do it with is the Hammers and Full Monoblos S.

Wow man, yeah you can take that sucker on with does equipment, but remember that his weak against fire or dragon element

Lucky, lucky, i only had dual dagon ultimus, but its not a bad weapon, **** if only i can get the heaven and earth...

My cousin hass killed a lao solo with full white fatalis gunner with gv and armor&powercharms after he got cheats you can only bring laos health to 1000 till he gets to area 5 & you start to hurt him more
